    Thanks for your usefull tips. Also my Saab 9-3 Convertible has problems with it spontaneously working siren…so, sharing your knowledge made it more easy to make up my mind about the necessary actions. Kind regards from the Netherlands!

    You are doing such a good thing for us Saab owners. My 9-3 every once in a while displays the alarm message on the SID. now i'm one step closer to fixing it

    Thank you so much. Great video, Just your mention of the glass breakage sensors being housed in the central passenger light led me to check and find that the central light was slightly dislodged. This seems to have stopped my random alarm problem - Excellent! Cheers.

    My 2000 9-5 Aero HOT estate's alarm goes off at random for short periods almost daily, even though I don't have a 'SERVICE THEFT ALARM' message on the SID, so I look forward to seeing how you go about rebuilding the sounder.
    I'd like the alarm to be in full working order all of the time, despite the fact that nobody ever steals Saabs in the UK.

      Lock with the key in the meantime, and if you get the chance, remove the siren. The next vid will be up in at least a few weeks, and then you can follow my instructions!

    Hej hej Trionic Seven,
    I recently bought my first Saab 9-5 2.0T '03 and after two weeks I got often disturbed by someone's alarm, until I found out it was mine. Thanks to you I'll be changing the batteries. Wish me luck!
    (Awesome channel by the way!)

    Good timing, the alarm on my Viggen just went off last night and yes, woke up the neighbors. It wouldn't shut off, not even with the keyfob unlocking the car or even starting the car. I had to disconnect the battery. This is round #2 for me, I replaced the batteries in the siren unit about 5 years ago. This time I just want to disconnect the siren box and remove it. Part 2 can't get here fast enough :)

      The reason I'm making the video on siren rebuild is because there's so much disinformation out there. The batteries isn't the only reason for the failure, it's got a lot to do with capacitors and bad soldering. Hope to get the rebuild done soon :D

      Fantastic 💃🕺👍!!! I tried to cut off the movement sensor of my Saab 9-3 2007. SID, " doors only". Didn't work. So I could not leave my dog in the car. The Saab is as we speak in Germany, driven by my girlfriend s dochter of 23 years old. The girls like to Speed hard. No problem for me or the tuned Saab. When they return I try "the key-tric"😁! I expect it will work out positive. Many thanks 🎆🎊🤹🎂🤸. Kind regards from the Netherlands!

    Hello, I have a 2008 9-5. Can I swap in the siren box from an earlier model (one with the screws?)?
    Does something need to be programmed with a Tech-II, or is it plug-and-play?

    Looking forward to part 2. My siren is disconnected by the previous owners mechanic, not sure if it's still there because it kept going off. I have a OG9-5 and hopefully it'll give some insight although my car's "too" old.

    I pulled a spare alarm module from a donor car same make/model/year. Is it possible I can refurbish that one then just swap out the original alarm module with a refurbished one? Without a Tech II of course. If nothing else I'll plan to open up this donor alarm just to do trial run for seeing how hard it is to refurbish the battery if I have to do it on my own original alarm. Thanks for your helpful video and suggestions. Kind of like having everything still work including alarm, just don't want the random alarms & constant SID warnings any longer. If it proves too difficult, I'll make trip to technician with Tech II to disable, but hope I can avoid disabling alarm.

    • @TrionicSeven
      @TrionicSeven  7 років тому

      Yep, you can refurbish it, and you won't need a tech2. Just follow my alarm siren rebuild guide and you'll be done!

    My Saab 9-5 2005 45,000 miles has issue with keys wont lock car i synced it manually, works great but then stops again when i leave car dont think i saved it once got in program mode. Could it be the receiver box not the one around the ignition tho or could it be ignition, the car knows the doors are shut ie the door switches the radio turns off when pull key out ignition, door locks work fine ?? Please no one can figure this out,ANY question welcome p.s tanks for the video really.

    Could this module affect engine spark/fuel from operating, even when seemingly unlocked & ready to turn by the key fob? My 2002 9-3 is throwing service immobiliser code every few days as well as dry cranking episodes weekly to my annoyance. Only way to have if fire again is remove power at the earth terminal for about 15 min, simply removing ECU fuse for the same period doesn't remedy the problem. I have swapped ECUs to see if that helped (now running SID) still same issue. I love my SAAB but sitting in a shopping centre car park for 15 min with my hood up looks silly :)

    • @TrionicSeven
      @TrionicSeven  7 років тому

      Hm...if you get an immobilizer warning you probably have a different issue than the alarm siren failing. Could your transponder antenna be going bad?

    When I lock my 99 T5 OG93 with only the key, the alarm seems to be set, as the LED is flashing once. What could be done is to lock the drivers door from the passenger seat, and lock the other doors before exiting from the passenger door, so all doors are locked but alarm is not set.

    Hej, tack för alla grymma videor. Jag köpte precis en saab 9-5 04:a, och detta problemet med larmet började precis just nu här i natten, precis som för dig. Jag har en saab 9-3 00:a som har lite för mycket fel på sig för att vara värd att fixa, kan jag ta larmet från saab 9-3an och sätta i 9-5an?

    Hey! Im so grateful for all your videos, i watched them all and you have really helped me. My 9-5 is really moonwalking in to its glory days, but it still have many problems, one of them being the alarmsystem.
    I want to take the sirenbox out so i can lock the car with the centrallock, then order all the caps and batteries to rebuild it. My question is, can the siren still go off when its unplugged? do i need to saw my siren open and pull the batteries right away?

    • @TrionicSeven

      The surströmming sensor is an optional but popular addon to the alarm system. It's located between the blinker fluid reservoir and the piston return spring tensioner.

    Our 9-5 alarm sounder unit died a few years ago and since we've had it disabled. We still get the "check theft alarm" fault but we can live with it.
    I'm worried about the alarm going off and us not being able too hear it, draining that battery.

    • @TrionicSeven
      @TrionicSeven  7 років тому

    The easiest thing is to just unplug it, that way you can easily just reach in to the alarm and disconnect it, and you won't have to go through the pain of getting the alarm Box out of the car.

    • @TrionicSeven
      @TrionicSeven  7 років тому

      Is it really possible to reach in and grab the cable?

    • @MrAkurvaeletbe

      Yeah, but you need to remove the wheel or turn it all the way to the right (but much easier to just remove) then loosen the "wheelwell cover" at the front and reach up with a screwdriver to unplug it:)

      Removing a fuse will also disable the A/C, so it's not a very good workaround.
