And so many others. AND THEY WENT AHEAD AND BETRAYED US! AND ARE STILL BETRAYING US! I have been a targeted individual the last 30 years, and every American needs to HEAR MY STORY, because what the monsters did to ME, they are now doing to YOU ALL. When the criminal harassment by agents started in 87-88, they had a legit right to watch me. At the time, I was young and wild and dating a drug dealer. I stopped dating him and stopped all drug use in 88, but the harassment never stopped. They have tapped every phone, hacked every computer and criminally and repeatedly entered every home i have lived in during these years since. I now don't leave my home unless I hire a house sitter because the filthy agents refuse to STAY OUT OF MY HOME. I couldn't understand for years, WHY they were targeting me. I'm married, don't do anything illegal and am a Christian since 94. It wasn't until 2018 that I knew WHY. I was sick with a skin disorder that I am now convinced was another bioweapon being tested on us. I was examining my skin with a magnifier when i found strange, matching sets of holes in my inner wrists and knees. They looked like tiny tunnels, but couldn't be seen with the naked eye. I had no idea how they got in my skin, and I hadn't seen any doctors or taken any shots in years. So I got out a sterile needle and opened up those holes and took samples from them and viewed it under my microscope. (A hobby I have had many years.) I was speechless at what I found. I t was a clear, COMPUTERIZED GEL, and it was laid out in a ladder shaped grid system, that had tiny rice shaped batteries around it's outer perimeter. It had pine tree shaped antennas that had perfectly symmetrical branches with metallic looking little balls on the tip of every branch. It was slowly collapsing it's structure as it cooled to room temperature. I had never seen anything like it in my life. Finding this tech in my body explained many things I had wondered about the last twenty years. It explained why I heard a man's voice in my head sometimes. It explained why he pretended to be GOD that the things he said weren't always Godly. It explained why things got moved or hidden from me during my sleep, and why I was WATCHED CONSTANTLY through my OWN EYES. The FILTHY, DISGUSTING, LOWLIFE MONSTERS HAD HACKED MY BRAIN, and it was WORSE THAN RAPE! I told my local chief of police, when I reported finding it, that at least a woman can HEAL after being raped. There is no 'healing' from this, according to what Elon Musk says in his videos. He sells this stuff, though I cannot imagine why ANYONE in their right mind would EVER want it!! I found a picture of it right on DARPA'S website, under Obama Brain Initiative. I KNEW what would be in the vax when they said one was coming, and unfortunately, I was right. Dr Carrie Madej, and Dr Ricardo Delgado were some of the first to identify it in the shots. It's also in the masks/tests, and swabs, and NOW they are putting it in our FOOD/BEV AND MILK!!! I am here to tell you that this absolutely EVIL tech from HELL is FAR MORE than 'gene therapy'!!! I worked for Dr. Evans for 10 years, and like you, Nick, I listened to him a lot during a few difficult seasons of life. God is righteous but He is also gracious and merciful. We need to also forgive, show mercy, and pray for restoration. This is such a good reminder that none of us are above temptation.

His personal plight is his burden to bear but I refuse to judge him or let whatever mistake he made erase the fact that he was responsible for teaching me and changing my spiritual outlook.
Tony Evans himself said, "While I have committed no crime, I did not use righteous judgement in my actions." I wonder how many other Christians have ever used bad judgements at times, and then regretted it. My prayers go to Tony - as does my appreciation for him.
He had to commit a crime for Sin is the transgression of the LAW. You can not be in sin without breaking the LAW. He is referring to the Laws of the World, which shows he is not a man of God as he puts the laws of man over the Laws of God. I had never heard of him until today because I try to be careful to whom I listen to and what Bible study tools I read. We don't know what this long time pastor did, but what pastor standing on the stage Sunday mornings is perfect, sinless? None. Every pastor, theologian, elder and teacher falls miles short of God's glory.

