Introducing Rat Rig V-Chonk

- The V-Chonk is a fun, open-source DIY project for tinkerers who want to build or self-source a compact CoreXY desktop printer. Combining a small footprint with being built from printed parts and mostly off-the-shelf hardware, our “Chonky Boy” is an ongoing experimental community project designed to push the boundaries of what can be done with 3D printing.
Join the community and let's keep developing it together!

That is TRULY ginormous for its print volume, lol.
The marketing team, or whoever came up with this idea deserves a raise. This is what makes 3D printing so much fun, and it will eventually turn into free advertising as more and more people make the printers using the files you created.
Requires a 400x400 printer to even print because of the base being over 350mm. Just FYI since most people that are gonna want to make this likely don’t own a printer that big.
an amazing project. the only thing is i need to finish my VC3.1 so i can print the base plate and bed arms - my X1C isn't big enough. lol
damn, that's a fun little project, but having a 400 mm class printer as a requirement for the biggest printed parts is an obstacle that's not so insignificant
pretty🤩
really a chonkyboi
Wasn't this already a thing for months, or it was in beta and doesn't have a kit?
Whats the size of the Print parts? Will it fit on my vcore4 in 500x500? 🎉
The largest component, which is the base, Seems to be around 37x35 cm. It's in their cad model.
EVERYTHING fits in that monster! :)
They said in the latest video 3hours ago that a bed 400x400 would do it! Can't wait to get my hands on a big 500 rat vcore4 ❤
When are we going to get a slicer that takes advantage of our bed???
200 nice
(375x375mm footprint = 180x180 printable area) of this vs (390x390mm footprint = 256x256 printable area) a bambu core-xy printer. You are JOKING!
who wrote the first part, feels like it was written by someone from outside or AI
V chonk XL??????
Tried building it, An absolute headache. The juice on this one really isn't worth the squeeze.
weak design
Kit = €632.94 :D
0:45 - "A 3D printed 3D printer". RepRap from 2009 is crying about being forgotten
they didn't claim to be the first one?
@@BillyAltDel neither that's something new, tho. Not the best part to be proud of nowadays
@@unregkiller ???
They’re saying that every single part of this printer that can be 3D printed is 3D printed. As opposed to V-core and Vorons that use CNCd parts and acrylic panels.
Very cool name have an updoot and gold kind stranger 🤓
Anyone buying this over a P1S is just lying to himself
Here we have a new printer for you:
1. You'll pay more
2. You'll get less but we would argue that you'll get more
3. You have to build it yourself
4. Anddd you have to print the frame yourself
5. BTW - no enclosure
having 12x P1S and 8x P1P... i'd agree with you... my vcore 500x500 barely gets used at all
@@biziluxgames8924 Thanks :)
I'd argue that the 500 has value like no other printer currently on the market, for those who need big prints

Some people enjoy having a “gadget” printer, not some soulless proprietary mess
This isn't gonna be 600€+ if you source parts and it has a cute name rather than a phallic sounding one
