I've been passing on anything that is priced above msrp. For the most part, i have been buying mostly store picks and patreon picks. Some of the patreon picks I've gotten for under 70 dollars have been just as good, if not better than btac. Cheers my friend 🎉🎉🎉
That Lux Row Double Single Barrel shown is $89 at the distillery. The one you were thinking of for $189 is the Double Double Barrel 12 year. It's a bottle I will buy every time I'm in KY doing a bourbon trip! So Good and IMO worth the price.
@@zach_hewitt yeah that’s right it is the double double one. I remember seeing it at Lux row but forgot the difference between that and this. Thanks for filling in the blanks Zach.
Put me in the Camp that really enjoys these videos. I like that the prices are shown and explanations are given. It’s helpful. I passed wild turkey masters keep triumph. It’s $310 before tax at Total Wine.
Ocho Puntas uses the end of the heads and beginning of the hearts. On top of being an annual release that started in 2022 they also make it limited. 3500 cases were sent to the US. If you enjoy the flavor of agave this is one of the bottles for you. Very good $75 bottle.
Love Bookers ❤️, i won't pay over $100 though 🤔, just picked up 16 bottles in the last few days of good ones . My wife says that I'm running out of room and I believe she's right. Going to be more selective starting after the first of the year 😂Cheers 👍🥃💯
Nice video Patrick. I agree that Willett 8 Year Wheated Purple top is a little overrated for the price, but I like to keep one for sampling out. I found one 2 weeks ago traveling in Memphis for $199, so I pulled the trigger. I enjoyed the Knob Creek Bourye, but would not rebuy. 🥃
In my state they are looking at passing a law the people who buy allocated bottles have to open them before they leave the store. I’m all in on this it should help keep people from buying as many bottles then flip them. You can tell the people against this are flippers most are in favor of this law.
@ That's another way to look at it, but if it's a known thing in the state and maybe they put a label or sticker over the top at the store, would that make any difference?
This is a terrible idea IMO. You'll make it significantly easier to counterfeit bottles and defeat the efforts of companies like Buffalo Trace that have embedded NFC technology and built apps to authenticate BTAC/Pappy bottles and ensure they've never been opened. This doesn't eliminate the secondary market, it just makes it more sketchy
@ if they have the security chip then the original buy is covered what some unscrupulous individuals do after that is buyer be where. Again there’s no guarantee those people have been getting what they’re paying for anyway. But opening the bottle before they leave the store is a way to stop flippers. Which I’m all for. I’m sorry but if you’re that desperate for a bottle you are setting yourself up for failure. First what you’re paying is crazy for what you are getting no bottle of alcohol is worth 3-10 times its MSRP. And I believe that stores should make it one allocated bottle per day and regulate it scan driver’s license to keep from getting more than one bottle per day so more have an opportunity to get something special. Secondary market needs to be completely shutdown. I have zero respect for someone that gets a bottle at MSRP then gouges some other whiskey enthusiasts.
That Angel's Envy Triple Oak is so good
I’ve heard conflicting reports on it.

That is a great strategy! I would love to do my own pic one day.
@TheWhiskeyCove I'd would pick up one from you. Go for Backbone, 8-10 year, high proof barrels. They are up there with GTS and only like 75 dollars.
I really like this format. I respect your views. Very informative.
I appreciate the feedback!

I appreciate you watching! Thanks dean. Its a fun video that I also like to do too.
ocho Planta Puntas is a yearly release where they only take the Heads of the agave and it is a high proof version of the blanco
That sounds like it’s a good bottle for tequila fans. Good catch.

7k? OUTSTANDING! Angels Envey Triple Oak I got for $75. Somewhat interesting task but nothing ground breaking.
Thanks for the info. Sounds like a pass

That room for bottles runs out fast sadly. I'm bursting too.
That little book CH8 is great this year especially if you like Rye.
Good video, crazy the prices some stores are willing to charge. Also, I’ve heard the angels triple oak was not a good tasting bottle. Cheers!
I heard a few people say that too. It is a shame.
Seeing Chartreuse allocated and going for these crazy prices is mind blowing
It's a shame that they're going for so much. I don't understand it either.
You need to buy the knob creek x. It’s one of my top of the year.
It is on my list to try.
saw a Dickel Rye in 1 of the shots. For under $30 its a decent rye
@@flo2348 I’ve seen a big handle of dickel rye for under $30 at Dave co

That's a great deal. I've never seen it that low.
That Makers Mark 46 that was $89 was the old bottle design 😂they have gone through two label designs since🥃
Haha it was very funny seeing that lol.
The Penelope Toasted is good , a 50 dollar bottle, but 70 is a little high.
Thanks that's good to know.
The Penelope toasted rye has been on my local base for a couple months now and I don't think a single one has been bought yet.
Well that isn’t promising.
Patrick the Knob Creek BourbonXRye is a pretty good bottle
I am on my second bottle.
Solid recommendation
I agree on KC BourbonXRye…. I really enjoyed it
Was that a digital price tag on the Lux Row?
@@Urban-bourbon most places use digital tags now. I believe that store does and doesn’t.
Anejo tequila, I’ve had good ones, but for the most part if I want a barrel aged spirit I go to bourbon. The KC Bourye is better than the KC rye10 IMO
That’s good to know. I’m going to have to try it at a bar and see how it is. Thanks for sharing.
You passed on doc holiday rickhouse
Should I have bought it?

I can get onboard with that. I wonder how that would work with open container laws.
I’d have no issue with this for my personal purchases, but I do buy them as gifts for others so can’t open them if that’s the case.

Ran across a couple of Stagg's this past weekend in michigan for $69, BUT you had to buy $500 worth of 💩 Tequila to get it at that price 😖🫣🤬
That's a weird way to sell it. I could get whiskey even though I don't agree with it but tequila. No way.
