I'm anxiously awaiting your video on fat pad impingement. I think you make the best physical therapy videos on youtube. There are a couple of videos out there on fat pad impingement, but there's nothing consistent in them. I'd really like to see your take on it!

I've bumped it up the list but it will unfortunately still be a while before I can get to it.

Like most of the other folks to watch videos I think you have the best and most Informational. I was moving out of my apartment the other day to start a new job when my knee popped when I was carrying a couple small boxes down the steps. My knee stiffened up and had some slight swelling. I used R.I.C.E. therepy and NSID and felt good for a 4 days until the mourning of the 5th day. It doesn't hurt to bend my knee when sitting or lying down!, only when I bear weight on it. I dislocated my patella over 30yrs ago. I feel pain across the lower inside of the knee below the patella I did the McMurray test by bending and twisting my knee to check for popping and cracking to indicate a meniscus tear. It did not indicate that I had a severe anterior meniscus tear maybe some micro tears along with strained anterior ligaments. I will go get an evaluation by an orthopedic specialist. I feel like I can use the exercises that I have learned to help rehabilitate myself so I can get back to work if I don't lose this job seeing how it's only my second day there and my insurance doesn't kick in until the 1st of January 2024. I just moved to a new city and a new job and in between insurance providers and this could not have come at a worse time

This is helpful . . . I was diagnosed with patella femoral pain syndrome though the Dr was not very confident and it took two visits for him to suggest it. The first time he just said it might be a nerve in my back and I do have (according to a CT scan) Spondylolysis and Spondylolisthesis of the at L5-S1 which Ive probably had for 50 years. But now watching this I believe it's more likely a Quadriceps Tendon issue. It's been bothering me on and off for 3 years. Leg extension exercises seem to help a lot but if I quit doing them for a few weeks it returns. It might bother me first thing in the morning but then I went on a 10 mile run/walk and it did not bother me but then it bothers me again later in the day. Just one session on a leg extension machine makes it feel better.
It's towards the top of the knee cap at the front and slightly outside (lateral) but still seems like it's under the knee cap but these pains are hard to pinpoint. I cannot find a sore spot by poking at it no mater how many times or how hard I try. It never hurts when the knee is strait or locked. Sometimes it can be pain free and then on just one step a spike of pain that almost causes my knee to buckle and then nothing again . . . it's frustrating.
I am just this year trying to do some trail running after thousands of miles of backpacking in the last 4 years but I am taking it slow and like I said, it does not hurt while running and I'm just running short 1/4 to 1/2 mile at a time while hiking so that I run maybe 2-3 miles of a 8-10 mile hike.

It does sound like quite a severe irritation of the patellofemoral joint (under the kneecap) but this is just a guess because I really can't tell without assessing it. A physio should be able to diagnose it for you and help you on the route to recovery.

i get a stinging pain on the inner part of the knee after running.
ive had this pain before and it goes away within a week and im back to running.
this time the pain has been lasting for about a month.
its not painful when i walk or run and i dont notice it most of the day. if i run..after is when it starts to feel stingy.
it never hurts unless i do certain movement. it feels like something is pulling on that area. it feels tight.
for example, if i bend over to pick something from the ground, it feels stingy and tight. like its getting the inner knee is getting pulled.
it doesnt hurt a lot. it just stings and is uncomfortable.
is it tight muscles from running and never stretching after? if so, what muscles should i stretch?
    thnx.

It's really difficult to guess at what it might be without testing several movements. There are several structures in that area that can cause similar symptoms and what you are describing does not fit a specific injury profile.

I was watching your video about supination and I am having a problem with that on my left foot. I have been seeing a chiro/PT for related hip/knee/ankle pain that started a couple of months ago. I'm not sure what I did - I do have a right rotated hip and a 1/2 in foot size. I am doing adductor exercises and squats on a vibrating board. I have been telling the therapist that my left foot feels different when I walk as well as my leg feels out of alignment. I have been to therapy 3x and getting some relief but I think the problem is in my foot. I do barre and pilates classes every other day. I'm wondering if the Barre class has not been a good choice for me. I wear my sneakers when doing this class because I am trying to keep my pelvis aligned. I have ordered a set of orthotics which I really hope will help. Any advice would help. Maybe my therapist is missing the problem area. Seems to be focused on my glutes/legs right now.

Do you have any tips for a potential saphenous nerve entrapment, causing dull pain and tingling in the inner knee area? There's an increased strain/stretch on the area when posteriorly rotating the pelvis.

had hamstring for 4 months and bulged disc on getting a mri scan.. doing strengthening feel better than before sometimes cramps occur ..next week iam having a division final match in order to reduce the pain while I run can I take painkillers before the match or any other medication? ...

    • @SportsInjuryPhysio
      @SportsInjuryPhysio  Рік тому

It is not good to take pain medication before you exercise because:
      1. You may injure yourself worse because you won't feel pain
      2. If you dehydrate they can injure your kidneys
