Morning Tom , I’m pleased to report after spending time with you with my White Swiss Shepherds , I learnt how to tweak what I was doing as a handler. Sassy won her class in show the Nxt weekend and didn’t move was calm and more confident and walking around in public has been heaps better, but it was me that changed the most I think . I learnt so much from you and the Master of Puppies I will be forever grateful thank you for making the time for us! Buddha m Sassy and Caroline 🇦🇺✌️🐾🐾🐾
My mistreated lived life on a chain border mix would NOT let you get near petting his head or face when I got him... Thanks to Tom and his videos he's integrated into my pack and wakes me up at night to have his face petted. Not ideal where sleep is concerned but he gives me full eye contact, has good recall on the back two acres now and will let anyone approach front his face and let him... Patience was key with him... Na dbeing careful how I moved around him for his first few months. Toms advice on his vids are monumental ❤
@@tomdavisofficial thank you! It was so sad to see a young pup so hand shy around his face and head... Now he relishes petting if the face, mouth, ears etc and he'll be good to go for the vet on his next visit ❤
Dusty is the same as my rescue GSD. I'm happy to report though that she's doing amazing 🐾🙏 I love your advice and the videos have helped me so much 🙏 she's on a prong collar and that's been a game changer. Thank you Tom ☺️
Rescue GSD/Malinois here too and she is magnificent, my best heart dog 1 year later!! Watching and learning from Tom has been so helpful in training her. Tom did an excellent job of using thoughtful calmness to help break down the fearful reactivity to instead build trust. Well done!
We are owned by a rescue Belgian Malinois. Since she is a rescue, we don't know a lot of her history (I have a feeling that she wasn't socialised as a puppy). When we adopted her two years ago, she was absolutely terrified of most people, to the point where she would hide behind me and shake like a leaf. It took 7 months of very slow, patient desensitisation before she was comfortable enough to greet people I was talking to, although she doesn't like for people to pet her unsolicited. At the vet's, she will ask my permission to go with the vet tech to be weighed (I'm her person as well as her partner). Oddly enough, she's fantastic with everyone at the vets.
I love that the results you show and explain are not what people expect them to be. Your not trying to please your audience your there to actually get results for the dog..
Takes as much practice to relax as to train the dog. Took me ages just to be calm, confident and definite about what I wanted my dog to do if things got tricky. I finally learned to mostly zone out what’s happening on the periphery and just take control. That seems to be Tom all the time, know wonder the dogs respond so well to him. Great to watch.
Thank you Tom and team, Rusty did so well and I loved that you were looking for calm not a reaction which is what he really needed. This is real training not pretty training… and I’m so glad it can be used to help people that really need the real stuff. Tom mentioned in the seminar I need to not be so hard on myself and realise how far we have come in the last two years with this boy (he could not be approached or touched when we took him in, and was scared of life) so actually seeing in this video the amount Rusty checks in with me which I haven’t really realised the timing on this before gave me some perspective on how far we have come in the last 2 years so thank you. He is looking for guidance on how to react not just reacting and that made me sit back & feel proud so thank you for letting me see a different perspective. Our next goal is to have our vet be able to hear his heart beat for the first time & be able to touch him not sedated. Wish us luck, and thank you again xx 😊
As I'm only twenty-years-old and lived my younger years being poorly mistreated, I've found closure and acceptance through teaching others to care for themselves first. Originally, I planned to venture into the physiological field. But I found myself volunteering at a shelter building strong relationships with the dogs there, training using your shared knowledge and experience, and helping them become more desirable to keep them off "puppy death row". Thank you so much for your free knowledge, videos, tips, etc. You should understand how directly you've helped others. I aspire to make a career assisting in the same way.
This is what I love to see. Great work. I had an over 40kg Doberman who fear bit and you are spot on in how to get them to overcome their fear. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
Tom, you are the best. I love your approach to training. Other dog trainers I have used expected way too much, way too soon. One “trainer” actually flipped my dog over on her back, by jerking the leash, on the dog’s very first try at heel.
It is amazing how I can see thru, you are genuinely just straight up care for the dogs and the dogs it self. You humbly educate dog parents, honestly I am just running out of words to express how impressed and grateful of what you do. Thank you so much Tom ! ❤❤❤ - Eka and Hugo -
I've been watching your videos for a while and using them to work with my two reactive border collies. The progress I've made with them has been amazing and I am so happy that I found this channel!
Pleasure to watch you. It constantly reminds me to be calm, speak calmly and read your dog's body language in any situation. Now I must master that......transform self to make it easier for the dog to relax and learn.
Maybe one day I'll make my way to your facility to learn from you. I really like this training style and am working my foster Mal like this. Slow and steady.
I bought a puppy that was 18 weeks old. This was about 6 weeks ago. In that time, I've noticed a ton of behavior issues. Zak George videos were the first ones i came across when looking for help training my pup. He has confidence issues and anxiety. He's reactive to other dogs and people when he's on the leash. He's resource guarding sporadically with random stuff like pieces or paper he finds or stuff he wasn't protective of normally. Just today, I went to give him his kong in the crate. He saw me grab the kong out the freezer and ran in his crate, all excited like normal. I reached in to take off his house lead, and he bit me within a second with a growl. It was so random that i broke down in tears. I've spent every waking moment that I'm not at work trying to work with him and play with him and build our relationship and show him i only want the best for him. I've tried every single thing he's shown from hours of his videos. And while it works for basic stuff like sit, lay ect. It's not helping at all for the behavior. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but i don't see it. I broke down and bought a slip leash and prong collar. I tried the slip leash at first. I worked on conditioning him first. Using lots of praise when he would pay attention and not pull on the leash. But when he wanted to do what he wanted to do, or when the simulation around us was even remotely more than my front yard, he would choke himself out trying to get to it. Whether that be a smell or a person or dog walking in the distance. So i moved on to the prong collar. I started with the same steps of conditioning. But it seems like he shuts down. He's a pomsky so he's high energy and i need to be able to walk him to get some of that energy out. But i don't want to be reinforcing the leash pulling and at the same time i don't want to cause him harm by using the prong collar. Mostly emotional harm. I don't want him to fear me or ruin the bond we've built in this short time. I'm really at a loss on what to do. I have so much love for the little guy but his behavior issues are weighing on me heavily. I thought i was doing something great by giving my daughter and wife the puppy they wanted.
Hi just read your comment and wanted to see how you were doing with your puppy? It’s been seven months since this comment and I’m genuinely curious with your situation. It’s okay if things are hard but I’m hoping for the best for you and your family :)
OMG! You spent time with Mission: Wolf!!! My spouse spent a year there, and I have visited twice. A wolf picked me as hers and I now consider Sayra to be my wolf girlfriend :)
I just adopted and brought home a 12 week old puppy. He is insecure, fearful reactive. He was surrounded by dogs that barked and reacted to everything. I've managed to gain his trust through hand feeding and positive reinforcement but he is struggling to trust the other members of my household. I'm using a slip leash and a lot of positive reinforcement where necessary but I'm struggling to know when to correct him for growling at the unknown sounds or people. I'm working through exposure and introduction right now. He is incredibly sweet otherwise. What should I teach him first? Leash pressure and handling? Praise when he does well and doesn't bark? Should I correct him when he barks or growls at the other people? He growls and then gets curious and sniffs then runs away. I've been praising him when he shows curiosity and have been leading him through not being entirely fearful of new things. He is food driven, which is helpful. I'm watching through Tom's videos and learning so much! I'm planning on setting up time with another trainer and doing more socializing as we move forward but so far he doesn't entirely trust me to lead and give direction but wants to guard me and I want him to be confident in my decision making and look to me for decisions.
We are soo needing help with my Son's bulldog they live in England Liverpool and we can't find anyone as yet who can help. My Sons.dog is a bulldog he randomly goes for people's feet and won't let go. Luckily he's never done any damage but the last time he did this he gripped my Son's dad's trainer shoe and my Son's dad lost his balance and fell and broke his wrist. We've been told bull dogs go for feet but we've found no solution to stop this behaviour so my Son can't have him around people so has no social life now. The dog is 2 and a half my Son has had him off his first owners a year or so ago. Can someone please help we are in limbo as what to do. Your work is amazing so I thought I'd ask as we don't know what to do. Have a great day

