I remember this memory so vividly. My Dad said to me, BE SURE YOU WATCH THESE GUYS! This team WILL WIN a Super Bowl! He was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer and on July 4th, 1996 he passed away. Later that season it happened! But the 90's led up to this. It was an amazing time to be a Packers fan but sadly I lost both my parents with 18 months of each other. I missed quite a few games during these times. So I am THANKFUL for you sharing these with us. My Mom passed in December of 94. So the following years while awesome for Packers fans I was not exactly jumping for joy. I really wish I was able to see the entire 1995 & 1996 seasons. Just to see them now without my sadness. But again I am so thankful to get to see what games I can see. Thanks again.

1995 was a banner year for the NFC Central (even last place Tampa Bay had their first season without 10 losses since 1981)

The year before, 4 of the 5 teams made it to the playoffs. They didn't call it the black and blue division for nothing.

It was rare at this time for the Packers to have a home game in the prime 4PM Eastern kickoff slot - nowadays it's commonplace but I remember it was a bit unusual back then that the Packers were hosting a late game.

Brett Favre may not be the greatest qb of all time (though he certainly deserves to be on the outskirts of that conversation) but he is easily the most entertaining. His whole physicality and energy is so enthralling. He had this hirky-jerky way of moving, throwing and running that was truly unique and fun to watch. Also the way he would shovel the ball from awkward angles and throw with such fearless, gunslinger verve endeared him to many a fan, even from other teams.

Yeah, that said his arm itself was maybe the greatest of all time. What made him exciting was also costly at times though certainly.

      Yup. The gunslinger qb personified.

Entertaining, glad I was in my early 20's watching this. Great memories.

I miss the Pack having a great defense, it’s been bad for too long

    2024 perspective:
Man the game has changed a LOT then vs now...!
Many late hits, many leading-with-the-helmet tackles, many roughing the passers, and plenty of PI's while watching this game. Oh and the Wedge! Wow, just so different.
Edgar Bennet was actually awful. I remember him being adequate and Levens was the better back with better agility and cuts, but any decent 5+ yard run by Bennet was more scheme and less ability. He mostly was a 1.5yd average guy and a few 10 yarders mixed in. Very few Explosive Plays. The whole run game was mediocre at best and would be considered pathetic by 2024 standards and we exist in a passer's league today!
The lack of Replay was evident. This game was 21-14 when there would've been a fumble by GB with MN taking over with momentum to tie. VERY different game with Replay. Didn't they have Replay in the 80's? And got rid of it in the 90's? Why? Packers/49'ers in '98 playoffs would've ended differently too with Replay
