  • What is mobile photography? In what way does it mark the processes of communication and transform the forms and structures of professional photography? iRevolution is a reflection on the use of the mobile telephone as a tool of photography, its potential, its limits, its planning and authorial use, its impact on visual language and its marketing mechanisms. It is an attempt to write the history of the present, reasoning on some interrogatives that mark contemporary photography: can mobile photography be considered a new language? Does the technical knowledge that is behind the production of an image taken by a professional make a difference with respect to the action of pressing a button on a smartphone? In a world in which everyone can record any event with their phone, what role do professional photographers play?