@@leashdave-ourway , thank you. My Koda is 3 as well. He went to a 2 week board and train when he was 8 months and then I did several one on ones with the trainer and continued with group classes for 6 more months twice a month. He acts terrified on walks and reacts to the sound of dogs barking in houses or yards a block away. He reacts to the sound of strangers voices while out walking. It's crazy. He is the sweetest, most loving boy to everyone in my family, and to me.
My Jack is so loyal to me . He will attack anyone else . I got him from the pound at about 6 months old . We live way out in the country . I do like the fact he is protective , But not to friends and family . He has attacked and bit a stranger comeing into my camp at 3 am . It was at a public camp ground . I'm concerned he is a liability.
I will be forever grateful to you, you changed my whole life and I will continue to preach on your behalf for the whole world to hear you saved me from huge financial debt with just a small investment, thank you Mrs. Erin Geraci
Same here, i will praise Erin Geraci over and over again because she has great skills, i started with $2000 and after 2week i received a returns of $6,000 then i continue with her ever since she has been delivering.
After watching so many UA-cam tutorial videos about trading I was still making losses untill Erin Geraci started managing my investment now, I make $6,800 weekly. God bless Erin Geraci She has been a blessing to my family.
He was giving food/treats Zack doesn’t like any leash pressure or use which can be fine(my poodle doesn’t need much leash pressure) however he doesn’t work with dogs like this. So he can take his time and go baby steps ect. When you have a dog that needs work you have to/need to make adjustments :)

Wow. I really like how you've incorporated the proper use of food & toys, and the discussion of how your training has evolved was helpful too!
Thanks for watching !
I think Tom illustrates three important aspects of dog rehabilitation:
1) Patience
2) Practice
3) Observe dog body language.

Please, can you show examples with smaller dogs for which collars are not recommended and a harness is used instead? Thank you!
Hello! Can you do a video on how much you let your dog use their nose and get to be a dog on a walk vs being a obedient and in heal during a walk?

My life is totally changed because I've been earning $15,250 returns from my $4,000 investment with Erin Geraci
Same here, i will praise Erin Geraci over and over again because she has great skills, i started with $2000 and after 2week i received a returns of $6,000 then i continue with her ever since she has been delivering.
I heard a lot of investing with Erin Geraci and how good she is, please how safe are the profit?
I traded with her, The profit are secured and over a 100% return on investment directly sent to your wallet.
After watching so many UA-cam tutorial videos about trading I was still making losses untill Erin Geraci started managing my investment now, I make $6,800 weekly. God bless Erin Geraci She has been a blessing to my family.

YOU USE A LEASH? NO HOT DOGS??? ZAK GEORGE IS COMING FOR ya.
He was giving food/treats
Zack doesn’t like any leash pressure or use which can be fine(my poodle doesn’t need much leash pressure) however he doesn’t work with dogs like this. So he can take his time and go baby steps ect. When you have a dog that needs work you have to/need to make adjustments :)
That's not how Zak works tho 😂
@@jeno264 nope
😂 Rusty is normally on a prong collar but they are illegal in the state the seminar was in, so Zak would totally hate me 😂
