G'day E.J, the Black neons look really well with those beautiful black angelfish. I have found that when introducing val, floating the plant until it develops runners, then planting the runners is more successful.

      Dear Gil:
I’m surprised that this works well. Vallisneria plants are root feeders which means they gain almost all the nutrients they need to live and grow from the substrate. I would not expect allowing them to float, for any length of time, would be beneficial. Perhaps when I am ready to plant jungle val, I’ll try it both rooted and floating, to see what works best, in my water.
Thank you, for your interest and suggestion.
      All my best,
      Sincerely,
      Brinegar

      Dear Gabriel:
I’m not anxious to keep angelfish. I took these off Charles’ hands, because he over-bought angelfish, at dime-size. Now that they are adults, he doesn’t have room, in his tanks, for so many angelfish. He likes colors, other than black. Personally, I prefer black angelfish; but, I’d prefer to keep other species. I hesitate, to sell fauna, to pet stores as their chances of survival, much less happiness, are slim. So, I’ll probably do the best I can, to convert this tank, to a planted tank, without pest snails.
Thank you, for your, continued support.
      All my best,
      Sincerely,
      Brinegar
