- Today we start installing the best stone siding we have used to date. Versetta stone has been a favorite of ours for a long time. It is a great way to break up the siding on your home, and in my opinion, by far the most real looking and best faux stone siding on the market

Guys ... it's _great_ having the cameraman. Some of those shots while the two of you are working away are priceless - well worth the wage. So sweet - great documentation.
Agreed. Couldn’t be done with a static setup like the camera on a tripod. Thank you for the quality vids.

Kyle, throw down a layer of straw around the perimeter at the drip lines. Works great and is cheap.
Tuesday Tuesday. Special teams, special plays, special players.
Can’t believe he quoted Sketch 🤦♂️
Thank you brother! 🤓☝
For the last 3+ years I thought you were saying Rosetta Stone. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mouth made Tool guitar sounds
@@deftar86 😅😅😅
Wait that's not what it's called? woops. 😅
@@youtubasoarus 😅😅😅😅
I didn't read the title until after reading your comment..I still thought he was saying Rosetta
It's late (10:53 pm cst) but I'm here. Let's settle in and enjoy the next episode.
the charcoal against the solid black metal frames of the doors, windows looks amazing.
Thumbs up for the Versetta Stone. Love this product. I did my garage and fireplace with this stuff. Super easy to work with!
Kyle.
I always appreciate your willingness to try new products .
I've been watching you guys since you started and it's a pleasure watching you guys work. The precision you work with is always spot on.
Kyle, I am living my dream shop dream vicariously through you good Sir. It looks AWESOME!!!
Great channel Kyle. I was introduced to it by a friend a couple of months ago and I've been binge watching all your playlists. Keep'em coming, because I'm gonna run out soon. And yes, I would love to see the garage door installs and gutters.
I have hauled alot of Versetta in my truck driving career for a major building material wholesaler but never watched it installed. Thanks for the lesson
Even though I've never met Greg, I feel like he's our buddy too!
As always great job, Gregg knowing what you need in advance is the sign of a good labourer. All these years maybe make him a partner R & R G !!.😁
From seeing you guys excavate the land to where you’re at now looks truly amazing. Can’t wait to see the finished product. Great job you guys.
That looks amazing. Good job, Greg.
love to see section drawings of the building details. Top notch builder

Great progress made Kyle & Greg! Well done buddies! 😁👍🏼
The teamwork and camaraderie you guys have just make the results that much better! That building is going to look great decades from now. Take that pride in your work, you deserve it!!! Thanks for bringing us along!!
The stone looks super awesome !!!
Looks beautiful. Job well done
That's great looking stone! Great video!
The stone is really gonna set off the looks of your shop. Excellent job guys. 👍👍👍👍👍💥💯💥💯💥
Yes be interested in guttering details video. Great series
"I'm better looking and You're.... Younger"😂
It was like: "One of us is smarter than you."
Looking good there guys. I am sure Kyle you are going to have an awesome workshop.
I like it when people talk about their over sights.
Im looking forward to moving in!
lookin good fellas. Nice work
NW AR checking in. Great video as always guys. Warm weather ahead.
Love your channel! Your video person does an excellent job!
Outside inground faucet that is frost or freeze proof in WA and OR we call it a frost free hydrant. Has to be set below the freezing line underground and the hydrant drains empty when the water is shut off. They are great!
Excellent video, did some marathon viewing the last 2 days watching playlists catching up on videos I missed, very interesting...
Nice job, here in the UK we generally call what you describe as the reference line a "Datum Line"
31:06 we get to see that Paslode nailer!! Finally a alternative to the Dewalt!!!
Looks awesome
Good morning happy Thursday Great weekend 👍👌👍✌️🙏🙏🙏😀
Love the "bro" usage.
Nice job
Could always do 5/4 LP trim for corners and stone up to them, would look clean. I also like the look of stone on the sides and above the access door (or front door on a house), makes it look more grand.
