Maya’s mother, Minnie Riperton, was a singer whose #1 hit was “Loving You”. Maya’s mother passed away in 1979 from cancer, when Maya was only 8 years old.
I thought she was 6 when that happened.

it was probably more rehearsed than you'd think. they'd have to do it at dress for one thing, but also they'd need to work out the timing of the sketch, when to cut back to jason and bill etc
