Oh my goodness! I'm so happy I found your channel again. I couldn't access my Google because FB and Twitter take away my channels every election year because of who I vote for . I couldn't use my same Google account which was associated with my UA-cam channel. I tried to find you by you & Courtney's names. But never could find you'll. Even looked on some of your siblings channels til today, you mysteriously showed up on my suggested list. But I have to say, Bradley was such a joy to watch baking cookies with Dad. He was so excited to bake and eat the No Bake Cookies. I'm going to have to try your version of the recipe. I'd made them before but I wasn't too impressed nor was my husband. God bless you and your beautiful family! I'm happy to be back.

Enjoyed the video. I love, love chocolate no-bake cookies. I never knew about the cream of tartar added in this recipe, will have to try. I only used it in making candy apples, the hard, red cinnamon flavored kind (many yrs.ago). Bradley, first born Bates grandchild, is a great cookie maker. I have watched you all for quite a while, saw Bradley's 1st birthday. I'm going to have to make these very soon, you have made this grandma hungry 😋 ❤

These were my dad’s favorite cookies. My Grandma made them for years. This was one of the first recipes I learned to make. He worked swing shift and I would usually make them for him when he was on graveyards, bc they’d always bring a smile to his face. They ended up getting the name “Grump Cookies”. When I taught Home Economics I had my classes make these. I used it to show how important it was to measure ingredients. I let the 3 diff grps(my class divided up into 3 grps.) and told them to put the mats they thought was equal to the actual measured amount… then we compared how they turned out. It was quick because we didn’t have to back and they weren’t expensive.
Anyway, I think the students enjoyed the process.

@@Thebateskitchen You’re welcome! It has to sit for a couple months to infuse but you can tell it’s ready when it turns dark brown like store bought vanilla extract.
Also you can make homemade brown sugar with regular granulated sugar and molasses. (Appx 2 cup sugar to 1/2 cup molasses). Use your kitchenaid mixer to blend for 2 minutes and it’s done! Tastes better than store brown sugar and WAY cheaper!

Back in the day when schools had home economic class, we made these cookies, along with cinnamon and sugar toast, yes we had to write a recipe for the toast 😅 You and Whitney make beautiful babes! What a fun activity to do with the kids!

I love your cooking videos. I must say having children the handles are always over the counter top or stove stop❤

I’ve been making these since I was about 6 yo. I also made a different version…. Trying leaving out the cocoa. Oh it’s so good. Making memories with your kids is forever memorable.

I absolutely love no bake cookies and have been wanting to try to make them myself. I’m going to save this video so I can make them one day.

I make them and instead of scooping them out, I put them in a sprayed pan and put in freezer for 30 minutes and then cut them into squares. Really good with crunchy peanut butter too.

Zac, always turn your pan handles. You don’t want them hanging off the front. It’s to easy to hit the handles and get burnt.

yes, i was thinking the same thing, turn the pan handles in, if my husband is cooking, i do that, sometimes he gets a little annoyed with me____LOL
