  • Pakistan is a majority-Muslim nation in the heart of South Asia. It is ruled by a legal system based on the religious precepts of Islam, principally the Koran and the Hadith, called Sharia. This strict interpretation, coupled with its abuse by a small number of radical fundamentalists, results in minority religious groups often facing discrimination and persecution. Mark Riedemann interviews Bishop Indrias Rehmat of the Okara District in the Faisalabad diocese, who discusses the situation in the country today and some of the challenges that the Catholic Church faces.
