Growing up when he was alive and performing.. I totally get it. He isn’t the only one that had so much potential and threw it away over drugs… or was it the drugs that gave them the ability to have that potential?? We may never know.
To all: all his bandmates tried and tried over and over to keep him sober. Members of STP, Velvet Revolver. 40 something rehabs...WOW! Martial arts for months with bassist from VR. They all knew the talent and great voice he had sober and what an asshole he could be fucked up. One of the greatest of all times. Seen him 3 incredible times. God rest your soul Scott. I hope you find happiness and peace where you are. You will forever be remembered and loved. You were the berries!!🎶📣

The guy should have just said, "You know what, I am not playing/singing tonight....IM FUCKED & FEEL LIKE SHIT!" Cancelled the tour, gone to rehab and take it from there. His band mates shouldn't have let him perform in that state either...But hey, you are a guitarist, in your late 40's and now you are touring with Scott Weiland. I honestly don’t know why the people that supposedly loved him didn’t help him . Was be bi polar ? Yes, but many people are bad with the right medication they can live quite normally. I remember an interview he said he’d like to be remembered for loving very few women . That’s a quite powerful statement. Many artists not even half as famous as him run through partners like others run through clean clothes . That beautiful young man saying when what became STP was originally not interested in being signed by a major label or locked in to being told how to perform, you could see pure joy in his face . I truly believe with all my heart that he was just trying to self medicate and not let his fans or anyone who had an opinion of him that mattered to him down . For some , fame is a hard pill to swallow so to speak . So many other talented people have lost their lives to drugs and/or treatable mental illness as well . Morrison, Cobain, Bennington... I am manic bipolar as well and once I was prescribed something called Geodon...I looked and acted just like him here. It took all the energy in the world just to sit upright and chew my food...I had to stop taking it after just one week. Scott was in fact taking Geodon for his bipolar...it was also found in his toxicology as well I believe. I think that medication combined with alcohol is what we are seeing here and the interviews around this time for him. RIP

Scott looks better here than the 2000 concert when he was on other harmful drugs but quit in 2003 I think. However, the intoxication and narcotics abuse didn't end there sadly. :(
It appears as if Scott was dealing with a neurological problem such as parkinsonism / bradykinesia - these are side effects to prescription medications used to treat bipolar disorders with rapidly cycling patients - I read in an interview from his wife that he was prescribed geodon which is well known to cause side effects like what it appears Scott is experiencing in this video. Also mixing antipsychotic medications such as geodon with alcohol can really cause central nervous system depression. I wish he had seen a medical professional when he was on this last tour it’s possible medication adjustments could have helped. He was one of the best singers of my generation and it’s sad he died alone on a tour bus parked in the parking lot of a major hotel. If only someone had checked on him, Chris Cornell, Layne Staley, and even Kurt Cobain sooner. 😢
