ive been told this using passenger door with key inside fob whilst garage has deactivated alarm same time but no going back. It had been about 90 all day and i may not have shut boot properly/sticks? as on arrival at garage embarrassingly found it slightly open tho didnt sound for 14 hours ;neighbours were raging so no going back as unpredictability seems a theme of this alarm system.Garage may even have had a tech 2 .I use old-fashioned steering and tyre locks
@@thomasbertrand5544 The way is sounds is irrelevant, there will still be an alarm module, normally located behind the drivers side wheel well (UK). This is so that theives can't simply remove the car battery to stop the car alarm
I tried this and now the tech 2 will no longer work with the car. It says "wrong year or model selected" when trying to read anything. Ever ran into that before?
I tried that , It was ok fro two days then started again ., I guess it reset it self . Now alarm still going on and off and door locks keeps locking and unlocking while driving .
By doing this, you are effectively removing the alarm from the ecu, the alarm is disabled. It can't reset itself. If it's still going off, you haven't followed the instructions. You can turn off the auto locking with the tech 2
Hi! Does this affect the remote door locks? My alarm would go off randomly on my 2002 Saab 9-3 convert that doesn't have a CANDI interface, too old I think? So I went and removed the entire alarm module from under the left front wheel well. I did this the day after purchasing the car at which time the remote door locks worked and didn't after removing the alarm module. I purchased new caps and batteries for the alarm module but I haven't done the repair yet. Thanks! BTW, I do have a Tech 2.
Thanks for the video. I have a Saab 9.3 Convertable 2006. My alram goes off any old time that it wants. How does one get security access on the diagnostic device (Tech2) ? I don't know how to do that.
You need to connect the Tech2 to a old PC using an RS232 serial wire which should have been included with it, and use the software TIS2000. There are videos showing how to do this
i was sent to find year of yr car 2006 cus saab mechanic with tech 2 says disabling as in the film here may cause other problems ;mines a 2005 aero .Dont know if this is his mistake or not...
Find someone who has one. Or just un-install the alarm module from the wheel well - but if you use this method the car will show a clearable error on the SID every time you start the car
My 2007 alarm is horn and hazard lights only (no siren for USA market Saabs) - the alarm module is under left hand side front facia / panel to the left of the steering wheel (Left Hand steering). If I unplug the connector to this module, I no longer have working door locks or windows. It would seem this module is integrated into the functionality of these components - so disabling the alarm by removing the module would not be a solution. Hence I am now seeking a Tech-2 / Saab experienced shop to disable - lovely. Thx for this video - otherwise this is a great automobile. Cheers. @@SaabUnleashed

I took the bumper off and headlight and stabbed the speaker in a blind rage with a screw driver job done 😂
My 9-5 is going off right now and I want to drive it into the river lol
Will try this out, I've been having to lock my car manually overnight without using key fob and putting steering wheel lock on!

Thanks you really helped me a lot!!!
With the tech2 you can find out what is causing the alarm to go off. Can be a door sensor, interior sensors or the built in battery in the siren.
90% of the time it's the battery in the siren
@@SaabUnleashed In my 2006 Saab the alarm sound is the car horn and not a siren. So I guess there would be no battery for it ?

Yeah this would be helpful.. Maybe in another year he'll kindly tell us.

Is there a way to disconnect the alarm itself. I'm no where near anyone with a tech 2 or the means of getting my hands on one
Yes, you can unplug the siren in the drivers wheel well, but this will result in an error on your dashboard every time you start the car
@@SaabUnleashed is there a video for this?
@@SaabUnleashed NO! because the lights will go with the allarm and will drain the battery!
is the Tech 2 the only way of doing this? i have a higher end diagnostic tool. will this work?
It needs to be a GM tool, either a Tech 2 or an MDI
What screen did you put over the radio and how did you mount it.
It's not a screen over the radio, it's a different touch screen radio. I have done videos on my channel showing it, including how to install
