Encantadia is popular during my childhood days so that's why they made a reimagine of it with this new actresses. The original Sanggres from the original Encantadia were Iza Calzado (as Amihan), Karylle (as Alena), Diana Zubiri (as Danaya), and Sunshine Dizon (as Pirena).
The 1st Encantadia was aired May 2005 while ATLA was aired Feb 2005. The show was conceptualized prior atla was shown, it could be seen featured in GMAs list of shows for 2005 aired 1 Jan 2005. Quite the coincidence that the elemental theme of the 2 shows matched :) Those are not baybayin, i think they are symbols for each kingdom or sanggre, w/c forms a sword when placed together side by side. Fun fact, they created their own language for the show, predating game of thrones! ^_^
Aside from the special effects and some minor downsides in storytelling (some even have obvious solutions but they chose the more complicated ones to complicate the story), all in all these series became a huge part of Filipinos in terms of Fantaseries. What makes this good is that this series also shows the reality of family and their problems. Jealousy, Betrayal, Secrets but also shows love, compassion ALL IN A FANTASY SERIES about Enchanted beings. A great attraction for Filipino kids and kids at heart.
I was able to watch both Encantadia series of GMA 7, the original one and the remake version. There are four kingdoms that make up the realm of Encantadia. Each of the kingdoms has been entrusted with a particular elemental gemstone called "brillante." Lireo (the air kingdom) holds the brillante ng hangin (air gemstone), Hathoria (the fire kingdom) held the brillante ng apoy (fire gemstone), Adamya (the water kingdom) which held the brillante ng tubig (water gemstome), and Sapiro (the earth kingdom) which held the brillante ng lupa (earth gemstone). The four gemstones were parts of one powerful mother gemstone which the god Emre entrusted to Cassiopea, the first queen of Lireo. Casiopea broke and parted the mother gemstone into four separate elemental gemstones which she gave to each of the four kingdoms' reigning monarchs. But because of the Hathorian king's greed, who wanted to get all four gemstones to rule over the entire Encantadia, Cassiopea took back the fire gemstone from Hagorn and eventually took the other three. As time went by, the succeeding queens of Lireo were the ones chosen by the god Emre to bear and keep all four gemstones. And eventually, the gemstones were handed over to the Sangres (royal blood members of the Lirean kingdom) down to the later generation of the Sangres, the four daughters of the queen of Lireo. Now, they are the keepers of the elemental gemstones. That's what I remember. Lol!

Because they all wanted power, she broke the power gem and gave each kingdom a piece for their use and safe-keeping. The Fire gem was given to Hathoria, Earth gem To Sappiro, Water gem to Adamia and Air gem to Lireo. In a battle, the prince (now king) of Sappiro killed his rival and friend the prince (now king) of Hathoria and the new Hathor king vowed revenge and take all the gems to himself. Season 1: Cassiopeia was punished for breaking the power gem. She lost her abilityvtobspeak and sent to exile and was replaced by Minea who ruled Lireo gracefully and kept the peace among the 4 Kingdos,.but Hathoria broke from the truce and attacked Sappiro. Minea had 4 daughters, tbe eldest was Pirena whose father was the Hathor king. The second daughter was Amihan, the third was Alen and the youngest, Danaya. Because Haggorn (king of Hathoria) waged war against the other kingdoms and to save the still infant Amihan, Minea sent her and the Sappiro king to our world where they hid as ordinary humans for 12 years. But Haggorn was able to track them down and hunted them. The Sappiro king was killed but Amihan escaped and was taken back to Lireo where she learned of her roots. Pirena was jealous of Amihan and filled with hatred for her sister because Minea showed more affection to Amihan. The 4 daughters were trained in the arts, literature, warfare, etc and each had their own weapon of specialization. After their trainings, Minea gave the Fire gem to Pirena, Air to Amihan, Water to Alena and Earth to Danaya. Haggorn has already poisoned Pirena's heart with rage against Minea and Amihan that she left Lireo to stay in Hathoria where she learned that Haggorn is her real father. The remaining Sappirians reestablished their kingdom withbthe help of the Diwatas. Then I will leave the story here so youbwill try to find the rest of the story on GMA website and YT ahaha
My story was not finished on Season 1. The beginningnof Season 2 (prequel) the 4 Princesses who were reunited returned back in time to the empire of Etheria because of some events happening i their time that has so.ethi g to do with a time portal that has been opened and the Etherians' goddess Etherresurrected the Etherian queen and her armies to wage war on the 4 kingdoms. Now, there is still a Season 3 where the supreme god Emre was overthrown by Ether and the Hathoria was again seducted by power and Ether promised Haggorn, the king of Hathor all the powers in the world of Encantadia. Some of the tribes joined in the new war until Emre regained his power. But some of the heroes of the 3 kingdoms and the other tribes were killed by the Hathors and a human childwho got lost and brought to Lireo (in season 1) returned and saved Encantadia together with Emre and Cassiopeia and the other remaining heroes of Encantadia.
I recommend also intitled INDIO a GMA movie series its talk about the Spanish era in the Philippines history while AMAYA is a Pre Hispanic Philippine history the most expensive movie series ... Thank u I hope u react that much appreciated 💞
To make it short people in Encantadia are somehow like humans they have no powers except for royal blood diwata (fairies). You need to watch the back story why they have powers cos before royal blood diwata has no powers in the past. The brilyante (holds the 4 element) is the source of power that's why everybody wants it.
The most expensive TV series ever produced in Phil. TV. Amaya was recommended by Department of Education as it is educational. Very refreshing as the settings is in 1500s. The actors are very good and they delivered their respective roles. The story is unpredictable so not. It's good to see something new as this is the first ever epic TV series based on history. The story of Amaya is fictional in nature but based on historical settings, clothings, etc. It's good to have this kind of show and GMA 7 is willing to spend this kind of TV series which the production costs are much bigger than producing the movie. I hope that GMA 7 will continue to produce quality show like this. Very entertaining and at the same time educational as we learn the traditions and culture during pre-hispanic age.
