Thanks for the informative video, just in time for us 10/03/2023 - 10/19/2023 in about two weeks! We’re planning to do Sarria to Santiago to Finisterre! Love your web site and truly appreciate all the albergues information provided; we’ll be using it to book our camas or rooms! Enjoy your lovely daughter, they grow up fast!
Hi. Thank you for the comment. We hope you enjoyed the Camino. I think you were quite lucky with the weather except maybe the last couple of days. I just walked the last part of the Portuguese Camino from Tui and was very lucky with the weather. Buen Camino
Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I enjoyed it very much. We are planning a trip in late Sept. Early Oct 2022. Hoping Covid will have calmed down, maybe even dissipated enough for all places on The Way to be open and welcoming!
I am in Sarria and I was looking for a video to help me with my walk to Santiago tomorrow. This was such an easy way to understand and it was so amazing information! Thanks
Well done! We walked the Camino Ingles in the same week you arrived in SdC. Your website resource about the Ingles was really helpful. It was a beautiful, but tough Camino. We're now planning the Camino Portugues next September and have already booked our outbound flight to Porto!
Thank you for the comment! Congratulations on finishing your first Camino! I must say it gets addictive! We're planning to walk the Portuguese Camino again next year May with some of our family. Haven't booked anything yet but will have to do more planning this time our family members prefer when everything arranged in advance)
Buen camino.. nice video sis👍 I dit it in october last year camino from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela.. it’ s amazing journey in my life. Thanks God🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you! I walked it in September last year from St.Jean what an amazing experience it was! I can't wait when we can walk the Camino again, we had a couple of routes planned for this year but had to cancel everything.
I am going to the Camino in 2025. I am coming from Los Angeles, California to Barcelona then to Sirria. Then back to Madrid to Los Angeles, California Thank you.
I think we were 3 weeks ahead of you. It was quite busy, we did not want to wait so long, as a result, not received the document. But all in all, we were not disappointed!