No one needs to know what his sin is. God knows. Our job is to pray. If other Pastor would take his lead we wouldn't have leaders sinning in an epidemic proportion.
If it affects the Church he needs to so he can get accountability so it won't happen again. If not he may be more careful to cover up. Remember, it was the Elders that brought it to him, he didn't volunteer.

I have been listening to Pastor Tony Evans since my son passed away is 2017. My 91 year old client introduced me to him. We listened to him on AM radio every morning. I have really learned a lot from him throughout the years. I pray for Pastor Tony Evans to be restored and strengthened in the spirit. I pray his wife, daughters, and sons support him during these difficult times. God forgives us all. We just have to confess our sins and ask for forgiveness and mean it from our hearts. I had been going to OCBF since age 9. I'm 42 now and still enjoy Dr. Tony Evans teachings. His teachings brought my mom to Christ nearly 36 years ago, so I grew up in a Christian home. I'm saddened that he is leaving but I'm happy that he knows when its best to step down. ❤ ❤ ❤

I have never heard of him until today but it sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders. Unless he did something so horrendous, he should still be on that stage on Sundays. There isn't a single pastor, elder, theologian, or teacher that doesn't sin and they all fall miles short of God's glory. If you want to continue to listen to his sermons, please continue.

I just started listening to him. I now feel tricked. This is why no one wants to go to church. Paul wrote in New Testament about a leader being above reproach. Everyone is covering up. God comes first. No human is above His law. Regardless of how much he is liked. He was in a position of power. Still, he refuses to admit. Why a few years? What about conviction?
I listened to Pastor Tony Evans for the first time last night. The message title “How the enemy tries to distract you from God’s plan” and I was truly blessed by it. I applauded his courage to step down, and I pray that God continues to strengthen him in Jesus Name.
I don't know Tony Evens and all I can say is at least he came forward before he was exposed, and he stepped down without trying to cover things up or deny them. Also, if you have any discernment, you should be able to see that God is bringing judgment to the pulpits in this season.

Using that verse of scripture during the time when sin is brought up is the fruit of one who is making excuses for his action. The devil has so many walking without heart and conscience. And this is why people tear other people up and refuse to even feel bad about it to the point of being moved to repent. It’s all about they feel and can receive from God and others. While giving nothing in return to them but cruelty. And for this reason are many in the church today lost, and are headed to hell. Because the very heart of this people is wrong, and in the wrong place.
@agag4866 since he isn't Christ, he's done what is needed for himself and his congregation. Jesus had followers who walked with him and they made errors in judgement. He allowed them to repent and move forward in their ministry. He did not hold them to the world's standard, but His. Who are we to say what standard Tony Evans or anyone else should be held to. We are not God, we are not God's emissaries and we surely ain't Jesus. If you are a Christian, since he has confessed that he's a sinner and stepped down from the pulpit, you should be exercising a spirit of grace. If you are not a Christian, you shouldn't be commenting on the situation at all. God does not operate the way the world does and His ways are not our ways. His standard is not our standard. If it was, we'd all be in trouble. Tend to your own sins and leave others alone, because while you are trying to expose him you may get more than you bargained for.
@truthforbearer1313 there's a difference between making excuses for someone and showing grace to a repentant man. If you are taken in a fault, would you want to air your sins to the world. The Bible never told us to do that. The problem with people is they want to mix God's word with their own version of repentance. If you are a part of God's church then you should be using God's way to deal with the issues of life not the world's. Yes the heart is evil continuously, but we can all be transformed by the renewing of our mind, using God's word as our guide. The church is faltering because people won't read and study God's word for themselves. They're lazy in studying the Bible and they run to social media for guidance instead of running to God. From the pulpit to the door, everyone is looking for an easy way out. This man has fallen short of the world's expectations of him, but God knew about this situation before Dr Evans was born. And yet, He has brought him to this place to humble him even more for the work He (God) has placed in him. If everyone focused on God's word as this man is doing, we'd all be better off. He didn't have to go public and he didn't have to step down, but because of his integrity and his walk with God, this is what he chose to do and I applaud him for not just being a reader of the word but a doer also. This man will constantly be attacked by the enemy because he is using God's word to give Kingdom principles to a fallen nation. Did you not think the enemy would attack him and his church? The level of community work they're putting out, the training and teaching they're providing to the area, their random acts of kindness, their agenda to turn the children back to God and giving men the Godly tools they need to come back to being responsible to their families. Teaching young men to be responsible in their dealings with the young ladies. No one is excusing anything, we're just not focused on it, because the work still needs to be done. The focus should be to keep the ministry going and let God take care of His business with Dr. Evans. I'm still praying for him and his church.
Lets lift Dr. TONY EVANS up in prayer during this season in ecclesiastes 3-- "a time to tear and a time to mend" as fellow Christians, its the Godly thing to do and its the least we can do to reciprocate support for the decades of powerful ministering unto the flock. Tony Evans is doing publicly what we all should be doing privately when we fall short. Sounds like he has sincerely repented, and God has forgiven him. The elders are in order to pull him away, and he's seeking restoration by stepping away. I hope he doesn't stay away too long. I believe he's a great preacher. Whatever the sin is, God can use him in a greater way to draw those who think they are not worthy of salvation to repent and be saved. Blessings to him and his family.

