That's why I laugh whenever I hear a lawyer talk about how we have the right to ask for the warrant, read it, and watch the cops while they search your house. They aren't wrong. However, this video shows what really happens. I hope a judge strips these cops of their QI. I also hope those children learn about their rights and how horribly these cops violated those rights.

Wow! You got some balls officer. You just illegally entered a man’s house and put cuffs on him! Than you had the audacity to blame him for your illegal acts. You should be stripped of your badge. And prosecuted.
Unfortunately thats a huge risk, I've seen cases go to trial and some shitbag judge dismisses it or sides with the cops. If I were them I would take the settlement.

The mom should not have let that crooked cop lecture her children. But as she was being threatened with arrest it is understandable why she did not stand up to him.
The problem is that this is not easily a million dollar lawsuit. There are no punitive damages like there should be, only actual damages. No one was hurt and the only property damage might have been to the front door. Courts don't reward as much as they should for civil rights violations. This is a high 5 digit or low 6 digit lawsuit, not a 7 digit one.

When cops violate the 4th Amendment it's; Insubordination, Felony Treason, Deprivation of Rights, Kidnapping, Human Trafficking, Conspiracy (no cop acts alone).
Cop: "open the door" Angel: "Okay I will open it" Cop: "she's refusing entry" immediately kicks in door and draws his weapon on an innocent man and his two young children *All of this in LESS THAN 3 SECONDS*
NOTHING the cops did was REASONABLE or logical. “You’re bothering me so now you’re a safety risk” And he’s stupid enough to say this nonsense on body camera. If I was on a jury, I’d vote guilty on CRIMINAL deprivation of rights under color of law 18 USC 242. These cops are unbelievably corrupt and inept.
I thought I was bugging cause I'm like he didn't give her enough time to react. This Sargent is on a power trip. I hope he sues and wins & this Sargent gets fired.
She was literally complying and he just goes in ready to start gun blazing. Dude needs a felony conviction and be given a psychiatric evaluation. Even if he’s not a cop, the world is less safe with someone like him living among us.
"I don't need a warrant." Proceeds to wait outside the doorway like an uninvited vampire. Then gaslights the kids to convince himself that he was in the right.
In every police video I've seen, when cops are standing in the doorway shouting "come here" instead of charging in, it's because they know the cops have no right to enter.
They can enter now if they say the right words or can spin it that way if they feel like the person going to harm them they are allowed to go in to stop the person from going to get something to hurt them
That’s what I was thinking. He just keeps talking until he’s gotten comfortable enough to think he’s built up a case against them, to then go in. Based on the conversation
Just called them. I am a resident of Idaho. Very disappointed. I told them the statement is bullshit because it doesn't say what is going to be done about this. They promptly told me I am not entitled to that information and hung up. Absolutely disgraceful.
Good job calling though, as an Idahoan, you certainly DO have the right to ask questions and to expect answers from your officials. I’d further that with an email to the chief of police/sheriff so there’s a paper trail. I do this all the time and I’m in Canada FFS 😅 but I still let them know that it’s not a good look and people ARE watching.
The police are unelected so they don’t particularly care what public sentiment towards them is. The mayor, city council members, and the sheriff are elected, so if you can call them directly, and let them know how disappointed you are, they would be more incentivized to care.
The disrespect to the homeowner from these cops is disgusting. They way he is trying to convince the children the father did something wrong when they are the ones in violation of their civil rights.
The homeowner was entirely too homey to them. These uniformed house breakers need to be aware when the door opens that they just walked up to Paris Island and R. Lee Irmey opened the door. Don’t take their threats of calling SWAT. I have seen 4 ft tall women who knew how to handle this. Let them call for SWAT and a helicopter as they are scooting back across the lawn.
Instantly threatened to kick the door in after she said she'd open it and ask for a peaceful entrance... Then lied saying that she refused. WTF. I'm 5 minutes in and I'm already seething.
Yeah, they didn't take her to jail because she let them violate her rights, knowingly or unknowingly. If she had stood up for her rights or even questioned the cop, she would have been in cuffs too. I don't think the cops deserve that discretion. Let them answer for their stupid mistakes.
And that's how butthurt they are. "TO protect and serve" is being removed from cops cars and buildings nationwide. Now its "to protect and defend." The whole original intention of police was to serve the public. If "serving" repulses them that much then what's their intentions, other than revenue.
But the situation the cop “copsplained” was a little bit off. He said… 1. He would bust ALL the windows. 2. And then fill the house with gas to flush out the suspect. If they wanted to get someone wouldn’t the gas work better if the windows were not broken?
@ you are 100% correct. Government is there for the people by the people. We as a body public entrust them to enforce law legally and respectfully. Violations such as this undermine our entire social construct.
The worst part of this whole debacle is all the damn copsplaing afterwards. The sheer condescension and demand for not only compliance but "kiss the ring" agreement with his actions is what I find the most abhorrent!
The insistence for them to agree is to setup for future court. The police can then argue that what they did was reasonable because even the victims agree. It is all CYA
Yes most cops are like this whether they seem like good cops are not in this type of situation you will see which side they choose they always choose the blue line gang.. 0% of law enforcement in this country can be trusted if they are told to gather up the guns and breaking into people's houses they will gladly do it and then blame you the whole time they're doing it.
I got so upset when he sat n talked to those people's kids. he violated their rights, he kicked in the door, he was aggressive, he talked down to the parents and threw tons of false charges to them, attempted to arrested the father sitting in front of his kids, and then sat and lied to the kids about what and why he did what he did. This officer is an example of why people fear police because tho they are not all bad, the bad ones have the ability to do this type of stuff without strong prosecution from our government.
There's no such thing as there are good cops they're all bad it's a culture in order to stay in your job you have to conform to that culture and keep violating people's rights or sitting back watching your co-workers do it and that makes you a bad police officer
Not fear, We don't fear the police, we hate them. They act like an occupying force in a hostile country. They treat everyone they encounter as an adversary or potential threat. By doing so, they are creating the conditions that they are most fearful of.