Greetings from Russia, Alya!😀 We're also planning Camino Portugues next May😀, hopefully we'll start at the end of May from Ponte da Lima and go all the way to Finisterre. Thanks for your very inspiring website and this channel!😀
Graciás! España es mi país favorito! He pasado much tiempo allí. Todavía quedan muchos Camino por caminar, el año que viene queremos hacer el Camino de Madrid, el San Salvador y el Camino de los Faros.
@@johanverm90 thanks Johan, we came to Nepal in February to do some trekking before the Camino season, still stuck here under lockdown. No Camino for us this year 😔 Hopefully next year we'll be back!
Thank you for the comment, Dave! I like walking fast, on the Camino you don't really have time for training and walking 5km per hour is a good exercise.
Thank you for your informative videos! I'm new to the camino and at first was going to do the Camino Ingles, but after see this video the last 100km from Sarria it looks beautiful. Is there a website where you can book lodging along the route instead of taking a chance on the alberegues? Thank you-happy trails!
Hello, Donna! Thank you for the comment! In this post stingynomads.com/camino-frances-sarria-santiago-walk/ you can find booking links to different hotels and guesthouses along the route, you can book places in advance.
I like the route from Tui more maybe because it's less busy than the Camino from Sarria. It depends on when you walk as well. If in the peak season then the Camino from Tui is better (fewer people). If you walk offseason it's better to do the Sarria route because it has more accommodation options that stay open during winter.
yes, for any Camino route you walk you suppose to get two stamps per day for the last 100km. We didn't do it when we walked other Caminos and were able to get our Compostelas but from what I've heard they do ask two stamps if you walk the Camino Frances.
Alfica, thank you for your most excellent documentary. One question, please. If I am starting in Sarria, where will I pick up my passport which I will need in order to collect the stamps along the way? Thank you!
I really appreciate you sharing your journey. In three weeks, I'll be embarking on the same route for the first time. I have a question - what kind of guide did you use to guide to find the hostels/albergues, like a paper map? Did you find Google Maps reliable for navigating the Camino from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela? How did you ensure you stayed on the right path and avoided taking wrong turns? I went to the Stingynomads website and downloaded all 5 stages. I still wanna have some reliable maps. Thanks.
Hello. I hope you've enjoyed the walk. The route from Sarria is very-well marked and has many pilgrims at no point I felt like I needed a map to find the way. Buen Camino
Hi. The Camino from Sarria is easily can be planned without a tour operator. The route is very well marked, there are plenty albergues, and quite a lot of people. Buen Camino
I just received my Camino Passport today. I'm planning on walking the Camino de Santiago from Sarria, but my only question is where do I start? Do I just arrive at Sarria and get my first stamp at a church or what? I'm a little lost when it comes to this.
Hello. You arrive in Sarria and if you want to get a stamp there you can do so at a municipal albergue or Church of Santa Marina or some other churches in the town. Sarria is al about the Camino. There will be hundreds of pilgrims you want get lost. You can get stamps pretty much at every bar, cafe, or restaurant along the route. Every time you stop for a coffee you can get a stamp. Every albergue or hotel you stay can stamp your Credential. As well as every church along the route. Don't worry you'll figure it out. The Camino route goes out of Sarria past the Church of San Salvador on the street you'll see yellow shells and arrow that you follow. Buen Camino
I am from Florida and walking the French way in sept of 2020. I am curious to know way you switched hotels in Santiago and where did you end up at after you moved? I like the look of the second room much better.
Hi! Many people want to stay at Seminario Mayor after arriving in Santiago and there are not that many cheap rooms there. I thought it would be unfair if I occupy the room for several days it's more of an experience than a cheap place to stay. I moved to a small pension next to the cathedral Pension Residencia Fonseca it had only a few rooms, very cosy and nice place. You can find more details and a booking link at the end of this post stingynomads.com/camino-frances-sarria-santiago-walk
I have a question no one else asks. I have been watching your vids and in a couple vids you show your watch with the huge numbers. Could you please tell me what watch it is? Thank you
Hi, Dave! How are you doing? We both have Garmin Fenix 5 GPS watches. We use them a lot for hiking, walking, running and even swimming. There is a newer model Fenix 6. It has all the same functions (distance, time, elevation, calories, heart rate, etc.) plus a couple of new features. You can download GPS maps of different routes and use them for hiking which is great is you do a hike that is not well-marked. It gives you your oxygen level which is quite nice to know when you hike high in the mountains. None of these two is really necessary for the Camino.
You said that your last day was 40 km which is close to 25 miles but at the beginning of the film the last day was only 20 km. Did you miss a day of hiking. I am just curious.
Hi. Most of the route is on a pretty smooth gravel road I think it's possible to walk it with a stroller, there are many restaurants and hotels along the Camino finding accommodation or stopping for food won't be a problem.
What is a 'real pilgrim? and what gives you the right to judge? Many do not have the time or resources to make the 'full walk' as you call it from St.Jean. I've made the walk from St.Jean twice, from Sarria once and the del Norte. I've learnt that that some can walk 779km and learn nothing . I wish you well and safe on the way but I would implore you to reconsider your thoughts on what constitutes a pilgrim and pilgrimage.
Loved your videos, great commentary, photography, and music. Thanks for the adventure. Peace.
I’ll be there in September. Can’t wait!
Excelente el vídeo. Resumo my Camino desde Sarria en Junio. Te agradezco los consejos y recomendaciones. Saludos cordiales desde Miami, EEUU. 👍🏼

Congratulations. You are a strong walker. In my experience you can walk 30 kms after a rest and a good nourishing lunch with meat or fish.
At 18:35 - The World Famous Beer Bottle Bar. You're almost to Santiago - ULTREIA !!!
Really helpful. Thanks

Would trainers/athletic shoes be okay or hiking boots? I’m doing the last 100km. from Sarria.
Felicidades eres un ejemplo a seguir ,la mejor de las suertes en tus aventuras saludos
Great video, do you have to handover the credential/stamp passbook to get the certificate?
No, you just show it at the office, they look through it and give it back. You can keep it as a memory.
Enhorabuena!!! Hablas muy bien también español!!! Poca gente conozco que tenga seis compostelas también vi el otro vídeo!!! 💪💪💪💪😍

hola. do you set up a data plan with a new sim when you started the camino?
Is 5km hr normal and I see hostels are around 5 euros. well done and especially enjoyable to watch. Please do more. Thank you

Loved this! Which route would you choose for first timers... Portuguese interior route from Tui or from Sarria? 2 friends walking in our 60's.

Hi! You can buy a Credential (Pilgrim's Passport) at some private albergues, Church of Santa Maria de Sarria or Monastery La Magdalena.

Hi. Most of the route is on a pretty smooth gravel road I think it's possible to walk it with a stroller, there are many restaurants and hotels along the Camino finding accommodation or stopping for food won't be a problem.
What time of year did you walk?
Hi. I walked the Sarria part end of September
How if you need toilet while walk ?
Hello. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes along the route that let pilgrims use their facilities even if you do not eat or drink there.
Do you have a video of what you packed with you?
Yes, here it is ua-cam.com/video/C9r-irFmTHg/v-deo.html