I love Dr. Pastor Tony Evans. His teachings helped me through a very dark time. He is doing the right thing by stepping down, biblically speaking. I met him not even a year ago. He came to the restaurant where I work. Such a nice man. Although, to be honest, he seemed kind of sad. He was in a party of about ten, all of whom seemed to be very talkative & outgoing, and he kinda sat there quietly, almost in his own world. When they were leaving, i greeted him by the foyer to say goodbye (i had already introduced myself & thanked him for his teachings) and one of his guys was like, “did you want a picture?” I didn’t, i actually was hoping for a prayer. But he didn’t really hear me say that and he just gave me a kind hug, and they left. He was so grandfatherly, just as I saw him on screen. I thought that his guy asking for a pic was kinda sad, because he probably always has to deal with that. People wanting to be seen with him, taking pics, wanting things from him, and maybe never really looking at him as just a normal person, someone who is also fighting this good fight of faith & struggling with things. I will be praying for him.

My wife and I were reading, nervous at the start that this would be another heartbreaking story of a Church leader caught in sin that the leadership around him was hiding. This is SO refreshingly not the case. We are not despondent but hopeful because our brother Dr. Tony Evans is not our hope, but a brother with us. Only Christ struggled in every way as we do, but without sin. Praise God that He is the Righteous One who lovingly gave himself for us, intercedes for us, and will come again for His bride. "Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless." May His glory shine through our continued repentance, lay people and leaders, when we find ourselves in sin. May we hold each other accountable for restoration as our goal and gentleness as our heart as we know we share a mutual nature that also wrestles with the flesh (Gal 6:1). May Christ be praised!
There is a difference between sinning and habitually deceiving people. I've always held T.E. in high regard and have used some of his material in my own sermons . I still believe he is a Godly man who needs our prayers . God Bless
Not trying to be rude, but Tony Evans must have did something really bad for it to still hold him back years later. We all have sinned, but this is heartbreaking for me I love his preaching. As long as he repents and God forgives then all the best for Tony Evans.

Maybe not. Sometimes I reflect on my past and it makes me feel so unclean and unworthy at times. While also making me appreciate God’s grace even more. Especially now that I’m a mother. It doesn’t have to always be something insane, but sin is sin and I’m sure as he grows older and closer to God he may just want be clean and correct. I commend him for stepping down. Even if his sin is a sin we all mostly do. Conviction is good
We need to stop worshipping man. There is only one God who is worth our admiration, but we love to put these popular preachers up on a pedestal and NOT hold them to a higher standard like Paul told us to. Wake up church! Wake up to what God is trying to tell us!
This entire message touched me greatly. I fell back into sin. The enemy tried to keep me there, but I confessed and admitted my sin to God. We are not deserving of such a loving, forgiving, and righteous Father. We must learn from our down falls and humble ourselves. We must be honest with the Lord, after all, He knows all. He is just waiting.