They need to make an outside corner trim piece somehow. That's my only hangup on the product. Plan to use the black on a build coming up so thanks for that. Wanted to see how it looks. I like it
Frost-free hydrant is the term, Kyle. And Iowa is the best brand I've found.
thats my dad rach, his favorite is hope though. but your my favorite
Looking great. Thanks for sharing. And I would really like to see the gutter installation as well as the garage doors. If the workers are ok with being filmed please put them on.
Will do
I never tire of seeing you guys work, great content.
Very nice accent for your shop, looks great, pricey touch for most prehaps, but I like it a lot. Ray
Looking fantastic as always guys! I wish I would of went with that stone but it was backordered and I went with Gemstone, which is actually just closed cell foam made to look like stone, it's super easy to cut and install, I'm just worried how it will look after the summer heat gets to it, will have to see at the end of the summer. The guys finished up the install of my ceiling and I've been busy installing the lights and fans. I'm hoping they will install the wall tin next Tuesday, since it's supposed to storm again. Take care and don't work too hard guys!
I also used genstone about 5-6 years ago. My outside corner pieces have faded considerably which now makes it look even more fake.
Kyle, Love watching you and Greg work. You guys are a well oiled machine and really seem to love what you do. I'm a big fan of Versetta or Evolve Stone and plan on using it on my new house I'm designing now. I know Versetta Stone has the built in water/air channel behind it, but it seems like way too small a gap. Was curious about your reasons for not using a true rainscreen, like slicker max, behind the stone. I've been told that having a min 1/4" behind the cladding, is important to get the proper air flow to dry out any water that gets behind. Some building scientists encourage 3/4" for best results.
Absolutely love the way that stuff looks! ❤ I was wondering if you can use it with brick walls?
I'm always surprised Versetta doesn't have a corner pre cast available. Seems like a big oversight in their catalog...
Would love to see and hear more about the gutter install and the big garage doors coming up.
I grew up with Iowa hydrants as well (actually in Iowa) but I like hydrants on the building for the utility. I put them around the corner on both sides from the front about 3 feet up (none of this bending over nonsense and kinked hoses because they're too close to the ground.)
No precast corner(s) is astounding to me as well. If Versetta has been working with them for 8 years, you would think this would have been solved long ago.
Spray the weather shield the same colour at the stone where they’re abutted together just in case you can see the blue colour
Damn Greg you are killing it buddy!! Kyle’s aight I guess….😂
Is Kyle the real mastermind behind the buildings or Greg? Starting to realize the real genius. 😊
Hey Kyle, I would recommend regular cancer screenings. Iowa is in the top states for cases due to all the contaminated ground water from the feed lots and over use of nitrogen.
"It's my pole and I'll touch it if I want". 🤣🤣🤣
You could run a quick temp gutter next time. Just to protect that specific area.
I worked in the Chester SC plant and ran the Versetta line 2nd shift. Because of the housing market we had to shut the plant down. 😢 But its a very good product.
My concern would be water infiltration between those gaps.
I know there should be a gap between the wall and stone to allow any water to drain off.
That green exterior wall product has no problems with water infiltration or water absorbtion ?
when he said "thank you brother" 👆
I would love to see the doors go in as I know what they are like to do in the UK
I love the way it looks, great job. Is it real stone made of? Is watter goes in between stones, behind stone? How is that works? I'm just quires
H&S offers the options of solar panels also
I've said it before, but it bears repeating: Versetta Stone should make corners, with asymmetric lengths, in a random pattern. Those would eliminate the raw edge issue ... which I find detracts significantly from the overall aesthetic.
Looking great as always!
For your corners, I wonder if you could cope or relieve the back of the overlapping piece. I’m thinking of those diamond blades that chuck into a grinder for cutting tile, but there could be a better tool. Like you said at 45:05 it will probably take more time and be messier, but it may yield a better product that is worth it. If you already have the tools, it’s at least worth hacking away at scrap pieces to go through the motions and test.
Looks good but why you didn't ordered outer corners for perfect finish like you done before all yours projects? I am watching all yours videos and how you grow in our eyes. Thank you for all videos.
Awesome work and love your tool choices. DeWalt tools suck and I don't recall seeing those on your channel and I've watched every one of your videos.
i would paint it black the ends of the stones by the doors and the corners its easy to do
Best color I've seen. Is that a newer color they came out with?
