“So for a decade she just sat in the walls doing push-ups”😂😂
Exactly it was just not explained
LOL XD
She was locked away with spiders, and basically grew a fascination for them to be just like them.
yes, this one!! I'm dead!🤣🤣
They could of made it make sense by saying “ she died but an Angel came and saved her lol
I personally dont think the sister wants to kill him she had her chances to kill him she never did
😂😂😂😂 Doing push ups!! I'm deaaaaaaad. The actress portraying the Mom gives "good crazy"!!! She is the Bunny boiler reboot-"Misery"-mean girl-homie aaaaand The dad is "Homelander"..so you know that kid is F■■KED 😂 *it was creepy enough in small scenes* but I like this ridiculous shit so honestly..I kind of dug it. I wish the final face of the creature reveal wasn't laughable, it should NOT have smiled. It would have been better if they kept it 5% hidden. I did enjoy the suspense of if the teacher was going to get the hammer from Dad though 😬
Those boys that was with the bully are his older brothers. That’s what I guessed when I first saw them.
I love this movie as much as I love Talk To Me. I watched them both earlier today. I was so creeped out by these monsters. The ghosts and Peter’s spider sister.
I felt bad for Peter most. He’s so innocent and small. And weak. He was bullied by not just the other kids but also by his evil monster sister.
So you like bad movies
@@cunderthunt7545 It’s bad to you. It’s not bad to those of us who enjoy it.
@@jennikifm2 yeah that’s what I said
@@cunderthunt7545 It’s good to me.
I thought they were his cousin or at least one of them was because one of them say "is that the house cuz?"
lmaooo "the mom seems crazy but not in a fun way" has me dead
I also liked "What is she eating?"
Yesssss❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
This movie irked MY SOUL. From the unexplained reasons why the daughter couldn’t break out, to the unrealistic actions of the substitute teacher, to the weird reasons why the four bullies showed up at the house, thinking a little boy will be there all by himself without his parents, and then they go inside, to the main villain creature, sister, being a rip off of the ring Villain from those movies I was just extremely disappointed and I had high hopes for this movie, but it failed spectacularly. But this review and the commentary that you guys gave had me in tears. It was so funny listening to your voice exactly how I felt about this movie. Thank you.
They actually had the daughter locked since she was born. Because of her monstrous looks. The girl that disappeared was attacked by the daughter when she tricked her to try and help her escape. She uses that sweet and innocent voice to get peter to free her. I liked the movie despite it's flaws
I need to rewatch this. Because I think I misinterpreted something or wasnt paying attention somewhere.
It seemed like to me for whenever reason in my head that the girl saw the daughter through the doorway when she was Trick-or-Treating, so the parents killed her to avoid exposure that they had an ugly kid. Because they were ashamed and embarrassed
With all that super strength I'm still confused why the sister didn't just bust through the walls and get everyone? My only guess is maybe she was trying to troll her own family, and have her brother kill their parents. But its not explained to well. So were the parents even evil? And before i saw the film i thought they weren't the boys real parents. but by plot twist I'm guessing they really were his parents. So he just poisoned his parents for not wanting their daughter to go on rampage and hurt a bunch of people? 😂. Why didn't they just tell him who she was and that shes real?
the parents didn't kill the little girl, the spider sister killed the little girl. that's why they locked her in the wall
Yeah right thought that was pretty obvious I guess not lol
@@puttmanftw765 It was totally obvious
Right, and she lied and manipulated him to free her even tho she wanted to kill him too.
I really liked it…and it had a great creepfactor to it…definitely similar to Barbarian, which I enjoyed as well.
The parents killed the little girl, not the sister. They recap it in the movie. The little girl got a glimpse of the disfigured sister and the parents killed her (buried her in the background) for fear she would tell the neighborhood what she saw.
So many movies require Olympic levels of suspension of disbelief to even enjoy them
The performances from the parents was not giving.. I couldn’t believe that those were his parents.. and nobody called the police?!?!
