It's been a while since I've listened to this, and I still get goosebumps, chills and tears. It's hard to explain. No other song, that's ANY other SONG, has this effect on me. They really pack an emotional whollup.
I'm not an American by the way but this is the best rendition of the US anthem I ever heard. i hate when other entertainer musicians distort the song to emphasize their so called talent. here in the Philippines, there is a government office that reprimands and sanction singers who distort our national anthem..
A fantastic version of the most awesome national anthem in the world, performed by three brave women. I get the chills and almost start to cry every time I hear this masterpiece.
Those people who disliked this video have absolutely no soul and no taste in music. Agree or disagree with their political views/comments...that's up to you but there is no denying their talent and the fact that this is a gorgeous version of the National Anthem.
Fantastic to once again hear the Star Spangled Banner sung at a pace/tempo that isn't depressing or irritatingly slow/dragged out to hear the warblings and caterwalling of the self-proclaimed performer.
What makes this rendition superior to all others is the Dixie Chicks' restraint. They don't feel the need to over embellish the song just to prove a point. They decided to arrange the piece with beautiful harmonies and sang it through, not because they wanted everyone to worship their vocal abilities, but because they wanted to honor their country. I'm sick of the Christina Aguileras putting in all these useless runs and ad libs. It cheapens the song and makes it cheesy.
Chris Tran I agree, I especially dislike make the way many sing "o'er the land of the free' - making 'free' embellished and an octave too high. It always feels like the singer is drawing attention to themselves, rather than the meaning of the song. I also don't like it when it's sung too slowly. The song has always been about prideful excitement - it doesn't have to be fast, but it shouldn't be too slow either. (If memory serves me correctly, the music for the anthem is based on an English drinking song) - Dixie Chicks got the tempo right on. My favorite part of their rendition in the "gave proof through the night" - the harmonies are appropriate and gorgeous. Really what makes this version work so well is the harmonies - and very appropriate given the context of a Super Bowl - each singer contributing their part without any major emphasis on any particular person. If I were to be critical, I'm not overly fond of the ending, changing the key felt odd - but I think that's a matter of the arrangement and not their overall performance. Whenever I want to hear the anthem done correctly, I always look for this version. To me it's the gold standard and not Whitney Houston. I find her version a bit pretentious.
I still think in the scheme of things, the Dixie Chicks rocked this out of the park! I have always respected and admired their music. So what if you have an opinion. God Bless the USA!
I had chills all the way through this song. By far the best rendition of this song I have ever heard. It's pure vocals and talent, which really isn't seen very often in popular music.
Oh damn. This song gives me thousands of goosebumps every time I listen to it. Besides the gift of their sweet song's, this performance and these woman are so powerful
The National Anthem already takes my breath away, but this just about killed me. I can remember when I was a kid and hearing this before the Super Bowl, and thought it was the best version I have ever heard. Still true to this day.
個人的にこのアメリカ国歌斉唱のシーンが好きだな。カメラワークもすごいし。 いかにアメリカ国民が星条旗のもとで真剣になっているかがわかる。 I individually like this scene of national anthem of the U.S. Its camerawork teaches me that all nations of the US become very seriously regardless of human races under the star spangled banner.
This is still the best rendition I've ever heard. Unbelievable harmonies.
That harmony is beautiful.
Soft, crisp, clean & power - wow! What voices. No drama - pure song. Lovely. Simply the best.
best version of the star spangled banner in my opinion.
Literally the best National Anthem I have ever heard. That part right at 1:16 oooo
All these years later and this is still THE ONE! Goosebumps every. Single. Time.
Never ever has it been done better, or with more respect.
Absolutely the best rendition of the Star Spangled Banner!!
Be proud, Dixie Chicks
Beautiful. And I'm not even American.
You must be joking. Whitney's the best hands down.

Still my favorite rendition ever.
When they sing it it gives me goosebumps. Amazing version.
Just lovely. No theatrics. Just a wonderful performance.
Underrated rendition.
Wow... I think that's the first time I'm speechless after listening to the American anthem. This was very beautiful!
That how it's done! Best version since Whitney's. Awesome!
Perfect harmonies and the simplicity of the performance makes it one of the best.
Unreal. I can't stop listening to it.
I don't remember who played in this game. But I will always remember this performance.
It was the Raiders and someone else, I don't remember. As for the halftime show, I think it was Shania Twain and Gwen Stefani

I never get tired of hearing this version of the National Anthem. Awesome.

Best one ever! I talk about this and bring this up in conversation; premise being harmony and harmonics!
Very sweet harmonies.
A more beautiful version of our National Anthem may not exist.
Always will be my favorite rendition. I agree with others, they don't overdue it.
Stunning, absolutely stunning! Sung by people who have real talent as opposed to those who THINK they have talent.
I think I have talent.
A fantastic version of the most awesome national anthem in the world, performed by three brave women. I get the chills and almost start to cry every time I hear this masterpiece.
that's the way it was meant to be sung!
Yes,this is the greatest version I've ever heard.I am enamored by their voices, completely captivating.
these 3 ladies are the most misunderstood country music artists in history they honor all veterans and god bless them

Beautiful arrangement.

I am Canadian but this Dixie Chick rendition of the SSB really grabs at the heart strings. Very beautiful.

Chris Tran Superior to other except Marvin Gaye and Whitney Houston.

The National Anthem already takes my breath away, but this just about killed me. I can remember when I was a kid and hearing this before the Super Bowl, and thought it was the best version I have ever heard. Still true to this day.
Look out, Whitney. You've got company.

Too bloody good!, I've heard many versions but this one is by far the best accapella, followed by the Mcknights version.
Whitney's version is the best, IMHO. This is a VERY close second. Great job ladies!!!

Rivals the 1991 rendition by Whitney Houston, beautiful
I'm not a huge Country fan AT ALL, but I do have to admit, this is probably my favorite rendition of this song.. EVER.
Ms. Dixie Chicks sang USA anthem which harmonized my mind and this harmony is best members historically.
