    Why else would people buy LSD?!

      He states in the video that getting the diff too hot can cause the spider gear to seize on the shaft, hence constant abuse should be avoided. It's completely possible that with proper differential cooling, this kit could stand up to racing use.
      Be a pioneer, find out for us.

      they have real racing LSD like torsens. this on the video are for everyday use, giving extra traction on snow or wet conditions. People thing a $300 locker is going to be the same as a Torsen, Haldex, or Quaife....

      To make FWD car useable? Otherwise most cars have trouble cornering and accelerating. For RWD it obviously makes no sense, since these are cars with serious power and engineers built them on purpose the way they are. FWD cars are ment for people that don't want to go fast and everyday folks, so if you want to use their limited power and capabilities, you need LSD.
      Once you go to the track, invest in proper racing gear - there are reasons for racing carts to cost $$$, and reliable LSD is one of them.

    Unfortunately none of these issues are addressed in the 188k install video. Furthermore the pin is inserted with a hammer in the video as well. I did not install mine myself so I can´t tell what the reason was in the end, but mine also broke after 2 months due to the pin breaking lose.

    Good morning. On a front-wheel drive, do you have any advantages with racingdiffs? If yes, does it exist for vw polo 6r gti 1.8 ?

    • @RacingDiffs
      @RacingDiffs  11 місяців тому +1

      This year, we will do more tests to demonstrate the benefits of LSD on FWD cars, which are huge. Polo Gti set is coming soon.

      @stefanopepe3891 11 місяців тому +2

      @@RacingDiffs I'm very happy that you're preparing it for polo 1.8 gti. Especially for manual gearbox which has a significant torque practically at very low engine rpm, especially after a simple stage 1. On dry asphalt it is also quite fast coming out of corners, but in the wet it is slow even with good tyres. It will also depend on the Custer angle of the steering but the understeer is too much and very annoying. I hope that the component you will create is durable so that you don't consider maintenance often, considering that the differential is inside the gearbox and therefore it would be a complicated and expensive job every time to do maintenance. Thank you for your reply and I hope to see a demonstration video on front-wheel drive as soon as possible. See you soon and good job

      If differential is separated from gearbox, like in the most RWD cars, than Motul Gear Competition 75w140 is our choice. If it is inside gearbox, than factory grade but for LSD.

    I have this exact set and I have a clunk coming from the diff when applying/releasing gas (load shift) while moving. It is possible that this is a symptom of the central pin coming apart even though loctite has been applied? What symptoms have been reported prior to catastrophic failure associated with the central pin?

    • @RacingDiffs
      @RacingDiffs  3 роки тому +1

      No such sounds was reported. What is more likely is backlash, if you mixed position of side bearings C Clips, or adjustment shims.

Those chemicals wont do good for your skin and health. its not problem if you do randomly, but if you do it every day you will have skin problems like dry cracking skin and and years it can even cause cancer.. Please when you do videos like this, just do it correctly with gloves on.

      it looks like he's using blue in the video. which is still considered serviceable. like you can break it loose with a bar or something. if your really worried about it put some red in there and you'll probably need heat to get that apart.
      If I had to make a guess. most people bust the c clip during install and don't realize it's broken. because the 2 halfs are still keeping the pin in place. once you get some miles on it and some good vibration. the half then break even more and finally can't do anything and the pin Flys out
