Yeah okay I’m gonna need the mega set now please :P also major respect for saying a detrimental point about your own product in your own video and then explaining the best way to deal with it. Absolute class and a great looking product. Can’t wait to get my hands on them.
3:09 primer on the elf went on REALLY fuzzy. Interesting to see that even pros got that problem when priming with rattlecans under suboptimal conditions. I bought an airbrush just to be able to prime consistently during winter, because with the rattlecan its a gamble if it goes on smooth or gets that raw sandpaper-like texture.
My favourite on the board has got to be 7:14, not just the undead mini but all the furniture and terrain surrounding, and my favourite mini is that goblin at 7:17.
OH Guys please. Exactly the video I need. I have just started painting my Barbarian. I want to paint the heroes normally but for the monsters and furniture I need your speedpaints and I have to wait until the end of march.
I've been sitting on my copy of Heroquest for a couple months now, and I first learned about Speedpaints at about the same time - so I have been very excitedly waiting to get my hands on some to do exactly this!! Thank you so much for doing this video! Question - can you somewhere write out a list of what speedpaints you used on what parts of the miniatures? Even better if it was next to photos! This would be very useful as people start to learn how to use these!
Hi Folks! I startet up miniature painting when corona lock downs were a thing, so I am fairly new. I've been using Army Painter primer and paints only so far but run into an issue with the matt white primer, which is recommended for your speedpaints, regarding the Hero Quest figures. I primed up some miniatures in summer and all was fine back then. Since I hadn't so much time inbetween I coulnd paint them up, so I stored them in my cabinet in my living room. When getting them out there the matt primer became kind of glossy and sticky. How could that happen? I had a Battletech plastic mini also primed up with your light grey primer from month before I did the Hero Quest figures and there is no issue at all!
This is exactly the game why I would like to start painting again and also the set I would like to buy. Thanks for this tutorial, but could be great if you tell us the paints you used on each miniature, a color scheme is called? Also how much time take to paint all of them? Maybe we can consider the speed of the photographer now the expert 😅
I would have liked a more in depth video. It's been a good 40 years since I painted anything except house walls... Just got the Speedpaint Mega Set 2.0 for Christmas because I decided Legos and PC/Console gaming has bored me for a bit. So I'm going to paint my Heroquest 2020 set (and then all expansions). But I want "Zen simple". Slapchop seems the way to go with Speedpaint.
I wanna collect all the old and new hero quest games and addons and i wanna get space crusade but for now the broken skeleton i have from the original will have to do
Just seen this, and was wondering if you have close up pictures of each of the minis as I am about to use speed paints on my original HQ and would love some ideas.
I find I don't like the grainy effect that a zenithal coating has on speed paints or contrast paints, contrast being the ones I have experience with of course. I find a more solid grey base coat with darker grey in the shadowy areas gives you a similar effect without it looking like a bad spray job.
I have a question for you, but first I would like to tell you a really beautiful video 😊 a union of nostalgia and modernity, nostalgia from your beautiful memories of when you played as a child, modernity from the fact that you painted these miniatures in your style and with your imagination, without following the images on the cards, this is one of the things I like about this hobby sometimes I let go of the imagination without having to follow the guidelines 😋👍 As for the question, there are 24 colors for now, but are there any plans for more colors to be added in the future? Thank you so much again for everything 😊
At the moment, no. We don't believe in range fillers, and wanted to make a concise line up of Speedpaint that meets the needs of the majority of our customers. That may change, but for now, no.
Are these Speedpaints 1.0 , just got the game and I want to start painting but can’t afford 2.0 paints. Was wondering if they use 1.0 cause they look amazing. Thanks
Mega Set preordered a month ago. It was supposed to arrive yesterday but now it's delayed indefinitely =( I'm gonna attack my Massive Darkness 2 minis with it, part of them are already primed and waiting...
Excuse me TAP, I bought the mega 2.0 set and the HeroQuest rerelease, and I've gotten zero of those uber pizza pockets delivered to my table. 0/5 stars😁
There have been some shipping delays from distribution it seems, sadly, there are shipping delays all over the world but have no fear they are on their way!
Clearly, I don't understand the purpose of this video. You just show how you paint the fish people and that's all. No more instructions, focus, zoom how you use the speed paint. Your video could be very usefull if you tell us how you painted each miniatures and furnitures with the speed paint. I bought a set, i'm newbi. Like lots of people who bought Heroquest, we just want to play with painted stuff. That's it. Your speedpaint does the job and seems incredible. We don't want to test each mixture and try to find the good result, just a line up. Just like, "hey man, this is what you need to cook a super chocolate cake. Oh, great, give me the instructions. No way..."
We have loads of videos just like that, this was more of a "hey, we have a fun idea, take a look inside what we do at The Army Painter." Hope you enjoyed this little slice of life and stay tuned for more instructional videos in the future.
fish guy painter, first time painting? pretty terrible job "stating in the lines". Was this supposed to show how the speed paints are good? I have the set and am not sure I could do as bad as the shown "fish guy"

Super fun video. Looking forward to my pre-ordered megaset
Ow the memories I'm 41 and remember that game fondly , I love the way it's the same game but with better models 😆 also nice use of speed paint 🎨 👍
Love the exitement on the guys face holding the game, That's extactly how i felt when it arrived just like im a kid again haha
I love this! I'd love a more detailed view of the other models and what colors went where. This is so inspiring!
Can't wait to start using the basic speedpaint set. Should ship from Amazon in a couple of days.
Can´t wait to get my hands on those. Really enjoyed the video!
Great video! Definitely fans the flames of nostalgia. Thank you!

I might could get my hands on some of these new fangled Speed Paints to see what the fuss is about them...this was a fun and funny video!

Awesome.
Brushes, Washes, Metallics, I love all the Army Painter stuff!
Everyone is SO happy at the surprise ending I chuckled.
THIS BEST THING ABOUT HEROQUEOST IS ...
…the Gargoyle! It is the best miniature in the land!
Rolling to move
The BRODE SODE!
Amazing guys!

Waiting to be able to get these paints is figuratively killing me! :D
Thank goodness not LIT-RALLY

I got speed paint just for my HeroQuest game! This is awesome
I buy a few bottles every week. I think I'm addicted.

"Thomas, can I see it?
No!"
Awesome!!! (-.
The end result turned out great. Looking forward to trying the SP's out iRL.
What about those little cups and what kind of magic putty is that to mount them to the cups?
"Brode Sode!"

This was a cute video I liked the intro a lot. Your team seems to have fun.
nice video, thx :)

To do the zenithal highlight I use gray instead of black since speedpaints are very translucent and black do t take paint very well.

Would love to see your tutorial

hey whats going on i cant find your speed paints for sale anywhere !!!!

Don't dis the old one's. They were from a simpler time. LOL.
Looks like I’m the only one in the world who don’t buy it 😭😭 I’m a very sad painter
U can fix this ;)
Love the video, and I can't wait to get a hold of them. Quick question from a newbie though.. what is the expected dry-time for the speed paints?
We can’t provide exacts due to a myriad of variants unfortunately.
@@TheArmyPainter that's alright, it was worth a shot. :)
Is big man’s 62 referring to rule 62? 🔺
Fun fact: The Danish language doesn't really exist, it's a trick played on the world by Belgian comedians since 1754.
We call BS.