I thought the sub should have instead of walking around dead bodies and leaving her phone in the house lol
Many plot holes to me:
1) How the sister grow up? what does she eat all these years and how she can mimics young girl sound?
2) How does it convince me that the sister can kill 3 young man in split seconds but then easily get captured by the boy that is weak n slow 😅
Woman's hair and the weak point 😂
There’s a small scene where the mom is coming from the room where she’s trapped and is holding a blender with green liquid residue. My guess is they feed her that stuff?
@@edithaarias Think they where feeding her with pumpkin
So was she alive or a ghost?
@@kimberlybarrett8079she had have some type of superhuman powers because she was on the ceiling at one point. I don't care how long you observe rats and spiders, you can't learn how to walk across the ceiling.
She looked like a disney pixar version of a horror creature
Girl looked like Gollum 🤣
If Homelander was my dad I'd be terrified off the rip. 😂😂
Poisoning as self defense would be a haaaaaard sale for criminal defense lol.
I want a tshirt that says “This mom is crazy, but not in a fun way”
I absolutely love your reviews. This is one of my favorite channels, period.
The creature like girl was giving me barbarian smile, and how to train your Dragon in the face in the movie was giving Coraline.
Bwawawawahahahahahaaa😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I had low expectations 😂....I thought it was okay🤷🏽♀️😉 a black character made it to the end of a horror movie😂😂😂
Super-strong sister-beast creature!! 😂
Watched this opening night and totally agree that it seems like multiple movies slapped together. The CinemaSins of this movie has to be off the charts. I don't feel like the logic of ANYTHING holds up. The monster sister is really not adding enough to this movie...just focusing on the abusive parents would've been better.
It's a horror movie, there is no logic.
Been hearing good things about this little horror that could from a couple of horror reviewers I watch so I'm pleasantly surprised y'all reviewed it. Not surprised y'all didn't like it though 😂 thanks for the review anyway guys
Such an amazing way to start the weekend! 😎
I read the blacklist script and it was pretty different. And the ending was completely different - the teacher gets decapitated and the boy gets put in the wall by the sister.
Wait where did u find the script ? i wanna hear more lol cuz that sounds sm better than the original ending lol
@@nostalgicsouls It was on the 2018 blacklist. I got it off of reddit. A lot of scenes they described were not in the script - like, the boy doesn't let the sister out. She lures the family cat to the hole, eats it, and picks the lock with its bones.
Wait did I interpret that wrong?!I thought that the sister was the one that killed the girl and they had to bury her in the backyard with the pumpkins. I didn’t get the impression that the parents did it.
Did we get it wrong? lol
@@fishjellyfilmreviews If that wasn't clear then that's a big flaw in Devlin's script. Yikes
According to collider the sister was a killing machine and the parents put her in the walls to container. So according to this, no the parents didn’t kill the girl in the neighborhood, the super strong demon sister killed her.
The Sister killed the girl, not the parents. That's why she was locked up in the walls.
Literal lol when her voice was compared to Lindsey Lohan 😩💀
This movie was god awful. I’ll give it credit that it sets up a creepy atmosphere but that’s all I’ll give it. When you finally learn the twist, the movie is over like 10 minutes later. And why wouldn’t they kill the sister once she’s locked in the cage? You’re gonna let her live and haunt you/potentially find you? Don’t get me started on the character design. Her face was hilarious and the crab walking in this wasn’t as creepy as Kayako’s.
I'm still confused with all the supernatural strength she has, why didn't she just bust through the walls and get her parents? I'm guessing maybe she just wanted to troll her family really bad by tricking her brother, But it's still not explained like at all.
That's what I was thinking. Pour some gasoline down that bitch and set the house on fire.
Creature beast sister 😂😂😂😂😂now THAT needs to be on a tshirt ❤❤❤😅😂
“What is she eating?” This took me out 😂
i just want to say to Nick that i got the "The Last House on the Left" reference and now I feel like a film buff.