As a gc and 20 year carpenter I know a lot of builders love versetta, check out affinity stone, way faster install and imo a better product. Also check out diamond kote 5d building wrap
The word you keep looking for is BM bench mark. They’re usually found throughout the job site. So you have your reference point
27:32 is it the Paslode gas coil nailer? We already got them here in Australia
just seeing who was underground thats all, im trying to spend quality time with rach
39:05 “6 inches, that’s about how small I like to go” 😂
They need to make a pre cast corner piece.
It's called a yard hydrant AK.
A frost free hydrant
Great work. Would you put tar paper behind that at all??
Kyle can you explain the sizes and why.. Also the down spout sizing. I've asked a few pros and get the "this is what we always done" as the reason. Plse and thnx
Would cedar breather or a similar rain screen product work behind this cladding material?
I’m very much looking forward to your gutter installation, Kyle ! Also, is there any possibility of you guys being able to come to Georgia to build a combination shop and garage for me ? Please consider doing this as a chance to grow your popularity and see the area near the home of the Master’s golf tournament, Augusta, and Evans, Georgia !
great vid, im surprised there isnt a "paint" the product manufacturer recommends for cut ends to hide the cuts even more.
im a former gutter guy i would like see the installation. how far out does the drip edge sit from fascia board . thanks KYLE really appreciate your attention to detail.
I'd be gutted if you didn't show the gutter process. Great stuff Kyle and Greg!
I saw what looked like a Paslode coil nailer in the background. Could that be the new nailer they are coming out with?
Do you like the dewalt roofing nailer? Is it prone to jamming?
In Norway, we adhere to a building practice where we leave an inch to one and a half inches of open space between the cladding and sheathing. This serves multiple purposes, such as allowing for water drainage in case of infiltration and aiding in keeping the wall cool when directly exposed to sunlight.
That gets done in US also, at least in my region. In some areas it is code. Usually referred to as a rainscreen or ventilated rain screen here.
Frost free hydrant
With the gutters, I really hope that you’ll pipe the water away from the building with schedule 40 PVC! Don’t use any corrugated pipe because it blocks easily, gets crushed easily and is really hard to lay flat with enough fall. Make sure you have a decent number of down spouts too. I’m interested in where you’re gonna run the water.
You'll never see it from my house 😂 I thought Greg was going to say tag your it when he got your hat with the pole
Awesome stuff Kyle, the stone's looking really good! 😃👍🏼👊🏼 ... If you happen to end up with a bunch of Versetta that sit a little too high, have you ever tried hitting the bottom tongue with a a grinder to knock it down a bit? .... Being that you have various brands of cordless power tools, for the rare occasion that you end up on the porch wanting to charge your phone, I know that at least DeWalt and Milwaukee (probably other brands as well) make adapters/chargers for their battery packs so you can charge your phone, laptop, or other devices, so if you don't already have some of those hanging around in the shop, you might want to consider picking up at least one or two, could come in handy in a pinch, or in an emergency, just sayin', I'm not trying to sell you on it or anything, I myself have the DCB094K USB Charging Kit from DeWalt, and it pretty much just sits in the the tool bag with my drill and impact driver, but it's there if I ever need it.
I would think nailing on stud would also help and some sort of weather barrier between joints?
I've notices you guys have been rocking the badgers for a while. What happened to you diamondbacks? How do you like the badgers? Had mine (carpenter set) for about 6 months and I love it.
would you ever consider doing the versetta stone all the way up the wall?
Which style of gutter mount is being used for the building?
No rain screen necessary behind the stone?
Can this go below grade if covered with gravel at grade and not soil?
In our area, we need 2 vapor barriers behind masonry. That stuff looks like it has something on the back?
Have you built a large garage with a living quarters loft area
Im curious to see how you're going to handle the drainage for that massive roof.
Can you put this on a rain screen?
How does water drain behind this stone siding? I know with overhang roof its not a big issue but still should have rainscreen behind most of it if your going to spray it down in time.
Can this be installed over stucco?
