Hi from Perth! Sabaton love exploring history through music and do it brilliantly! Another great song using animation is Night Witches and again based on a true story. Welcome to the wonderful world of Reacting and I wish you great success!
Welcome to the Sabaton Army! They sing history so people won't forget what people have gone through, they even have their own history channel! I suggest for your next Sabaton song you should try 1916 or Christmas Truce. Maybe something like a concert video, "en livstid i krig", which is in Swedish but it has subtitles, It will knock your socks off. Loved your reaction to this wonderful story and hope to see you again with more Sabaton.
@@kazhannah i recommend more yarnhub videos too my favourite of theirs is that time a German requested a medal for his enemy and also i recommend the book no bullets fly cause there is more to the story like how badly franz was treated by Germany and Canadians too
Thank you so much for this reaction. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Sabaton. As Australis you will have to watch Cliffs of Gallopili. Christmas truce and Bismarck to follow. Love and peace from South Africa.
You should definitely look up photos of the B-17. You'd wonder how it kept flying. They don't call them flying fortresses for nothing- In an interview, when Franz was lining up the shot, he saw the tail gunner bleeding profusely and couldn't do it. Franz tried to get them to land in Germany and surrender, but Charlie refused. He then tried to get them to head towards neutral airspace, but Charlie refused again. So Franz escorted them to safety. He flew close enough to them so they wouldn't be hit by ground weapons. What a guy! After the war, he moved to Canada. When this story was made public in the 80s, Franz was called a traitor by his fellow Germans and a nazi by his fellow Canadians. Upon visiting a WWII party hosted by Charlie, he felt out of place. However Charlie told him "All of these people are here and alive because of you." Because Franz spared them, those men went on to have families and be happy.
Not sure if anyone else mentioned it, but if you really want to dive deeper into the story check out the book A Higher Call by Adam Makos. He spent months/years interviewing both men and getting their story down. Its an awesome book.
You need to see all the "Animated version" of Sabaton, there are 5 (This one, "Night Witches", "The Red Baron", "Lady of the Dark" and the last but not least, the "First Soldier")
Of course.Just be prepared, this particular hole have tons of different branches.A history channel with a historian breaking down the songs in detail. And then there's Tommy, the guitarist with his own band. Then there's his solo show that airs every Friday making insane covers of...idk, whatever he feels like doing Lol.Check out the 1 octave higher challenge by Tommy Johansson and you'll understand the madness of these guys Lol.
Franz Stigler once told, that his former Squadronleader spoke to the Pilots and told them, that they are Soldiers, not Murderers. And that he will execute the one himself if he gets aware that someone shoots at a Parachute. For Franz, the hardly fllying B17 was nothing more than a Parachute
When Hollywood decides to start to make movies again they could do themselves (and mankind) a favor if they start researching some Sabaton songs like No Bullets Fly or the Night Witches (a movie about actual brave women instead of the usual Hollywood crap). Great reaction & cheers from tha Low Countries (drill a straight hole through the centre of Earth and you can reach (& party) with us :)
I just hope that they won't do a woke adaptation. Hollywoke is getting pretty bad these days. If they would stay true to history they could also do well with the story of "Mad Jack Churchill". The real story is so wild most people would think it to be total fantasy. Truth is often stranger than fiction.
Oi! I just realised youre from down under for real.... ;) Sabaton made a Song about a forgotten ANZAC Hero! its the "Ballad of Bull". A Guy who really was kicked in the face by his country. I wonder if his name is known in any way today in Australia. Go, find out more!
Next up "Cliffs of Gallopili" so with Sabaton you have many types of video's to watch Official music video / live / Lyric / Animated Story / Fan made. Also they have there very own "Sabaton History Channel" on youtube were they cover the history behind the songs which is worth watching to get a better understanding
Sabaton is a Swedish with a loooong list of history based music. and also an award winning history channel (academic award, not music) that gives background to over 100 if their songs. Sabaton videos often have dedictions and/or messages at the end, perhaps not always but, watching to the very end is frequently well worth it. Animated STORY videos (short history lessons with music videos in them, just enough history to add to the feel of the music as you just saw) No bullets fly you just saw. Night witches Lady of the dark Red baron Christmas truce epic OFFICIAL videos. Bismark, about the sinking of the ship Defence of Moscow, self explained. Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914 40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939, they held their position for THREE DAYS. Uprising, the Warsaw Uprising against the nazi germans during 1944. To hell and back, they tell the story of Audie Murphy (highly decorated) and his struggle AFTER the war, so about PTSD and drug addiction that returning soldiers can face. Fields of verdun, the 300+ day long battle fought there. Price of a mile, about the battle of Passchendaele Screaming Eagles, about the battle of the bulge during ww2 1916 (cover of the Mötörhead song) Live performances 40:1 from poland Uprising from poland En livstid I krig live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish but there are subtitles) , very heavy again, about thoughts of a young man going to war. these are just some, there are plenty more from them
@@kazhannah i forgot one relevant to Australia, the ballad of bull, no spectacular video but about an Australian hero, Leslie “Bull” Allen, that retrieved 12 wounded from the battlefield while under heavy fire.
Nice reaction video. I love Sabaton. So you're from down under? Guess you've reacted to "Cliffs of Gallipoli" and "Ballad of Bull" already? :) If so, then you can always react to "To hell and Back, Night Witches (animated STORY version) or some of the newer stuff like "Soldier of Heaven" or "Stormtroopers". They're all great.
And to ADD to the myth of the legend of the german fighter pilot... He were trained NOT to shoot at pilots in their parachutes, because that would be vulgar. So, that B-17 were at its last leg, equal to be in its parachute. So he chose not to fire because it would have been a stain on his honor. ...and to know little bit more, IF he have downed that B-17, he would have gotten the Knight's Cross (he were 1 short of that). And he chose not to shoot. Hats off to him.
Welcome to the Sabaton rabbit hole they swedish metal band that only sing about historical events they never take sides Sabaton also have their own history channel called Sabaton History were they talk the history of the songs they do ALSO ALWAYS LET THE FULL VIDEO OFFICIAL VIDEOS PLAY TO THE END because there always surprises at the end few more to listen 2 are Bismark Night witches animated version To hell and back Christmas Truce and Sabatons cover and tribute to Lemmy of motor song 1916 my fav song of Sabatons The Winged Hussars Primo victoria ,Warsaw uprising the list is endless Also check out their live performances they are also great and every Sabaton video is a history lesson a small movie and masterpiece
Id definitely check out inmate 4859, story of Witold Pelecki, the only person in human history to say "i think ill sneak into Auschwitz and figure out what is happening there."
The skin on these bombers where no thinner then a sheet of paper. And not just the enemy was a issue. The plane was unpressurized and they had to worry a out the sweat icing up the the air lines, taking off the gloves could result in them leaving their skin on the metal. Not the mention these planes are extremely small for how big they are.
Unfortunately even these days many people still think every single German during WW2 was a Nazi, but there are a lot of stories that prove that most were just men in a horrible situation. Franz Stigler was a damn good man and an honourable German fighter pilot and its criminal that his story is not more widely known.
Thank you for your reaction
Thank you for watching Jovita! 😎🤟🤙👋
