You saved me so much trouble bro! This little quick fix made a world of a difference! No more thumping and thudding. I've been trying to figure this out for like 5 years... Thanks a million!
Thanks man. Going out in the garage and thought I catch a video before I jack the car up. Perfect!
Love to see quality Mustang guys, great video
I like this guy he's funny
Nice. Going to do this to mine. Hoping it eliminates that insane clunking noise from underneath! Thanks man.
Kevin Sivesind did it go away
Thank you so much for this, been worried this was a difficult job but now know it's a walk in the park
Great job, some people forget to grease them and it makes more noise than before. Good idea for the boy. Great Vid Bud
Thanks boss man! Just got a 2010 mustang and it makes a clunk sound up front on bumpy roads. Sounds like it's the bushings. Didn't know it was this easy to fix, thanks man!!
Glad it helped
Bro,good video, thanks but you always need torque to spec on all mods to your stangs for safety reasons and it's excellent to do for no problem down the road.
Im doing this on my 12 Mustang, Thanks for the video. BTW love your rims im not in to big goofy rims, I just picked up a set with 255 on them look great
I did this job today and man it was a pain... my sway bar shifted when I removed the bracket and getting it back into position was super hard luckily I used a jack to help push it up...thanks again for the video!
AWESOME!!! Thank u for posting a video. I bought some and I was wondering where they went. I'm starting to do my own work on my car so this is helpful. Thank u again 😄
Great video mate, I have a 2014 Mustang hope it's the same procedure. Thanks.
Nice easy job!
Thank you! Local Midas wanted 450 to change these out on my 08 V6. Thank you!
Holy cow, that is robbery
Yea this shop told me 600 for the bushings and my front right strut im like are you guys crazy?
He told me there was 4 bushings on the sway is that accurate I only see you taking about 2
If you need the bushings on the end you should replace them. I did this in another video while replacing other parts.
@@LilDoggy can you post the link? I only see kits with 2 bushings not sure if he said end links tho
Thanks bud easy fix👍🏼
You’re the guy that makes the chili!!!!
I do a lot!!
Lil Doggy I’ve impressed a lot of folk with your recipe. Now I’m using your channel to work on my mustang!! Lol thanks bud keep it up!!
Excellent video my friend.
Thanks for the visit
Great job that's Exactly how to do it.. I took mine off of my mustang.. 90 foxbody launches way better
Nice vid,thanks!
incredibly informative and useful, video. Thank you so much!
There should have been a little packet of very sticky grease with your bushings, like in this video. If not, I'm sure your local parts store will have what you need.
Thank ya, brother!
Cool! I wanna try now! LOL
Thanx Mike! :D
+captainjerk YOu could do it, if you could get under the car lol
+Lil Doggy Yeah yeah. he he he he, who's the jerk now? LOL :D
Oh man, sorry bro. Wasn't thinking.
+Lil Doggy I didn't take offense. I was laffin' at the end of my previous message! LOL
You probably couldn't offend me man.
Love you brotha! I got vids comin' in a bit. :D
Shared, liked. :D
Thank you!
No worries bro, it's easy!
Great info, thanks.
Have to add you look a little like a heavy duty David Letterman. 🍺
Thank you Lil Doggy!!
You're very welcome Joseph, you can do this easily
Thank you my friend.
Easier than tires! You got this!!
NICE!!
Is there a torque spec on how much to tighten them down ? I have loose bushing bracket rn and it grinds against one of the pulleys
I’m a backyard guy. I bet Google would know
Looks easy enough. Thanks,
Very Cool!
The only area that is supposed to get grease is inside the bushing where the bar makes contact.
Squeaked like a mfer last time I did that
At 3:40 😂
What size socket? I need to go buy one. Super helpful video... thank you for posting!
infA111ous looks like a 9/16 to me, but I’d check for sure.
Buy a damn set
Is it possible that I could be having sway bar bushing problems if my car makes a funny noise similar to a dry arm control bushing?
probably
can you do this without jacking the car up? i was going to just crawl under and do it but I was wondering if that added pressure on the wheels changes the pressure to fit back on that bushing bracket.
james liu I'd recommend taking the weight off the front of the car
cool. thx for the quick reply! just subcribed!
james liu yeah bubba, hell you might have been on the side of the road lol
james liu Yeah, need to remove tension out of sway bar by lifting car in front and placing jackstands. It takes longer to raise car & remove wheels than to change out these two front sway bar bushings. Replace sway bar end links at same time as those wear out faster than front bar bushings. Transforms your Mustang's steering feedback & feel to brand new!
