    This lecture covers T cell-mediated delayed hypersensitivity reaction (Type IV). Sensitized T cells release cytokines that activate macrophages and act as chemotactic agents for inflammatory cells. Issues like Type I Diabetes Mellitus, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain Barre Syndrome, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Graft vs host, contact dermatitis and PPD are talked about. ...

    In Type 1 DM and MS,
    can i say that the lymphoctes are sensitised in the first exposure to the islet of langerhans or schwanna cells. then they become memory lymphocytes and they just attack these cells again? So does this mean that memory lymphocytes can straight bind to the antigen and does not need any help from APC?

    hello dr saab..i have a query in delayed hyper sensitivity reaction when cd4 is activated by antigen presenting cells (like in case of tuberculin test) they became sensitive and wait for the antigen to re enter the body. why they don't follow the tradianal path like garbbing the tuberculin molecule presenting the antigen to b cells and provoke a humoral response instead of cell mediated and damaging the tissue by casies necros?
    and thank you for your contributions

    • @DrBeenMedicalLectures

      +Sulaiman Gran it is not that the cells will only work through one pathway. It is the predominance of the result. All mechanisms that can engage in a given situation do become engaged. Some are more effective than others.

    which type of auto immune disease does crohn's disease come under?

  • @Guiltfreedelight
    @Guiltfreedelight 7 років тому +1

    sir, type 1 diabetes is disease which is due to type 4 hypersensitivity section- intracellular pathogenic antigen where macrophage activates T1cell which in turn activates macrophage by IL12 and IFN gamma cycle and cause damage to tissue. ok but what is the pathogen here?

    Dr what about costimulus for Cytotoxic T cell activation in Contact Dermatitis?
    Can killer T cell function properly without co-stimulus Il-2 ???

    • @HimanshuKumar-dv6nb
      @HimanshuKumar-dv6nb 4 роки тому

      Co stimuli is not needed for killing function, it is only required to activate CD8+ T cell

    • @HimanshuKumar-dv6nb
      @HimanshuKumar-dv6nb 4 роки тому

      He is actually talking about memory cytotoxic t cell in skin formed after primary exposure the work in kind of same way as memory B cells they also don't need costimulation for activation