I'm dying laughing at Joseph's reaction to this movie. All of your reviews are hilarious, but this one took me out!🤣🤣🤣🤣 I agree though, this movie was all over the place. It didn't explain much of anything.💯
This is the funniest review ya'll have done🤣🤣🤣 . I was wheezing before but 13:09 took me right on out. Yall are legendary.
Wouldn’t it made sense that their daughter k1lled the missing girl and the parents buried the body and lock their daughter away to protect her and the daughter lied to the brother about how the body actually got there.
You guys are the BEST reviewers, love love love y’all in the most parasocial way ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love you guys and your reviews!
“Super strong creature beast sister in a wall”💀
Love the shirt Joseph ❤
I did like the movie but had a lot of the same questions. Also loved the JLo dig.
So many holes. I 100 percent agree with you about the sub. teacher as well. They could have at least made her a social worker or counselor from the school. I was also confused as to why the parents acted like they did and it did seem there was a bit of paranormal in there but it does not make sense. None of it really made sense. It was fun though. Im not one to talk through movies but yeah, I did through this one.
A+ for the Lindsay Lohan reference. 😅 love your commentary and agree with so much. On a positive, I thought some of the scares were really well constructed and kind of terrifying.
I love this review! I had all the same critiques though I assumed that the daughter killed the neighbor girl. This movie had major logic issues-like how did the mother give birth to a superhuman demon child? How did the parents stop demon child from killing them? Why keep her alive?
Once they revealed the sister, all I could think was "How did the parents keep that devil b***h locked up?" They showed the mom go in there, presumably to feed her since they made it sound like she's not supernatural, she's just really really strong and evil for some reason. How didn't she just tumble the mom? Or break through the wall? She's strong enough to climb walls like spiderman but she can't break through a wall? Ms. Divine broke through the wall but she couldn't even pull back against her child brother pulling her hair?
It had potential but it went off the rails badly for me. I thought the reveal would be that she was some kind of demon or monster that was sealed in with magic or something to explain why she couldn't escape on her own but no.
she tender-headeded ? 😂😂😂
I appreciate the willingness to put out movie reviews on UA-cam because I imagine it’s hard to do and can be difficult at times; but you both got the story completely wrong.
The sister was born disfigured or whatever you want to call it. Because of how she was the parents were ashamed and kept her in the cage. The fed her and took care of her but didn’t let her out of the house because of her appearance. Over time she grew and learned to climb how she does in the film.
One Halloween , the little girl heard or saw the daughter and the I believe the parents killed the girl to protect their daughters secret or the daughter killed the girl and the parents covered it up. After that specific incident the daughter was placed in the walls instead of the cage in the basement.
The mother was paranoid because she felt guilt for locking her daughter up and because they covered up and or killed a little girl.
Even when the daughter was in the walls she was fed by the parents. We see this when the mother is maneuvering the clock and it’s evident by the long scratch on the fathers arm that he got , more than likely from feeding her.
The substitute pitied the boy and that’s why she was so invested in him.
Realistically, the sister kills the teacher and locks the boy up but they wanted a slightly happier ending , so they allowed them to somehow lock her up.
I’m all for criticism of a movie but if you are going to do it , you have to die your due diligence and make sure it is done properly.
Grammar is probably all over the place , I’m typing on my phone. So I apologize for that 😂
So this "person" that clearly has super human strength (because she tore those bullies to shreds in seconds) needs the help of a little boy? All she had to do was ambush the mom when she opens the door to feed her. Plot holes galore!
@@darthcervantesyeah it doesn't make any sense whatsoever
I get what you mean but I just watched this and don't feel confident your details here are even right lol. The movie was ass and didn't make itself clear.
Omg, y’all 😂 I just watched this last night and convinced myself that it was such a great movie…until I watched this. Y’all two snapped me back to reality with the quickness. You just gained another subscriber with this one.
I only saw the trailer once. Unlike the Barbie movie trailer.
