    Locally we do use few bay leves and whole allspice pepper corn. In addition it is better if do not boill the fish, just add salmon into hot soup and let it rest 5-10min

    We went to Finland in the summer, and we had it so many times, like you wouldn’t believe. It tastes way more delicious than it already looks! Try it. You won’t regret it. The salmon should be the best one you can get, though. Thank you 🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮!

      In place of fish stock, use Swanson’s chicken broth or stock. Either is great for this recipe. It came out delicious! - Just plain water? That’s a big, NO.

    What should I pair this with? Garlic bread? Sour dough? Suggestions? I am going to try this perfect for freezing and long Minnesota winter!

      Sour dough works for me, but you can try it with any kind of bread!

      Toasted Finnish Rye bread (ruisleipä) with butter and a pinch of sea salt would be the local way.

      Dark rye sourdough is traditional. There might even be some around in Minnesota, given it's part of the north-middle-USAnian nordic cluster.

      You can buy it in stock cubes or powder, or boil it yourself from fish heads/bones. Just dont use fatty fish like salmon for the stock

    OMG! That’s beautiful! I could make variations on this 3 times a week and have leftovers. High in protein, I could forgo the potatoes to cut down on carbs.

      The dill is a real difference maker here. It grows pretty well in a lot of gardens if your grocery doesn’t have it, which I am really sorry if your grocery store doesn’t carry dill i put it in so much

      Bien hecha no creo que sea simple, el salmón va muy bien con el eneldo, y el fondo de pescado bien hecho le aporta buen sabor. Es un buen maridaje de cosas. Buena técnica culinaria en resumen. Hay que hacerla para probarla, te lo digo como chef. Pero como chef ecuatoriana te digo nuestro encebollado es demasiado bueno!!! Y no le pide favor a ninguna otra sopa, y si el encebollado, en fin nuestros platos, se hacen con buena técnica, quedan incluso mucho mejor! Un saludo desde Quito.

      Tal vez los jueces hayan sido europeos, quién sabe y hayan sido franceses, ellos cocinan con mantequilla y crema de leche. Nosotros, los latinos, no usamos eso en nuestros platos. Pero si los hacemos con buena técnica culinaria, estoy segura que la romperemos! Un saludo desde Quito.

      Sería de hacerla para probarla, creo que es por el pescado que se utiliza, el salmón es un pescado caro, el eneldo va muy bien con los mariscos. Por lo que veo es una buena combinación, aquí en Ecuador no comemos así, por la mantequilla que utilizan en vez del aceite para freír la cebolla puerro tiene algo de cocina francesa. Todo lo sofríen con mantequilla. Para quitarnos las dudas, será de hacerla. Pero yo creo que nuestro encebollado no tiene nada que envidiarle! Un saludo desde Quito compatriota.

      @@justinthesen5896 If We are talking about differences between "fiskesuppe" and "lohikeitto" they are mostly Minor, and one which i Have noticed is that (most recipes of The Norwegian salmon soup) use lemon, and lohikeitto doesn't. There are propably More, but i don't Have Time to compare these 2.
