Another video of deep philosophical musings that draws one in to begin to contemplate the richness and varied path of life that we choose to tread . As the saying goes, you don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Thank you. That really makes my day that you enjoy my contemplations on your always insightful commentary. It seems to me that one of the most magical gifts the Camino gives one, is the time and space to have deep inner conversations and observations with self. To learn to approach life with the joy and curiosity and wonderment of a child. As adults we often take the everyday as mundane and forget to embrace the almost ethereal way that life unfolds and how we, the creators of our reality and the part we play in bringing it into fruition is to always be marvelled at and to remember never to lose that childlike, wide eyed delight 🙏🏼🥰

My Irish ancestors arrived in Canada in 1820. (No worries, my family history will stop here!) Therefore, to see and hear a bagpiper in Galicia really caught my attention in more ways than one, and got me to read on the topic. It is evidently a fantastic way of appreciating Galicia and its unique differences, one of many it seems. And I love the fact that the bagpiper's sound can be heard before and after we see him. And beware Galicians, when I'm there, I will ask many questions. You have been warned!
And the birds are again back in full force. Always a winner in my book. Have you met any ornithologist while walking? Must be paradise for them.
And I'll try to not make this too much about all I see, hear and understand about this video. But at 10 past 6am, still dark, we hear a truck engine. It signals departure, for the long ride ahead. See? I can keep it simple. Even though the temptation to comment on all of it, where I would want to comment, is irresistible. But I'll resist. But "the beauty and immediacy of the present, you drink from the delicious wellspring of the now". I could stop here. I won't. But one thing is certain: if the Camino needed a spokesperson to convince people to walk it, you'd be that person.
The stop sign is great. I know, some will say it's vandalism. Officially, yes. But everywhere I've been, I've been interested in graffiti. It is a form of communication, like it or not. "Stop walking and enjoy the moment" !
So many beauty shots again. At 1:40, a black sign with the sun and a dark road. Nature and its effect on the human spirit. The Camino and its hidden secrets. Old trees, seen by so many for a thousand years or so
I like the comparison between deep philosophical thoughts with the constant ever present worrying about losing/forgetting things you carry every day, spiced up with coffee cravings and dwindling cookie supplies! Not a monotonous life on the Camino!
And the Camino in reverse. Fun bit! Might as well just hold up a sign saying "Buen Camino" ! And I think inane thoughts are a must!
And as soon as you mention Ireland, the bagpipes at the 100km mark.
Was it salmon? Did you bring it on your long night walk?
    Nice job again, Gerrit.

hey Bruce! thanks for another insightful comment - I appreciate how closely you are watching my videos...
      - it's funny you mention the Camino Spokesperson thing because I sometimes feel like I'm making ads for the Camino... which I don't, of course - but i'll admit that I think that many would benefit from walking the walk.
      coffee cravings are REAL!
      ha.
ok... working on my last one...
      buen camino!

“The point of walking is the walk. So just focus on the walk itself and not getting there or being there.” I will try to keep this front of mind when I walk the Camino in May.
