This was short. On the plus side, when you finally meet back up with that woman who dropped you in the pit, it will be pretty cathartic when you beat her.
Yeah. At that point hitting reset will save you a bunch of time. I think you are going the right way but I think you need to take one of the other paths. However, like I said before, this is my least favorite part of the game. The only other part that I don't like is the encounter rate of the final dungeon but you can push through or flee. Here you are stuck. It SUCKS. Good luck and don't kick yourself for opening a guide. This game warrants it from time to time.
Thank you for pointing the way. Being that close was frustrating, more so how easily it is to suddenly be at the start of that LONG dungeon all over again.

This generation of system is infamous for being ridiculous in regards to level design. Keep doing what you do best
