As the owner of a fully upgraded Voron V2.4R2, I am very impressed by the design of the V-Core 4! You guys have done a great job addressing the weak points of the V-Core 3 by adding useful new features and quality of life improvements. RatOS looks amazing, as does the IDEX and Hybrid setups. Looking forward to learning more about them!
I am so excited for this machine! I had a Qidi Q1 that sucked, I returned it and now i’m going to not cut corners and get me a real machine. Thank you for all the hard work ratrig team!
I already built a VCore 500 and was gonna try a voron this time (got a troodon instead out of necessity ) but this new version stole my attention as well. Can't wait to add IDEX and mmu to the 400. Life will be complete after that.
I've built a 300 and 500 vc3, and a v0. I use the 300 all the time, 500 for large parts, and v0 is basically just toolbox decoration at this point. That being said, i will probably go for a 300 hybrid. I would really like to have 300x300x400
@philippschafer180 300 can definitely go faster before artifacts start showing up. I think the hybrid is a very good solution for the larger machines. Mass is obviously an issue, but so is belt length. I run mine relatively slowly compared to most people you see around here. 300 is between 80-200mm/s at 2-20k accel and 500 is 60-150 at 1-8k accel. About 3x normal mk3s speed. My 300 has a hf rapido, and could still go faster with uhf.
I'm really curious of the benefits of "hybrid mode" over simply replacing the current motor to a stronger higher performance motor? Seems like the hybrid mode complicates the design quite.
You and I chatted for a bit at Rocky Mountain RepRap Festival and I genuinely think you were one of 3 booths that actually truly interested me there. Hope you’re faring well and jet lag treats you well, I can’t wait to see what you are doing next! 🐀rigs forever!
So as an early bird I can't participate with IDEX giveaway? Since to participate you need to make new reservation. But I already reserved vcore 4 in early bird subscriper deal
I so want a 500x500 version...eventually. Building a print farm in the near future and looking at what printers I could use. So far considerations are the obvious X1C, Voron 2.4's and the Rat Rigs are looking like another possibility instead of going with Neptune 4 Max's for the "large" printers.
Firstly thank you for coming this far for what to me seems like should be an even bigger event. Maybe I just expected even more popularity than the niche I’m getting myself into here. I’m furthermore surprised that you have only 11k subscribers. As a proud American with a small amount of self awareness I do hope you had some choice dirty words for Walmart etc… some of the “idiosyncrasies” we have here are very well deserving of ridicule as I’m sure you know. Thank you for your hard work and that of your colleagues and will be ordering v4 as soon as my name comes up in the wait list. really is starting to look like the open source future that some programmer friends convinced me to keep my eyes on back in ~03. So few still seem to grasp the potential of what you/they are doing. Gonna need a mill too. RATM said “f the g ride I want the machines that are makin em”. Cheers.
Will it be a toolchanger style multi material or the purge filament type? Either way, even if it is purge, being able to use IDEX with it would be insanely good.
Thanks for showing more detail! I had an order in the cart for the early bird special, but did not complete it in time. Now I have it on the list, wanted to see more before committing
I think IDEX with the heated chamber and all of the other main features of this printer will make it unique. Only issue is why can't they supply side panels? That's a pain point for sure.
Oh man. Awesome. I am so thrilled! I ordered mine during early bird phase and I am so curious and keen to get this machine right to my workbench. Wow. I definitely will go for the hybrid and IDEX version later on. 100%. I think it will be an incredible new experience building this biest and let go wild ;) The new design is incredible cool. I just love it. Well done, RatRig Team.
Given the large footprint of the machine, what would it take to mount the electronics in a slide draw on the bottom of the machine? In other words, add cable management so one can slide and service the electronics from the front?
Ooo now that's an interesting idea. I might actually steal this one from you. Get some drawer slides of course, maybe print brackets to hold them to the extrusions. Might be awfully heavy though. Trouble is there is alot of wires to put into the umbilical and any quick disconnect means you use.
Hm, you'll need some long and thicker cables (voltage drop) and the heat might be an issue! The 500x500 bed heater is 1500w, which is 6,5amps on a 230 volts EU, the 400 is 1000W, so that's 4.4 amps, still no joke
Bro, I'm soooo proud too see a Portuguese company getting so much love from all around the world. I'd love to get this printer, she's hot as F**k 🤤🤤 Let's goooo 🇵🇹
Look's very good but curios about IDEX VAOC: 1. The camera for the VAOC will be close to the bed, and enclosed. Most cameras work up to 60 degrees Celsius and I'm interested only in engineering materials, that require 115 degrees bed - how will that work? 2. When released, will the IDEX require reservations? Obviously you won't have enough for all sold V-Cores 4, so how can one reserve upfront an IDEX?
Will the upgrade kit work for a VCast IDEX to CVORE 4? it has the upgraded 8mm bed which I believe is the V-Core 3 bed? It has an octopus with kipper. Maybe with some additional Steppers? I like what I am hearing about not leaving previous purchasers behind. AS a VCast owner, I feel I have. (Tall Wide IDEX).. so hope to move to a Vcore 4.
There doesn't seem to be any mention of the difference between "Bed Plate - Milled cast tooling plate" and the "Bed Plate - Cast tooling plate - Pre-Machined" listed in the custom configuration. Thoughts?
The cheaper variant of each size is the older version of the bed. The new version for the 400 and 500 is now 8mm instead of 6mm on the vcore 3. Dont know the differance between the 300mm though.
Reserved my 500! Couldn't find the IDEX-kit in the reservation, but I'm guessing it could be added later? Please make a video with the 500, I want to see that big beautiful baby in the flesh!
@Ratrig one think I love about bambu is their wiki. Most problems, maintenance, upgrades I can find solutions for with text and video. Will you be offering anything similar?
@@ratrighardware basically what I was getting at is instead of having to scour the internet and UA-cam for videos on how to do maintenance and replace parts they are all located in one section of the website/wiki. That's what I think every 3D printing company needs. I’ve explained this quite a few times: that’s actually not the case. Hybrid scales Y performance linearly, AWD doesn’t. Also they’re not mutually exclusive, you can do Hybrid AWD if you wanted. Besides that AWD requires pulley syncing, and doesn’t allow for the drop-in upgrades. It’s much more complicated and doesn’t do as much for larger machines as Hybrid does.
With AWD you get more power for both X and Y, but only Y needs more. Also AWD makes more complex transitioning from regular to Idex and you have more bulk on the front
