I don't know about 'these days'. If you look at old films of the 50s every teen looks like they're in their 20s, all 20s look like they're in their 30s and 40s 😆
I am building one now. Dug into the rock and have berms on three sides. I have built and lived in my own tiny house for seven years. I got that itch to change every seven years.
Yeah if you have a winter home. Never rent it to a large group of 20 year old boys. His neighbor must have loved listening to snowmobiles playing in the yard all night
Earth homes were a big fad in the late 1960’s to early 1970’s. The idea was to dig out the face of a hill and build a portion of the home into the hill, leaving the front wall of the house exposed to the street. The genius behind it was the remaining hill would insulate the home from cold and heat, saving energy and natural or LP gas. The design was the precursor to what we now call geothermal energy. My uncle built an earth home in the early 1970’s for his family. About 20 years later, the living room ceiling cracked and fell in. It is a very common problem with earth homes because the earth doesn’t stand still - it is in a constant state of motion. As the earth spins, the soil, rock, and water (SRW) move around until it all becomes tightly packed and eventually all of the air pockets fill in with SRW media. A hill is stable because the air pockets are all dispersed, which is why we can build on top of a hill and not have the same problem. When you dig into the side of a hill to build an earth home, you loosen and displace the SRW which creates air pockets. All of that media starts moving around so it can settle back into a tightly packed status. As the packing takes place, the house starts shifting from opposing corners under the weight of the SRW movement. After a decade or two, the house becomes twisted enough that ceiling joists, wall framing, and floor joists start cracking, causing problems with sheeting, drywall, and plaster. The twisting and cracking is an inherent flaw with the earth home concept, it happens to every house that was built that way, and it’s the reason that state and federal building codes started banning them in the 1970’s. I think the weight of the snowmobile caused the house to twist more rapidly than it would have had there been no snowmobile launched off the roof. A snowmobile weighs about 550 pounds, add a couple of riders and fishing gear, you’ve quickly got 800 pounds of weight suddenly landing on the roof with a huge pulling motion - that’s going to cause some twisting to the roof joists, wall framing, and floor joists. It would be similar to holding a wrapped piece of candy and twisting the ends in opposite directions - the wrapper opens and the candy falls on the floor. Poof! There goes your house. 🍬
You are going down Frosty Knievel ! JJ is the Ice Queen and when she gets through with you , you are going to wish you had yellow snow instead of all that liquid courage you drank .
Hunter Kinchy doesn't believe he could damage that roof. He doesn't think his 350 lbs snowmobile could be the last straw that broke the camel's back. His 350 lbs snowmobile was definitely heavier than a straw (that broke the camel's back).

Youre pathetic. He expected 22 year old adults to not be moronic scumbags and damage his property. Being 22 doesn't give you an excuse to damage property nor does it make you a kid.