Why do I relate to this so much 😅
You should recommend some horror films you like after the score. Because i seem to have similar issues with some of theses movies, but without a good alternative of what to watch instead. I love Horror (moody like The Exorcist) or a nice Whodunit (Agatha Christy Style). Correct me if i am wrong but the only person who said the parents killed the girl... was the chick in the wall. No offense to her but after she tricked her brother into killing the parents i wouldn't trust her narrative. I honestly think she killed the girl and they locked her in the wall or they killed the girl to keep people from finding out about crazy in the wall.
So, the parents could only be guilty of covering up the crime for her and locking the kid in the basement. Their creepy ass behavior could be a way to make them seem like the threat, when the girl in the wall was the threat all alone (Barbarian style) . 💋💋💋❤❤❤
Yeah this movie was full of nonsense, especially the phone number thing. And I’m not particularly good at spotting inconsistencies. And yeah the parents were acting really weird. Just so that the audience is forced to doubt them in the first half of the movie, then a twist happens, and... oh no! They were not so bad after all and now they're dead!
I hate when movies do that and that it’s not executed well, in retrospect their behavior during most of the movie makes no sense. It just doesn't work.
Thanks for your review guys, you never fail to make me laugh 😊
Time period wasn’t the 90s remember she had an iPhone I think it was the cinematography
‘I did not care for it’ ……. 😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is too funny. You guys are so quick with the insults. I love it.
Like she stepped on a wood tick that was full of blood. LOL!!!!!
😂😂😂great review guys! Thanks again also
it’s gotta be bad when Joseph says he can’t even rewrite it!!! ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
What is she eating 😂😂😂😂😂I can’t
The only thing I enjoyed about this movie was the "other mother" Coraline vibes. I was disappointed at what was actually happening.
Thank 💕You💕💕💕
Belatedly!💕💕💕💕
Somehow I’m interested in this film maybe because I like horror movies
“I killed a girl and I liked it.” LOL 😂
Theirs probably going to be a sequel if they is a sequel it would probably focus on the boy at the police station or getting cousling from his teacher or something and they could have it to where he meets a girl with similar issues as him with a creepy relative locked in a basement and crazy parents
Best accidentally hilarious movie I’ve seen. Been talking about for weeks
For Everyone Asking How Did The Sister Eat Behind The Walls... The dad was the one who fed the sister everyday... Thats why we kept seein the father with cuts on his arms and washing them in the kitchen sink.
I didn’t care for this movie either. Made no sense. Why did they even have a weird monster daughter? They should have explained
Maybe the sister is being controlled by something supernatural that the parents are doing. Or the child never developed those skills being put in the wall at a young age I guess
I appreciate the two of you and your awesome movie reviews!! Thank you both 💓 🥳💯
They locked her in the basement.
I also compared this to barbarian. But I do have to say I thought that the sister killed the trick or treaters and the parents locked her up because of it
I thought the sister killed the missing girl from years ago
My biggest issue was the end seemed dumb af.
I love you two so much. You give me hope. If you ever break up I will hurt myself. So... (thinking about not sending this comment. But it's my truth. And i can't stop myself anyway).
LMAO
His Sister also told him hed tell him WHERE to dig in the backyard... thats how he knew exactly where to dig
"Super strong creature beast" - how my siblings refer to me..
Just came back from the theater and seriously thought that I had been Punk'd. I loooooove Lizzy Caplan, but even she couldn't save this film. There was no direction at all and like you mentioned, too many tropes mixed into one. They could've just done a "these aren't your actual parents" story and expand upon that. Kidnap kids, raise them, dispose of them when they reach a certain age or are "bad", then go out and get another kid. Rinse and repeat. Not an original idea, but it could work. Also, I just can't see Antony Starr as anyone but Homelander now.
This was hilarious. I love all of your reviews!