I got caught in sexual sin in my church and the pastor exposed me and shamed me in front of the entire congregation using the church discipline rule until this day not one person is talking to me. I had to get up and confess before the congregation before I could be reinstated, what’s the difference between Tony Evans and myself why is it when pastors are caught in sin they don’t come out and confess yet they will return right back to the pulpit after a lengthy sabbatical… Yet the sin was never confessed the Bible says that he who confesses his sin and for sakes it will obtain mercy
Was Dr. Evans the Pastor who did this? If not, why are you trying to hold him accountable for another pastor's wrongdoing? Dr. Evans doesn't owe you, me or anyone else an explanation and we don't need to know. Jesus died on the cross for his sins, my sins and yours, and Jesus is the only one he needs to repent to. And no, I'm making no excuses for him, but saints we need to be about God's business and not sinning ourselves. You do know gossiping is a sin, and this is gossiping and being judgemental. The same sin Dr. Evans has confessed to his Lord and Savior and his congregation. The sin of using poor judgement. I'm sorry your pastor was not loving, kind or considerate. It seems he also used poor judgement in handling your situation, and, I'm also sorry that your brothers and sisters in Christ were judgemental and unforgiving, but please do not allow this type of behavior from others to draw you away from what Christ has taught us and the ministry He has placed in you. Find your worth in Christ, not mankind. We don't give tit for tat. Jesus tells us to treat others as we want to be treated, not as they treat us. He also tells us that we will be known as His followers by the way we treat our brothers and sisters in Christ. This is what sets you apart as a true Christian. Forgive them for their mistreatment of you, and move forward in Christ, in His love, allowing even this horrible experience to be used as a teaching moment for yourself and others. This is honestly heartbreaking. I love that he's decided to step down because at the end of the day, what it seems like, is that whatever the "old sin" was, it's about to be come up like vomit. It's better to get ahead of the frenzy humbly than to let it surface while he's still on the pulpit. I just pray that whatever it is, it isn't humiliating. I love Tony's teachings, he's helped me grow in faith so much but sadly, this year of exposure has left no one untouched. We've seen others not step down due to pride and it's not served them well. I used to listen to him all the time and he truly helped me through my time of darkness. I'm just glad he's repenting now and I'm glad he's doing the right thing and setting down until he gets right with God. We have so many "so called preacher" that keeps sinning and tell you that "i know God will forgive" and keep right on sinning

I have listened to Dr. Tony Evans for years. I still listen to him every now and then. I will pray for him and that God restores and refreshes him. I still believe him to be a man who is sincere🙏🏿

I went to his church . There was a standard there you don’t normally see in black churches. No foolishness. No playing around. Not trying to appeal to the world. I’m saying that, we need pastors like him out here . Because what we have left is a circus. I’ll take Tony with whatever sin over 90 % of blsck pastors out here. So sorry to hear this. I Listen to Tony Evans frequently because his sermons have help me hold on to Hope and stay focus on God. I’m going through some difficult trials right now so a lot of his sermons hit on the nail of what I’m experiencing. I applaud him for being convicted enough to say he was wrong. No one is perfect and we will all fall no matter if we are Christians or not. God is the only one that is perfect , we will never be perfect so all we can do is , do our best to live a righteous life, be obedient and faithful to God, it is tough when we live in a world full of sin but as Christians we must remember we live in the world but must not be of the world. It’s difficult but all we can do is our best and when we fall get back up every time and consistently stay strong and in prayer and stay in Faith in God .🙏🏼

