The conversation about CTE and head injuries was very much needed... I don't do skateboarding, but I do parkour, and about two months ago I had a really traumatic head/brain injury. It's great to learnt a little bit more about strengthening necks, reducing head injuries after, etc. Really appreciate that one!

Physical therapist here! In my experience as a skater resistance/strength training is essential especially as you age. Hub might be correct in saying it would throw off a skaters style but this would only be if a skater puts on a lot of muscle mass and this is insanely difficult for most people. A lot of Strength gains occur without large increases in muscle mass.

Andrew's episode a few years back really made me focus on getting proper sleep, which I was terrible at and felt like CRAP a lot of the time. Now, I try hard to follow a sleep schedule, clear my mind and sleep at least 7+ (hopefully 8) hours.
It’s a serious changer man. It changed my life and I was able to reduce my supplement intake by like 75% because of how much better I felt. People are waking up to the importance of sleep lol
There was a New York Magazine article that talked a lot of trash on him and tried to claim he is manipulative, uses women, lies about his credentials, and uses fake science. There is an article from The Guardian that addresses many of those claims as false, exaggerations, or unsubstantiated. I don't know him personally, but he is perceived as part of the so called "man-o-sphere" so it seems like it the New York Magazine was trying to discredit him. (Notice how many times I am hedging my bets here saying "seems" and "perceived" because personally I don't know)

Pre-hab movements and injury mitigation movements you could do 1-2x a week: 1.Free weight paused squat of any kind with an emphasis on explosiveness out of the hole(will not only help generate more power for more pop, it’ll strengthen everything including soft tissue like tendons and ligaments so you’re better protected jumping down shit) 2. Weighted carry (farmers carry for instance) on your tip toes(this helps strengthen ankles like a mf. Say by to rolled ankles) 3. Bulgarian split squats(similar reason to squats, but more specific and slightly different mobility demands that is good for reinforcing everything when you have to jump off a handrail or something where you’re landing and running) Soreness won’t effect your skating after the first couple times, you don’t have to go balls to the wall or anything, super easy, super worth it
What he says about eating only clean/whole foods: meat, veggies, and fruit, really is life changing. I started doing that a couple years ago I was working 10 to 12 hour days then hitting the skate park until the light shut off then was able to do the same thing the next day and I was in my late 20s then….i gotta get back on that
