This songs is amazing. It gets better and better with each listen. It feels like this one really comes from the heart. One of the better 'late in the album' tracks by Pearl Jam.
It took me a few listens to even notice this song, but now it might be my favorite thing on the record!!! It really reminds me of a charged-up mid-'70s Who song, like a song from 'Who By Numbers' or something. And at the end Eddie does an EXCELLENT Daltrey vocal thing. This is a great fucking song.
This might be the best song on the new album. There are certain songs that show his weaknesses vocally but they should lean into others that are played less in the past that work now in his range.
awesome! this sounds like a challenging song for Ed but he pulls it off. in the original key too - if I'm not mistaken those are high B's he's reaching in the bridge? for his age very impressive! also it looks like that main chord progression uses the sliding E-shape à la Not For You - very cool!
Eddie doesn’t sound like he used to and it shows on older songs. But these Dark Matter songs he and the band sound great! They fit what he’s Got to Give now and I can’t wait to see them in Portland!
Yeah, they definitely write songs to his current strengths and try to adapt older songs to his range as it is now. Every so often he misses on an older one, but yeah, on these new ones he sounds amazing.
i totally agree. It’s a blessing and curse knowing how raw and amazing the old stuff sounds. New stuff sounds great, though. I think anything after Vitalogy, especially No Code would fit in pretty well with Ed’s current vocal capabilities. Too bad Ed can’t remember the No Code album name or lyrics(😂) because I’d love to see more of those songs played live.
His voice has more gravel to it now yeah, but if you're in the building he still sounds incredible on the old ones. Who wouldn't sound different 33 years later?
@@CZAR151 just saw them in Portland and it was incredible! They all sounded great. Also Pearl Jam radio is playing the 2nd Vancouver show and they sound amazing!
Maybe a dumb question, but do you have an iPhone or Apple Music and not turn off the Atmos thing? The first two times I listened to it, I had that feature turned on, and it sounded awful.
@@lukelarsson Not a dumb question, bc I don't know what you're talking about. I do listen through my iphone. I'll look into how to turn it off and see if it makes a difference.
For over $200 a ticket I was kinda disappointed there weren't more of the old songs that we love. They played.... Alive Even flow Better man Jeremy And all the rest was new stuff that is ok but jeez..... $200 a ticket. I wanted to hear Daughter, unthought known, yellow Ledbetter, sirens, black, corduroy, porch..... Twenty more songs that we love from the olden days. Actually feel kinda ripped off.
I feel like this one should be getting more attention. It’s a bit of a hidden gem on an album filled with great songs.
Bang on on all counts!
It might be my favourite
They need to play this song more often!

I knew that was a Stone lick. Great song! Thanks Mike for all the awesome videos from the past 2 shows!
Stone’s leads have this amazing, subtle snarl to them. It always sounds like the guitar is being warped and is coming out of the ground. I love it
This needs to be a constant because it’s truly one of the best off DM! And my personal favorite. 😂 so, so good!!!! Deserves more recognition

My feelings exactly - has Who DNA and feeling.
My new favourite off the new album!
Great song?
Love the message
Just pearl jam being pearl jam at their best!
Nice. Hope they let Stone really rip on this one as the summer goes on!

My fave from dm. Thx for posting
Amazing song. Favorite one from DM
They sounds great !! Love the new stuff. Can’t WAIT for MSG in September !!!! ❤️
Amazing. Thanks Mike!
Next stop is Portland, Oregon 5/10/24... Sold Out!!❤
See you there!
See you there!

@CaptainB34 I was at both Vancouver shows and they were absolutely incredible! Going to both Seattle shows as well!
Why are there so few McCready solos on this album?
There are more Mike McCready solos on this album than there have been in their last few releases, what are you talking about????
Ed looks so free on stage! A lot less uptight than he used to be.
What?!? 😂😂😂
WhiteHat is Back!
These new songs sound so much better live - the mix on the album is horrific.
I kind of agree. I feel like EV is much easier to understand when he plays them live.

LMAO this moron had to actually search for this performance in order to post an absolutely dumb comment. So sad 😂

I also prefer older stuff but I'm happy they didn't become a tribute band
Seems like you don’t know how they operate live. They never played only hits and the sets change every night. Plus it’s the dark matter tour.
Ledbetter, Black, Porch, Alive Corduroy all played on Night 1
First time seeing Pearl Jam?
There's nothing like attending a tour dedicated to a specific album and complaining they played songs from that album instead of the hits lol