If they are really concerned about him being armed and dangerous, you would think a good police officer would want to get the kids out of the way. They act like the DA and Judge will usually take their side despite anything. Otherwise, you'd think they'd be a little more careful. So a victim HAS to make this as public as possible, which is the only chance they have to have a Judge / DA act accordingly.
They call him a felon for possessing a firearm but he served his time for those charges and is only wanted for a parole violation. Their action was not justified because he was not considered to be armed and dangerous. These cops watch too much tv and act like the Gestapo. They have no authority to come into her house because it is not the residence of Jericho. The officer knew he screwed up by kicking in the door because he just stood there and didn’t enter the house. I hope they get a good settlement because the children were traumatized too.
Hey diddnt serve all his time he is still on parole. Once your done parole then your done your whole sentence. And if a person has been convicted of a felony then that person is a convicted felon until that person gets a pardon and get their record expunged.
He hasn't served all his time if he's still on parole, also if he's wanted for breaking that parole, his old charges are going to come up as the same warrant

The fact that an officer stop to explain himself to the person who he says is violating the law then the officer goes into the house to further explain his actions to children under the age of 12. Tells you that the officer knew how wrong he was.

You're 100% correct. In these type of vids, the only time a cop goes around and explains his action to anyone who will listen, it's because they're looking for validation.
Im highly concerned that a Idaho police tactic to get fugitives out of someone elses home is to "break every window and fill the house with gas" followed by sending a poor dog into the gassed house to "bite the fugitive"
Also "this is what you get for hanging out with felons!" Is never brushed over again. The guys felony is 10 years old and it's her brother. You are apparently supposed to never have freinds again if you commit a felony.
@@robinlaszloI was once at a police raid of a house with barricaded suspect. They tear-gassed the house but did not break all the windows. Doing so would have ventilated the house and made the tear gas less effective. Aside from breaking all the windows and then gassing the place being self defeating, there is no streamlined way of figuring out whether you or someone you know has a warrant for arrest since each country has their own records. You can look up records as public info but i'd say at least 95% of people don't find out they have a warrant until arrest. The other 5% have bench warrants so they likely know prior to arrest.
I can't wait to hear back about an update on this case in the future. I hope this family gets millions. This is ridiculous. How are we supposed to trust law enforcement when they act like this with complete disregard for our civil rights

