Type IV hypersensitivity is also called delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) because the tissue reaction usually occurs 24 to 48 hours after exposure to antigen. Type IV hypersensitivity is a cell-mediated immunoreaction that is dependent on the presence of a significant number of primed, antigen-specific T cells. This type of reaction is typified by the response to poison ivy, which typically reaches its peak 24 to 48 hours after exposure to antigen.
Plant antigens (haptens) react with and modify cellular proteins that are then targeted by the sensitized T cells. Interaction of CD8+ T cells with antigen presented in the context of class I MHC results in the activation of these T cells and induces them to kill target cells displaying these antigens. APCs also display antigen in the context of class II MHC to activate CD4+ T cells to secrete cytokines, including IL-2, which result in the proliferation of CD8+ T cells. The result of these interactions is the amplification of antigen-specific T cells that initiate the hypersensitivity reaction over the course of a few days.

Contact dermatitis to poison ivy is an example of CD8 TYPE according to levinson. Please check
Thanks so much,,
From Egypt ♥️♥️♥️
Awesome ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Perfect video! Thank you so much! I have some questions. So does this mean that in the tuberculosis mycobacteria infection, we have T cells that activate at the lung level after 48 hours at the most? And then we have the manifestation of the disease?
Moreover, in these hypersensitivity reactions there is always a need for a first sensitization?
Is contact hypersensitivity also delayed?
Thank you so much i was a wonderful experience to learn from you but I guess Rheumatoid Arthritis is the example of type 3 hypersensitivity in which IgM-IgG complexes are deposited in joints
Good
But what happened to TH2?
TH1 is for intracellular infection
TH2 is for anti helmith and allergic
TH17: for extracellular pathogens and fungi
(Also there is Tregs and TFH and TH22)
Thankyou sir
Love your accent❤
Awesome yrr
NC explaination 👍
Thank you 😃
What softwares did you used to make this video...Pls tell us🙏🤌🤌
Thnk you thnk you thank you thank you thank you thank you🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Sir please make a video on cytokines
plz make a video on salivary glands
I m confuse in few books contact dermatitis is example of cytotoxic t cells reaction in levinson book
Can u please make videos ncert topics biology it is useful for many people...
Confusing. RA is considered type III hypersensitivity disorder. Immune complexes cause the inflammation in the joints.
Sprb 👍👍👍👏👏
Plz post ent lectures
But type 4 does not show ADCC right?
Isn't rheumatoid arthritis example of type 3 hypersensitivity?
It can actually be both, more commonly it is type III, but some cases are defined as type IV.
👍🏻
Is dress syndrome this type of allergy
Wowwwwwwwwwww
Vary 👍
😲😲😲😲👌
😂😂😂😂😂😂
please
In tamil explain plz
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
neutrophils are not involved in type 4 hypersensitivity reaction 😂😂🤬
