Jen gave her husband 3k of her OWN money to gamble in Vegas!! She didn’t even know the girls were taking her to chippendales and when she found out she told her husband, who then preceded to call her so many names and tell her how bad of a mother she was and also threatened divorce. His parents also gave them money to get him through medical school and he gambled it away, forcing Jen to support him through his schooling

i could listen to a whole hour of sarah explaining math concepts and physics, they explain things so well. i also discovered an enjoyment of math as an adult and i love listening to people talk about it.

56:03 to be clear, in the show, the only one rubbing oil on the men is the single one. The husband is threatening divorce for Jen simply being at the show. It was a surprise, she had no idea that’s where they were going until they got there and that is why people feel like the husband is controlling. She did nothing in the situation for him to react like that especially when he gambled away the thousands of dollars she had given him

The math = life discussion is SO on point! I've been learning about the mathematics in Anti-racist activism and peer/group collaboration lately and it's been BLOWINggg my mind. So happy to hear other people getting Autistically nerdy about it, too

i love the banter at the beginning, I’m writing a lesbian romance novel and I’ll take your comments into consideration, because what you pointed out were actual weak points that had me doubting. Thank you!❤

taylor frankie paul went in nick vial’s podcast to tell the side of her story. the ‘soft swinging’ group only initially consisted of her and her husband; and taylor’s best friend and her husband. eventually another couple joined them after about a year or so. the reason why she said that everyone in mom tok was swinging is because she didn’t want to out her best friend at the time

I’m not Mormon, but I grew up around a lot of them - it’s my understanding that if someone breaks the rules of the church, you have to get divorced or else you don’t get to go to Heaven. Particularly for women - their afterlife is completely dependent on their husband’s status in the church. I knew a Mormon family where the dad cheated on the mom and she had to divorce him and remarry another Mormon to stay in good standing with the church

Something you learn in like a playwriting class is if your story doesn't have a conflict that raises the stakes in the character's life, then your story doesn't need to be written. You could be like Michael Chekhov and write something like "The Cherry Orchard" where absolutely nothing happens, but thats a specific style of his own creation.

What’s crazy is I don’t even think Jen rubbed oil on a Chippendale, she simply took a group photo with everyone and immediately felt bad and said this isn’t a good look and removed herself. Then her husband threatened divorce and took the kids, truly wild

Me & my wife just moved to SLC and we stumbled upon a reddit thread for Mormon swingers, then upon further investigation we found around 25+ different reddit threads for Mormon swapping, wlw, m4m, groups, etc.. literally every facet you could think of has a subreddit. The shortly after I heard about this show, and we were not surprised after all of the threads we found online. Those people are 100% doing these things all of the time while also looking down at me and my wife lol, typed with all shade.

Kendahl you have to read Last Night at the Telegraph Club! It's a lesbian slow-burn that takes place in SF Chinatown in the 1950s and has tons of angst.

kendahl i would really recommend a lesbian romance called: those who wait by: haley cass, it’s super fun and one of the love interests is in politics (even though it’s unrealistic). also for sarah, i really recommend bright young women by: jessica knoll, it’s fiction, but it focuses on a male serial killer who targets particularly women who are “full of life” and the victims friends work together to bring him to ruin. great story that focuses on women and defiance of the patriarchy.