From personal experience. Keep running your mouth. Make the cop hit you, they can't contain themselves. Charges will be dropped no matter what they are to stop further investigation. @@terryhsley3808 it's a great idea but the point is that these cops brought their own cameras and still broke in to a private residence illegally with those cameras recording. As proved by the fact that they knowingly, brazenly, recorded themselves breaking the law.
I’ve seen this before but don’t think I’ve seen the bodycam footage before. Crazy how the cops were nicer to the felon brother, than the homeowner and lecturing him, wife AND their kids for not immediately bowing to them.
I was thinking the same thing! I have a feeling if they'd just let the sister go up and talk to Jerico that he would've just given himself up without incident. Instead, they caused all this trauma to the family who weren't even involved in the crime. And then had the nerve to sit down with the kids to make them think it was their parents' fault that this all happened the way it did. I hope they get every cent possible out of this.
Yet if they had went to get a warrant and something happened to the family or he escaped and killed someone you'd be blaming the police. They did protocal were polite after the fact and didn't arrest the parents afterwords they were there on a mission.
They'd have been told to leave as soon as Jericho was in the car. The brother is a scumbag too. He thought he could run upstairs and hide and avoid the consequences of his actions, which put this family through this ordeal.

Cops should be required to work a year in a customer service position as part of their academy training. Your average McDonald's kid behind the counter has better de-escalation skills that these cops.
Cops want to go in kicking down doors and going all out because that’s how they train and they want to experience that training in real scenarios. They want to play action hero, they want that adrenaline rush. The cop’s thought process and concerns he later explained was reasonable, but that doesn’t give them the right to do what they want. It’s frustrating when cops expect us to follow laws while they break them.
This cop held court in the house! "I could take you to jail right now," but as long as you say all the right things that I want to hear, and humbly submit to my authority and admit I'm the big man in charge...
Illegally entering a 3rd party over a parole violation of leaving the state is a slam dunk lawsuit They had every chance to wait and arrest him in public especially since the brothers had already gone fishing in public The way they escalated this non dangerous situation is outrageous. Normal people just knock and dont assume people are violent. The public should be outraged.
Officer Doofy became a sergeant?! You can tell by his wording that he's lacking basic intelligence. Even said "I'll break all the windows and then I'll tear-gas your house". Breaking all the windows before gassing the house would only make the gas less effective. No wonder he's not part of swat (special weapons and tactics) He doesn't comprehend the tactics part. However he is "Special". I'm sure they told him that plenty of times in school. He's just drunk on power and F'ed up and made a pathetic attempt to justify his actions, but he didn't have the capacity to even come close to justify what he did. This fool doesn't deserve them 3 stripes.
I'm sure they only made him a sergeant so that when he screws up, they have something to take away from him. Wouldn't want to actually put him in jail or anything like that.
Dude, the way he only cared about the kids for a split second because it made him look good. Pisses me off and shows what a sad sack of shit that officer is. Before and after that, he entirely ignored the mom's plea to think of her kids.
The threats “in front of your kids” shows the character of these bottom feeders. Pathetic. Also, I do think it’s ironic that one cop scolded them for “hanging out with felons” while committing multiple felonies.
The complete actions of the primary officer not only violate numerous laws, but the threat of using swat to "fill the house with gass and blow out all the windows" is a terroristic threat and abuse under the color of law. Amazing how audacious this officer was in all actions.
In response to the officer demanding she open the door, how does "I will, but wait because there are kids in there" get interpreted as her refusing his request in his mind? She clearly on camera said I will.
Actually craziest thing I have ever seen (well, right after the 'locking the suspect on train tracks'); "I'll open the door in a second, please be calm because my two young kids are in there-" "FUCK YOU" *kicks down the door*
I sent the video to my boyfriend and he said that first cop was unacceptable. His department would have allowed her to get the kids into a room and sent her brother to the front door. Cause they don’t want the kids to be used as a shield.
One of the most obnoxious one I saw was they asked for license & registration. Then attacked him because "he was reaching for something". No kidding, he was reaching for the registration.
Yeah, I saw a ring camera of cops knocking on the door of a house. The home owner spoke thru the camera, saying he was in bed and those cops would not leave. They're like just come to the door, but he didn't. Cops can just be batshit insane thinking they can just have anyone answer the door without a warrant and will not go away even when told repeatedly that he's not answering the door. It was a back and forth argument.
This cop then walks into their house invites himself to sit on couch and talks to the kids. He is trying to justify his behavior to the kids & tell them their family was wrong. Wow!
OMG, I am so mad. This arrogant cop had no right to go in and talk to the children, 😡😤😡 and put all that negativity about their parents in there heads, he needs to be charged with child abuse.
When he said to the kids “when you’re detained you’re not allowed to do anything until I tell you to” he said it with such pride and arrogance. He’s proud of being a tyrannical bully.