For the forgiveness of sins, you're right -- we need to confess to God only. However, for accountability purposes there may be circumstances in which a Pastor should confess to his congregation, because he has been in a position of trust.
For years, I listened and learned from Dr. Evans. Pray for his restoration and healing from his transgression. He’s a fallen man and stepping down is the best decision he could make. Dr. Evans can be forgiven if he genuinely repents. God is patient with us when our heart is righteous. I believe nothing is impossible with Jesus Christ. 🙏🏾🔥💫
Shalom from Texas, I use to watch a lot of Tony Evans sermons as well as his books, and I stopped a few yrs ago because it was a season of exposure in the church and I didn't want to be attached by any of them. For whatever reason he is stepping down, who are we to speak about it. I just pray for all pastors to do an inventory as we should all be doing it on a daily basis.
A hard heart will also not be tolerated in the kingdom of heaven. No one should have they mouth on the Lords anointed. We send towards God not men. Therefore it’s between God in him.

I have been a targeted individual the last 30 years, and every American needs to HEAR MY STORY, because what the monsters did to ME, they are now doing to YOU ALL.
When the criminal harassment by agents started in 87-88, they had a legit right to watch me. At the time, I was young and wild and dating a drug dealer. I stopped dating him and stopped all drug use in 88, but the harassment never stopped. I now don't leave my home unless I hire a house sitter because the filthy agents refuse to STAY OUT OF MY HOME. I couldn't understand for years, WHY they were targeting me. I'm married, don't do anything illegal and am a Christian since 94. It wasn't until 2018 that I knew WHY. I was sick with a skin disorder that I am now convinced was another bioweapon being tested on us. I was examining my skin with a magnifier when i found strange, matching sets of holes in my inner wrists and knees. They looked like tiny tunnels, but couldn't be seen with the naked eye. I had no idea how they got in my skin, and I hadn't seen any doctors or taken any shots in years. So I got out a sterile needle and opened up those holes and took samples from them and viewed it under my microscope. (A hobby I have had many years.) I was speechless at what I found. I t was a clear, COMPUTERIZED GEL, and it was laid out in a ladder shaped grid system, that had tiny rice shaped batteries around it's outer perimeter. It had pine tree shaped antennas that had perfectly symmetrical branches with metallic looking little balls on the tip of every branch. It was slowly collapsing it's structure as it cooled to room temperature. I had never seen anything like it in my life. Finding this tech in my body explained many things I had wondered about the last twenty years. It explained why I heard a man's voice in my head sometimes. It explained why he pretended to be GOD that the things he said weren't always Godly. It explained why things got moved or hidden from me during my sleep, and why I was WATCHED CONSTANTLY through my OWN EYES. The FILTHY, DISGUSTING, LOWLIFE MONSTERS HAD HACKED MY BRAIN, and it was WORSE THAN RAPE! I told my local chief of police, when I reported finding it, that at least a woman can HEAL after being raped. There is no 'healing' from this, according to what Elon Musk says in his videos. He sells this stuff, though I cannot imagine why ANYONE in their right mind would EVER want it!! I found a picture of it right on DARPA'S website, under Obama Brain Initiative. I KNEW what would be in the vax when they said one was coming, and unfortunately, I was right. Dr Carrie Madej, and Dr Ricardo Delgado were some of the first to identify it in the shots. It's also in the masks/tests, and swabs, and NOW they are putting it in our FOOD/BEV AND MILK!!! I am here to tell you that this absolutely EVIL tech from HELL is FAR MORE than 'gene therapy'!!! It lets the filthy monsters see and hear every thought we have! It lets them talk to us mentally. I worked for Dr. Evans for 10 years, and like you, Nick, I listened to him a lot during a few difficult seasons of life. God is righteous but He is also gracious and merciful. We need to also forgive, show mercy, and pray for restoration. This is such a good reminder that none of us are above temptation.