Do you know if the oem bushings are split already so I could just easily take them off? I wouldn't want to remove the whole bar just to take a bushing off 😭
They should be, but I do not know
Would this cause a squeak in the left rear wheel?
Probably should change all the bushings anyway but that could be a strut or a bushing.
Thank you! I just fixes mine and the noise is gone.
i jux changed my swaybar bushings because my car was makin nice when i ride over little bumps, but after i put on the new bushings the sway bar still moves side to side. it looks like tge bushing is loose is to big for the bar so it dnt hold it in place. my question is is tha normal??
No, take it to a mechanic. Sounds like you've got the wrong bushing.
theres diffrent sizes of bushings?? so the bar is not supposto move at all??
Jose Lopez no it shouldn't move from side to side. There shouldn't be different sizes but somethings going on. A mechanic could tell you
thank you. i didnt know it tha was normal for the bar to move a lil in the bushings. i will take it to gt it checked out
mustang bushings usually go out in time, american car parts are just made cheap...
Awsome video. Great information
PLEASE do you have the link for the bushings? I am not finding the correct size PLEASE I need help 05 mustang GT
ADDOOOMZZ google 05 mustang front bushings
I swear to god I did...but im not finding it...went to the forums and everybody is throwing random numbers and Im completely lost :(
ADDOOOMZZ no offense, but if you can't figure out google or even how to get the part, you probably shouldn't get under a car you jacked up.
Dude...I replaced the oem radiator with an upgraded mishimoto one and the ac condensor as my first job on any car ever...but I seriously cant seem to find these bushing lmao
Like someone said 34mm...rockauto said that too...another guy said 18...and on some others are claiming 26
The bolt spins with the nut on one my RH bracket making removing the nut a huge pita...
going to attempt this over the weekend when i have more time and a 2nd set of hands... unless someone has a work around to the spinning bolt?
Also what are some indications that the sway bar bushing needs to be changed?
Is there a way to get behind your bracket with a wrench? I'm not sure how that could happen unless something traumatic happened to it. Put your car on stands, lay under it, and wiggle the sway bar, if it has play in it, it needs to be changed.
+Lil Doggy Thanks. I was able to tighten it by holding a wrench on the bolt and tightening the nut down with the other hand but god dang was it tough. I have some thunks in my suspension... (126k 2010 V6) changed the struts and end links and that helped but im thinking either replacing the bushings or tightening down the brackets some more will help
+Lil Doggy Also wiggle like top to bottom or left to right?
+S GKukov your bushing brackets should not be loose at all, if they are you should not be driving it!
+S GKukov top to bottom
I have 08 mustang gt I changed strut and strut mounts sway bar bushings and tie rod end bushings and I still got this sqeecky noise have you had any problems like that
rivera martinez did you use lots of lube on all the matching surfaces?
Lil Doggy no I didn't. . just the inside of it.. what kind of grease would u recommend
Do u know whats size bushings for front and end? 2006 mustang gt
No I don’t now, I’m sorry. This was five years ago. With your year model any parts store should be able to get you the right part
What size socket did you use?
If I remember right (it’s been a few years) I think it was 9/16
Lil Doggy OK appreciate I have a 2006 Mustang gt and I need too replace my bushings.
It’s easy, just get both wheels off the ground
I can reach these bushings without lifting car, can I change bushing without lifting and placing on stands?
You need to take the weight off of them
Lil Doggy Thanks, your video is excellent and makes what I thought would be a tough job, easy.
Thank you! I just fixed mine and the noise is gone.
What kind of noise did you have and when would it happen ?
Squeaky bumping sound when going over bumps.
Juan Guerrero what lil doggy said.
Except my bracket on 2012 v6 Mustang is tabbed & tight enough to the sway bar that it won't budge when unbolted from frame. So....how to get the old bushing off, which is why I came to youtube in the first place.....
Cut it off
@@LilDoggy For some reason just got this notice that you had commented. For anyone with a '10-'14 Mustang, don't change the bushings. Had a squeak, was positive bushings. Cut the tabs off like suggested and bought Moog K201490, which is what was listed where I work for a '12 Mustang. Old bushings glued to sway bar, hacked off, put Moogs on, too small for bar, at buddy's house 2 hours form home so put them on anyway. 1 squeezed 1/2 way out. Ended up down the road getting a new Ford sway bar that comes with bushings pre installed. There are a few different letters with the same part number depending on model; I got one that was supposed to be for Shelby on eBay for my V6 and bolted right in. Incidentally, squeak NOT bushings!
