Hi mate, love your work, can i ask how does this work on a blockwork planter corner, how to get the neat finish, does it just butt up on the corner both sides, how do you hide the side of the tile the rough edge.
Lovely job Thanks for the video Scott I’ve got to put the wall tiles on a water feature I’m building for a customer great help knowing how to fix them up Your work is inspiring maybe one day il be as good as you
Nice one Scott ! That whole area looks so finished off with having a feature wall at the back instead of just a patio by its self ! Yeh the tiles can be a bit marmite to some but doesn’t detract from your input and skill great job mate hats off to you Scott 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I use external tile adhesive recommended by the supplier. Find that I have to work left to right as it can get messy try to fit the tile underneath the joint of the last tile. Good tidy job there btw
Hi Scott not sure if your watching your channel much these days but have a question hopefully you answer at some point When cladding a planter with dry stack and the porcelain patio meets it would you (A) tile upto the dry stack or (B) have the dry stack sat on top of the patio tile? Many thanks have a great Xmas 🎄 Joe
As mentioned in the reply, water from an internal shower will get behind the tiles as will rain water on this job shown.....there is no difference! Except when rain water gets behind the tiles shown in this video it will sit behind the tiles in the huge voids caused by just using a few lines of adhesive. This water will freeze in the winter and blow the tiles off the wall. There should be no voids behind the tiles particularly on an external project where water will get behind between the wall and tile. The wall and tile should be completely covered with using a notched trowel and external tile adhesive and if any oozes between the joints it should simply be wiped off. This video shows not how to stick tiles to an external wall.
Years and years just don’t kick any footballs at it or you’ll have bits all over the floor There are some concrete versions also these were slate 👍🏴
No they were supplied with the bullnose itself on the long stretch of wall I did have to trim them down it’s a stop it falling off and balance that was it 👍🏴
Lovely job Scott. I love your channel, you're as entertaining as you are skillful, which makes the videos fun to watch aswell as informative. Would love to see more grouting videos. Keep it up pal 👍
Definitely not over any paint because it will not bond with the wall properly, get the pressure washer on it first. Cover the back of the wall with plastic if possibly slow the dampness down 👍🏴
Great video learnt so much excellent work. I am looking to do a internal feature wall above a fire place,do you recommend to use no nails glue to stick the tiles to the wall or stick to adhesive? thanks

Quick Q, The system U are using, Will it stand up to water ingress, frost heave ( delamination from background) Ireland a lot of rain, especially winter time, is your system suitable for North facing ? Big Thanks in advance if U reply
Hi George and the answer to your question is the product itself is very delicate if I was to kick it with my boot bits would fall off so it’s not massively structurally sound especially expanding frost. Hope that helps 👍🏴
Can't believe what I am reading. George you are correct. Water will get behind these tiles and sit in the huge voids that are being formed by just using a few bead lines of adhesive. This water will freeze in winter and blow the tiles off the wall. This video shows how not to stick tiles to an external wall! You should never form voids behind tiles. You should cover the wall and tile with an external tile adhesive with a notched float / trowel. Then press the tile firmly on to the wall. then there will be no voids! If any adhesive comes out between joints then simply wipe it off. The reply you have been given is unbelievable. The comment about if the tiles are kicked with boots then bits will fly off is just beyond me. And the comment about the tiles not being massively structurally sound is the most ridiculous comment I've ever heard. "Not massively structurally sound"! Tiles are not at all structurally sound! They are not designed to take any weight loading so what does "not massively structurally sound" mean?
Great job, looks amazing! Thinking of doing this myself but with white rendered pillows. Can you please send me a link to these slate stone cladding? They look to be a decent quality and larger than what i can find