I had never heard of him until today because I try to be careful to whom I listen to and what Bible study tools I read. We don't know what this long time pastor did, but what pastor standing on the stage Sunday mornings is perfect, sinless? None. I have been listening to Pastor Tony Evans since my son passed away is 2017. My 91 year old client introduced me to him. We listened to him on AM radio every morning. I have really learned a lot from him throughout the years. I pray for Pastor Tony Evans to be restored and strengthened in the spirit. I pray his wife, daughters, and sons support him during these difficult times. God forgives us all. We just have to confess our sins and ask for forgiveness and mean it from our hearts. I have never heard of him until today but it sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders. Unless he did something so horrendous, he should still be on that stage on Sundays. There isn't a single pastor, elder, theologian, or teacher that doesn't sin and they all fall miles short of God's glory. If you want to continue to listen to his sermons, please continue.

I just started listening to him. I now feel tricked. This is why no one wants to go to church. Paul wrote in New Testament about a leader being above reproach. Everyone is covering up. God comes first. No human is above His law. Regardless of how much he is liked. He was in a position of power. Still, he refuses to admit. Why a few years? What about conviction?

I listened to Pastor Tony Evans for the first time last night. The message title “How the enemy tries to distract you from God’s plan” and I was truly blessed by it. I applauded his courage to step down, and I pray that God continues to strengthen him in Jesus Name.
Tony Evans has true faith. His sermons are biblically sound. He is a sinner like any of us. The elders are doing their function.
I appreciate him being human enough to call out his disobedience and seek help. God bless you and your family Pastor Evan’s🙏

I don't know Tony Evens and all I can say is at least he came forward before he was exposed, and he stepped down without trying to cover things up or deny them. Also, if you have any discernment, you should be able to see that God is bringing judgment to the pulpits in this season.

Using that verse of scripture during the time when sin is brought up is the fruit of one who is making excuses for his action. The devil has so many walking without heart and conscience. And this is why people tear other people up and refuse to even feel bad about it to the point of being moved to repent.
It’s all about they feel and can receive from God and others. While giving nothing in return to them but cruelty. And for this reason are many in the church today lost, and are headed to hell.

@agag4866 since he isn't Christ, he's done what is needed for himself and his congregation. Jesus had followers who walked with him and they made errors in judgement. He allowed them to repent and move forward in their ministry. He did not hold them to the world's standard, but His. Who are we to say what standard Tony Evans or anyone else should be held to. We are not God, we are not God's emissaries and we surely ain't Jesus. If you are a Christian, since he has confessed that he's a sinner and stepped down from the pulpit, you should be exercising a spirit of grace. If you are not a Christian, you shouldn't be commenting on the situation at all. God does not operate the way the world does and His ways are not our ways. His standard is not our standard. If it was, we'd all be in trouble. Tend to your own sins and leave others alone, because while you are trying to expose him you may get more than you bargained for.
@truthforbearer1313 there's a difference between making excuses for someone and showing grace to a repentant man. If you are taken in a fault, would you want to air your sins to the world. The Bible never told us to do that. The problem with people is they want to mix God's word with their own version of repentance. If you are a part of God's church then you should be using God's way to deal with the issues of life not the world's. Yes the heart is evil continuously, but we can all be transformed by the renewing of our mind, using God's word as our guide. The church is faltering because people won't read and study God's word for themselves. They're lazy in studying the Bible and they run to social media for guidance instead of running to God. From the pulpit to the door, everyone is looking for an easy way out. This man has fallen short of the world's expectations of him, but God knew about this situation before Dr Evans was born. And yet, He has brought him to this place to humble him even more for the work He (God) has placed in him. If everyone focused on God's word as this man is doing, we'd all be better off. He didn't have to go public and he didn't have to step down, but because of his integrity and his walk with God, this is what he chose to do and I applaud him for not just being a reader of the word but a doer also. This man will constantly be attacked by the enemy because he is using God's word to give Kingdom principles to a fallen nation. Did you not think the enemy would attack him and his church? The level of community work they're putting out, the training and teaching they're providing to the area, their random acts of kindness, their agenda to turn the children back to God and giving men the Godly tools they need to come back to being responsible to their families. Teaching young men to be responsible in their dealings with the young ladies. No one is excusing anything, we're just not focused on it, because the work still needs to be done. The focus should be to keep the ministry going and let God take care of His business with Dr. Evans. I'm still praying for him and his church.

