Locally we do use few bay leves and whole allspice pepper corn. In addition it is better if do not boill the fish, just add salmon into hot soup and let it rest 5-10min
We went to Finland in the summer, and we had it so many times, like you wouldn’t believe. It tastes way more delicious than it already looks! Try it. You won’t regret it. The salmon should be the best one you can get, though. Thank you 🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮!
Just wanted to say thank you, because of you I make this food in the winter time. More like staple food in my home. My family loves it so much! Thank you
In place of fish stock, use Swanson’s chicken broth or stock. Either is great for this recipe. It came out delicious! - Just plain water? That’s a big, NO.
Toasted Finnish Rye bread (ruisleipä) with butter and a pinch of sea salt would be the local way. Here’s a recipe: www.nordickitchenstories.co.uk/2021/02/24/finnish-sourdough-rye-ruisleipa-recipe/
OMG! That’s beautiful! I could make variations on this 3 times a week and have leftovers. High in protein, I could forgo the potatoes to cut down on carbs. 👍👍
The dill is a real difference maker here. It grows pretty well in a lot of gardens if your grocery doesn’t have it, which I am really sorry if your grocery store doesn’t carry dill i put it in so much
Hello, we are the production team of TVNSTORY, a Korean entertainment station. We invite foreign young parents living in Korea to tell them how they live and what Korean culture is like I left a comment because our cast member is from Finland, so I wanted to use salmon soup, which is usually eaten in Finland, as a source screen. Can I use it?
@@angelamcentee1277 what my concern was, using something fake wont work as cream. but you can use turkish yoghurt. the original one. thats why i have corrected you. just because you not to use the fake one.

Will the salmon be fully cooked or kinda medium-rare?

Totally agree! I live in Scotland so the salmon is amazing by default!
just had this today for dinner. so hearty and tasty!
It really is!
I made this and loved it. Helps that I'm generally a huge salmon fan.
I just finished making it and tastes so good ❤❤❤❤

Thx for the lovely video ❤
it will be bad

I am going to use fish cubes and in her website she said it’s okay to use them
Looks so delicious and tasty
I would probably sear the salmon quickly in some butter before putting it in the pot :3 mmm
Wow, thanks to you, I enjoyed watching... I'm proud of you for developing day by day.
GORGEOUS!
Don't need salt??
What should I pair this with? Garlic bread? Sour dough? Suggestions? I am going to try this perfect for freezing and long Minnesota winter!
Sour dough works for me, but you can try it with any kind of bread!

Dark rye bread for sure (in Finnish culture)
We have with just plain crust bread.x
Dark rye sourdough is traditional. There might even be some around in Minnesota, given it's part of the north-middle-USAnian nordic cluster.
Gonna to try this weekend!
Thanks for sharing 👍
Soup looks quite good. Where would I get the fish stock?
You can buy it in stock cubes or powder, or boil it yourself from fish heads/bones. Just dont use fatty fish like salmon for the stock
Yummy. But any alternative for double cream? Almond, coconut milk? Or any?
Cheese
We Asians use a lot of coconut milk in our soups you can’t go wrong with it 😂
What can be an alternative to dill?
OMG! That’s beautiful! I could make variations on this 3 times a week and have leftovers. High in protein, I could forgo the potatoes to cut down on carbs.
👍👍
Sounds great!
Whats the best way to make fish stock?
Can you just boil whats left on the spine after you filet?
That works, also you can use The fish head on fish stock.
what is "double cream"?
I think its whipping cream or heavy cream for Americans. Just double check
Heavy cream
if you want to add a little extra, white wine goes rly well in the soup
Great idea 👍
Подскажите, пожалуйста, как вы получили рыбный бульон? Отварили голову лосося?
is fish stock only salmon source?
finnish salmon soup is soooooo good, lov it
This soup is so good, I made myself a gigantic bowl and couldn't Finnish it! 😁
Great job!
😂😂
finish* Finnish is a nationality, and it’s not grammatically correct in the use of the sentence.v
If I don't have dill, and I replace with other herbs? Thanks!
Well.. the taste won't be the same!
Not a tragedy, dill is poison anyway.
I know I'm late but...I bet thyme would be super good

Parsley
does this freeze well?
it freezes ok, the potatoes goes a little soft, everything else is just as good
where million-like button❤Every time I cook only according to this recipe
Is the salmon precooked or you just put it in the soup as is
I used fresh salmon as is.

Traditionaly a stock cube IS used in Finland
Could Greek yoghurt be added at the end instead of cream?
No, I don't think so because it will split.
