Firefighters Rescue Man Who Fell Into Industrial Tortilla Maker

DETAILS:
A male employee of the Sawaya Brother Market was using an industrial-sized tortilla-making machine when he fell into the top of the machine as he was loading dough into the top.
His arm went all of the way and got stuck.
Other employees rushed to shut off the machine.
Firefighters arrived, and they had to disassemble the machine to remove the victim and had to prop him up as he was hanging from the top of the machine.
It took close to 1 hour to remove the victim, and he was transported with his arm still stuck inside.
He has major injuries.
At one point, the SDFD’s Medical Doctor arrived, and if needed, he would have conducted surgery (amputation) to free the male.
CalOSHA will be investigating.

Poor guy, hope they can save his arm. Always be cognizant of all your limbs and digits when working around moving machinery and never wear gloves or loose clothing. Best wishes to this man.

@@OUTTHEMUDVISUAL The description says the FD surgeon was there in case they needed to amputate. It does not say that they performed an amputation.

Being a technical rescue person… who’s literally had to watch & assist cutting both 🙁😱 arms off a guy to save his life .. with our medical team is unbelievable & unreal! I feel for that man !! God bless … I’m still 20 years later… Haunted 🤫 god bless the men & women who serve ! Me .. 💯 VOLUNTEER