Tony Evans is doing publicly what we all should be doing privately when we fall short. Sounds like he has sincerely repented, and God has forgiven him. The elders are in order to pull him away, and he's seeking restoration by stepping away. I hope he doesn't stay away too long. I believe he's a great preacher. Whatever the sin is, God can use him in a greater way to draw those who think they are not worthy of salvation to repent and be saved. Blessings to him and his family.

I love Dr. Pastor Tony Evans. His teachings helped me through a very dark time. He is doing the right thing by stepping down, biblically speaking.
I met him not even a year ago. He came to the restaurant where I work. Such a nice man. Although, to be honest, he seemed kind of sad. He was in a party of about ten, all of whom seemed to be very talkative & outgoing, and he kinda sat there quietly, almost in his own world. When they were leaving, i greeted him by the foyer to say goodbye (i had already introduced myself & thanked him for his teachings) and one of his guys was like, “did you want a picture?” I didn’t, i actually was hoping for a prayer. But he didn’t really hear me say that and he just gave me a kind hug, and they left. He was so grandfatherly, just as I saw him on screen. I thought that his guy asking for a pic was kinda sad, because he probably always has to deal with that. People wanting to be seen with him, taking pics, wanting things from him, and maybe never really looking at him as just a normal person, someone who is also fighting this good fight of faith & struggling with things.
I will be praying for him.

My wife and I were reading, nervous at the start that this would be another heartbreaking story of a Church leader caught in sin that the leadership around him was hiding. This is SO refreshingly not the case. We are not despondent but hopeful because our brother Dr. Tony Evans is not our hope, but a brother with us. Only Christ struggled in every way as we do, but without sin. Praise God that He is the Righteous One who lovingly gave himself for us, intercedes for us, and will come again for His bride. "Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless." May His glory shine through our continued repentance, lay people and leaders, when we find ourselves in sin. May we hold each other accountable for restoration as our goal and gentleness as our heart as we know we share a mutual nature that also wrestles with the flesh (Gal 6:1).

There is a difference between sinning and habitually deceiving people. I've always held T.E. in high regard and have used some of his material in my own sermons . I still believe he is a Godly man who needs our prayers . God Bless

It was bad enough (for him) - God corrects those that he loves. The Holy Spirit will keep convicting you if you haven’t addressed the sin (no matter how ‘big’ or ‘small’)

Maybe not. Sometimes I reflect on my past and it makes me feel so unclean and unworthy at times. While also making me appreciate God’s grace even more. Especially now that I’m a mother. It doesn’t have to always be something insane, but sin is sin and I’m sure as he grows older and closer to God he may just want be clean and correct. I commend him for stepping down. Even if his sin is a sin we all mostly do. Conviction is good

This entire message touched me greatly. I fell back into sin. The enemy tried to keep me there, but I confessed and admitted my sin to God. We are not deserving of such a loving, forgiving, and righteous Father. We must learn from our down falls and humble ourselves. We must be honest with the Lord, after all, He knows all. He is just waiting.

