      Indeed. Under the Constitution. No State shall deny any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law. Now this specifically says person. The line before this said citizen. That’s important since an argument could be made about the unborn not qualifying as citizens.
      So as long as you can prove that the unborn are people (which, with all the technology we have available, we easily could and have), you can easily declare abortion as we know it, unconstitutional, and it is. No due process is being applied here.

    • @jen4um
      @jen4um 2 місяці тому

      @@christiantwist3360 they are people because they are alive in the womb from conception. Why do you think a murderer gets charged for 2 murders if a woman who’s pregnant is killed? Biology has already proven that an unborn child is a human from conception. Anyone who thinks it’s ok to murder a baby in the womb, a PERSON who has done nothing wrong, that person should look in the mirror and ask themselves if their conscience is seared. Just because society has gone over a cliff and evil has become normalized, there is no justification for killing an innocent being, none whatsoever. Even if the constitution was against the life of an unborn baby, it wouldn’t make the constitution right because there is a moral law that trumps all human law, and that is God’s law. We will all be held accountable for our actions.

    Would you be pro-life if your life is in danger? Would you be pro-life if a loved one was being murdered? Would you save a child being murdered on the street or would you walk away because it’s not your child? I hope in every and all circumstances you would have the integrity to save a life.

      I would very much save any life I could. The only time it’s “ok” is if it’s a last resort to save the life(1. It still takes a life and 2. Everything must be done to save both)
      I would stop a loved one from being murdered(no matter age, this is common sense)
      If a kid was being murdered on the streets, I would run to save the child no problem

      Jesus was pro life when his life was in danger. He died for all of us. There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. No doctor can know with certainty that a woman will die giving birth. The goal for a Dr is do no harm. They should do everything in their power to save both the mother and baby.

    Thanks for the video. It's so contentious, but it makes sense why. The subject deals with two of our most fundamental core values all the way back to the declaration of independence. Life vs Liberty. On top of that we struggle with how to precisely define life/personhood.
    'I do believe if a woman was Graped, there should be no law forcing a woman to give birth'
    This is limited to the perspective that the child itself is not a helpless living person in need of protection. If you believe the child is a living person it must still be protected. Following this logic if a woman is Graped should she be allowed to kill her 3 year old child as revenge for the terrible horrendous thing that happened to her? No, right? Not because we don't care or because people believe she must be forced to be a mother to her assailants child, but because we recognize the child as it's own living person that is not responsible for the horrendous act that led to their existence.
    'The government needs to stay the F out of it'
    I think maybe you lean more towards an assumption that is is not a living person. The logic here here fails for anyone who considers the child to be a defenseless living person. This would be the same logic as saying 'Child Abuse (and child... something I don't even want to type)? The government should stay the f out of it'. Does this make sense? You're not wrong but only if you already assume it's not a living person.
    'It should be between the woman, the person having the kid with, and the doctor'
    The baby itself is excluded from this sentiment. The logic is a dead end for anyone who believes it is a living person that is defenseless and in need of protection. In this case it is absolutely the responsibility of government and other people to intervene to save the childs life. In the same way that a parent normally speaks for their child in all things, but if they are being abused or in danger it is the responsibility of all of us and the government to protect the helpless childs life and safety. This includes protection from the mother, the person she's having the child with, and the doctor. We cannot just assume those three people know best or have the best intentions. It is the communities job to safeguard the childs life.
    'The man should also be involved in that decision'
    To people who do not see the unborn as living person then it is just a part of the Woman's body. The logic here is a dead end for anyone who believes it's not a living person and that no man should ever have a say over a Woman's body (no persons should have control over the body of another).
    'I'm pro mind your damn business'
    You recognize that to those who see it as living person, it's the murder of the defenseless and innocent. So a 'mind your business' stance is no different that outright saying it's definitely not a person or worse it's a helpless innocent person but you're ok with letting it be murdered. Otherwise, what is the logic in this position?
    'It already has a soul'
    We cannot prove the existence of a soul or exactly when it's created. So with respect to people who have this belief, the logic is a dead end to anyone who doesn't already share the faith.
    The destruction of Roe V. Wade was necessary, but more because the law must be precise and consistent. Kicking it back to the states is a compromise that neither side is really happy with.
    The unanswered question everything comes down to is when is an unborn child a living person. Conception, Heartbeat, Viability, Birth, 18?

    I heard this performed live on Timcast on Friday. It touched me…
    I’m about to be 40 but when I was 18… I found out I was pregnant. My parents honestly hated the guy and said if I had an abortion, we will pay for it.
    Being barely 18… That is a huge decision to make to keep a baby or not… Everyone besides my parents said do what you want, you’re carrying the child.
    Well, the only thing I heard in my 18 year old mind was abortion was the only suggestion I had.
    It is still something that hurts me to this day but from the moment the machine was started… I was screaming and crying and crawling away from it… I was shouting I want my baby. They had to stop it and let me calm down.
    I had wanted to tell the paternal grandma… But I was told by the dad that I needed to make my mind and go through with it. He called me a murderer.
    I don’t think it needs politicized. And I do think men have to have a say… I know too many that wanted to be a dad and be a family. They deserve to have a voice at the table….
    But I hate the conservatives calling it murder but I can’t stand liberals who depersonalize it. You need counseling and the ability to allow the mom to know she’s going to be supported.

      @juliabutters84 3 місяці тому

      @@fallon-may0935 I know this now and it’s why yes, we may NEVER be able to take away abortion… But I do think there needs to be better counseling in place before, during and after any decision. It’s very important to let any mother know that everyone will be there for her and her child and if the dad wants to be around… For him too. It is hard to become a first time parent whether you do it with someone, as a single parent or you have to coparent with someone. There is so much to learn that is hard to be prepared for. But unfortunately, they don’t give those of us that have been through an abortion much of a say in this matter on either side. I can see both sides of a coin or hear all sides and pull together a reasonable solution.

      @@sssssnake222 This is true… All I can do is learn from that mistake and make a choice to move on from it but decide… How am I going to make a difference? As I said in my longer response… They don’t give much of a voice to the women that have had them on either side. I do agree with Nicki Haley in the idea that you won’t be able to end abortion, but there needs to be better counseling for parents involved BEFORE and AFTER the decision.

  • @MrMac6375
    @MrMac6375 2 місяці тому

    Being a conservative these days does mean less government, not zero government. Bringing up an example of a woman dying on a hospital bed as a reason to abort, that's really straw manning. These days, barring some massive rare situation, a perfectly healthy child and mother, baby will be born just fine.
    As far as children being born disabled, to say abortion is valid for that, you just gave reason to off anyone not 10/10 in every way. Heck, many people, myself included, wear glasses, so I guess we should just off them because they're less than.
    This is why these issues can't just be do as you want, or it doesn't impact me so I don't care. It impacts society. Btw, I know of someone whose parents were told he'd have down syndrome and should be aborted. Turned out, other than a minor hearing issue, he came out perfectly healthy and NOT with down syndrome.