You guys are hilarious
It was terrible
I think there was a good movie in there somewhere. Yes lots of holes and no explanations bugged me. Technically I thought the mood and atmosphere was excellent and I thought the sister, the look and movements, thumping was good and creepy. Except the face not good. I really needed a lot more exposition
The substitute answers the phone call from Peter on a cell phone so at least gotta be like early 2000's.. and as far as her voice, Peter didn't know if what he was hearing was like her ghost or maybe they were twins or barely older than him .. it seems you are trying your absolute hardest to hate on the movie. It's got mostly good reviews even without good marketing. I like yall's videos but i gotta completely disagree with just about everything you said. Seems like maybe you read something bad or heard something going into it and were already biased. But, that's just my opinion which doesn't mean shit.
I do agree though on the flimsy walls part and why, being freakishly strong and what not, did she not just break through and escape? I also was/am still confused on the supernatural component. She said her parents screamed when she was born and the 3 times or so it shows her face and not just hair she definitely doesn't seem in any way human. Maybe some crazy deformity and then all those years "teaching herself to climb" and what not .. idk. That part is definitely the most confusing but i still enjoyed the movie and it's some images that if it wasn't for my dog being here at night i might hear something and picture that face lurking around the corner. Like the movie "Caviet".. There are 2 parts towards the end that scared the absolute shit out of me. I guess the lurking face around the corner has always been something that creeped me out.
My takeaway was the sister killed the little girl and so they locked her up. Also, these critics said at the end of the movie they lock her in the wall. Thats not accurate either, they locked her in the pit.
Edit: they also said Peter was chained in the basement. He was not. Did they even pay attention?? 🤦🏽♀️
I liked it but i love watching ya'll do reviews. You guys rock!😊
Joseph looks so swoll in that shirt! ❤️
Just watched and thought it was amazing. All your criticisms are about the film being unrealistic, but its literally a Halloween story told from a childs POV? Its clearly a fantasy film
i think the sister killed the little girl and buried her in the backyard and the parents were crazy but not killers, the parents were scared of their son doing something similar. i think the son is like the daughter, he pushed a kid down some stairs which is insane and killed his own parents instead of running away. the sister following him at the end is probably a symbol for the darkness following him.
The teacher had an iPhone mini , the sister killed that girl . 1:20min movie = a waste of time .
I never thought the girl was actually locked up alive. I think of her more like Pennywise where it's like a ghost monster where the wall is a trap because that is where the daughter died.
The Sister killed the other girl. It wasn't the parents.
Peter, the true villain of the story with an unblinking death count of two parents and a crippled child
It was rob zombies Halloween meets the people under the stairs meets the ring meets malignant meets barbarian
This movie was not good but the teacher did have an iPhone so I think it’s supposed to be current?
I was wondering why the sister was supernatural after being in the wall all these years...?
This sounds like Bruno from Encanto ish but make it horror
I thought the daughter killed the girl and the parents covered it up
Joseph I love your shirt!
The question I have is how did she eat or drink? Is she already dead?
Omg, I loved this movie. I cried laughing.
I hated the shadow gag...
I had it 5/10 but is way less.
You no how long it takes to beat down a wall lol I cant
Sounds dumb but I do like the male parent
It a pretty good movie. Very scary
Aunt May dies ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Blah, blah everyone hates everything.
I love Lizzie Kaplan but she is getting terrible roles. Out of curiosity, I watched the Fatal Attraction series. It's sooooo boring and 8 EPISODES LONG. They took out everything that made the film great and turned it into 8 hours of watery garbage where barely anything happens except the main characters being at work.
I was throughout disappointed with the movie: it has great cast (Lizzy Caplan and Anthony Starr hello?), the trailer was dissently mysterious, i would say that production value wasn't that bad either (costume, set design), but gooooooooood the passing, the script... The twist was unsatisfied, the whole "fairytalesqu" atmosphere wasn't realized enough, a lot of moments, that meant to be scary, were laughable... 3/10 and only cause parents performance did hook me almost to the end, otherwise it's run of the mill forgettable Halloween movie... That was realised in summer.