I got caught in sexual sin in my church and the pastor exposed me and shamed me in front of the entire congregation using the church discipline rule until this day not one person is talking to me. I had to get up and confess before the congregation before I could be reinstated, what’s the difference between Tony Evans and myself why is it when pastors are caught in sin they don’t come out and confess yet they will return right back to the pulpit after a lengthy sabbatical… Yet the sin was never confessed the Bible says that he who confesses his sin and for sakes it will obtain mercy
Was Dr. Evans the Pastor who did this? If not, why are you trying to hold him accountable for another pastor's wrongdoing? Dr. Evans doesn't owe you, me or anyone else an explanation and we don't need to know. Jesus died on the cross for his sins, my sins and yours, and Jesus is the only one he needs to repent to. And no, I'm making no excuses for him, but saints we need to be about God's business and not sinning ourselves. You do know gossiping is a sin, and this is gossiping and being judgemental. The same sin Dr. Evans has confessed to his Lord and Savior and his congregation. The sin of using poor judgement. I'm sorry your pastor was not loving, kind or considerate. It seems he also used poor judgement in handling your situation, and, I'm also sorry that your brothers and sisters in Christ were judgemental and unforgiving, but please do not allow this type of behavior from others to draw you away from what Christ has taught us and the ministry He has placed in you. Find your worth in Christ, not mankind. We don't give tit for tat. Jesus tells us to treat others as we want to be treated, not as they treat us. He also tells us that we will be known as His followers by the way we treat our brothers and sisters in Christ. This is what sets you apart as a true Christian. Forgive them for their mistreatment of you, and move forward in Christ, in His love, allowing even this horrible experience to be used as a teaching moment for yourself and others. Loved it.! I actually took notes for my husband who has fallen into adultery. Although our marriage is over. I pray that he truly repents from his sin and return to Jesus.

This is honestly heartbreaking. I love that he's decided to step down because at the end of the day, what it seems like, is that whatever the "old sin" was, it's about to be come up like vomit. It's better to get ahead of the frenzy humbly than to let it surface while he's still on the pulpit. I just pray that whatever it is, it isn't humiliating. I love Tony's teachings, he's helped me grow in faith so much but sadly, this year of exposure has left no one untouched. We've seen others not step down due to pride and it's not served them well. I'll definitely be praying for Tony & his family. 💔
He wouldn't have stepped down if it wasn't something humiliating. And remember, IT happened years ago, supposedly, and the elders now had to remove him.
I used to listen to him all the time and he truly helped me through my time of darkness. I'm just glad he's repenting now and I'm glad he's doing the right thing and setting down until he gets right with God. We have so many "so called preacher" that keeps sinning and tell you that "i know God will forgive" and keep right on sinning

Right! People be so quick to condemn a leader. David had favor with the The lord and was after the heart of God and yet he commuted adultery. None of us have it all together. Grace is much greater than our sin. The blood speaks on our Behalf. Sin cannot keep us bound.

I’m not saying other races churches are better because i don’t even deal with them. I’m saying the standard that was in Tony Evan’s church is rare in the blsck community these days. Most blsck churches are worldly and play on emotions and excitement more than teaching thoroughly like Tony Evans.

So sorry to hear this. I Listen to Tony Evans frequently because his sermons have help me hold on to Hope and stay focus on God. I’m going through some difficult trials right now so a lot of his sermons hit on the nail of what I’m experiencing. I applaud him for being convicted enough to say he was wrong. No one is perfect and we will all fall no matter if we are Christians or not. God is the only one that is perfect , we will never be perfect so all we can do is , do our best to live a righteous life, be obedient and faithful to God, it is tough when we live in a world full of sin but as Christians we must remember we live in the world but must not be of the world. It’s difficult but all we can do is our best and when we fall get back up every time and consistently stay strong and in prayer and stay in Faith in God .🙏🏼

For the forgiveness of sins, you're right -- we need to confess to God only. However, for accountability purposes there may be circumstances in which a Pastor should confess to his congregation, because he has been in a position of trust.
For years, I listened and learned from Dr. Evans. Pray for his restoration and healing from his transgression. He’s a fallen man and stepping down is the best decision he could make. Dr. Evans can be forgiven if he genuinely repents. God is patient with us when our heart is righteous. I believe nothing is impossible with Jesus Christ. 🙏🏾🔥💫
Shalom from Texas, I use to watch a lot of Tony Evans sermons as well as his books, and I stopped a few yrs ago because it was a season of exposure in the church and I didn't want to be attached by any of them. For whatever reason he is stepping down, who are we to speak about it. I just pray for all pastors to do an inventory as we should all be doing it on a daily basis.
