The point you made at the end was spot on. Competition drives innovation. When one company monopolizes nearly an entire industry, there is no longer any motivation to improve things.
That about sums it up. In addition, many of these companies no longer prioritize customer service. After all, if they lose one or two or even a dozen customers it doesn't really affect their "bottom line" to a point that it's even noticeable for them. I come from a 14+ year sales background - highly successful - as well as owning and managing my own rental properties for 20 years. I would NEVER even THINK of treating ANY customer or tenant the way that these companies treat many of us...
Love your Oakley videos, especially all your shoe reviews! My only thoughts on this particular video: a microfiber bag to fit a pair with non-folding arms would be huge, I've personally never seen one. Assembled in the USA is also tricky one.. To be considered USA made, 97% or more of the components have to be made here. I agree with the lack of serial number and the lens choice, but i think the frame color aligns with the future genesis theme, more neutral and monochromatic. Id love to see you do a review on a pair of glasses from Jim Jannard's new brand, MExperiment as well! Keep it up!
I agree with you about not being at the pinnacle of Oakley. I am not a fan of plastic glasses (I do have a couple pair) and the metal frames anymore seam the same. Nothing new and fun.
After having the opportunity to try them on in person, I do like the fit/design; however, I hate the color. 😞 Even at less than $360 (what I paid) I feel these are still too expensive.
Just a tip: There's nothing wrong with your camera it's the lighting, If you want your camera to properly focus on the subject with clarity i suggest not using warm lighting like you have at the moment, use cool lights. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tip! Yes, this video was shot on an iPhone 15 Pro and unfortunately I'm not an expert by any means when it comes to all the settings. Even so, I cannot understand how the engineers at apple failed to include some sort of software that would prevent the lenses from "alternating" right in the middle of recording, whereby the perspective "changes" and visually impairs the video. Until September (about two months from now), this is one of apple's "flagship" phones, just slightly behind the 15 Pro Max. Very disappointing from apple, especially at this price point. Just my opinion.
I was excited for the 13.11 when they first came out, then I saw the case and was like this is goofy... esp since the shades don't have a hinge to fold. They aren't as limited as they say they are. Wayyy too expensive for what they are - if they had serials numbers dope then maybe i justify 500$ usd but nope I'd rather get a similar model for way less, and more accessories haha. ( I still do like the 13.11 frame and look tho.) Anyways I can't wait for the Oakley Plantaris - have you seen the leaks?
Very valid points. Maybe even worth spending $500+ on M-Experiment and vintage (pre-luxottica trash) Oakleys. No, haven't seen the Plantaris yet but will keep a lookout! Thanks for watching and commenting!

The price is really really keeping me from getting a pair.. yeah it has a fancy case/box but it isn’t justifiable, just another Lux pair

@@nikeandaiza4521 Yeah, 360$ is a bit steep. Just too many other options that are better for that price!
😂😂 the 0:02 what's that
That's what happens when your camera lady is unavailable and you have to move FAST! 😀
@@nikeandaiza4521 camera lady huh?🤭
@@maneater3491 My beautiful wife wasn't available to shoot the video, so I had to fly solo.
