Nicole doesn’t get enough credit for Big Little Lies, even with those Emmys. Easily one of the best performances in recent TV history. Completely blew everyone out of the water.
I was SO let down by that show. It is sooooooo dull and predictable. I don’t like any of the characters and this is the type of show I normally go for. I loved SATC, love Girls, and pretty much all female oriented shows. I just kept waiting to care about these characters and I never did.
Boobalopbop did you watch only one episode? Maybe you were not in the right mood lol. Sometimes I will watch something I thought I hated but it turns out I was not in the right mood. :)
It's funny, I feel like Nicole has a bit of a reputation for being cold but every time I've seen her interviewed (like here and on Fallon) she's so sweet and almost endearingly awkward. Love her.
She is ALWAYS giggling. So Adorable!! I love the way she handles Letterman. He's such a Douche!!! She just laughs and gives it right back to him. Truly classic!
That's so funny. I've had that impression of her too, but when I saw those awkward interviews with her and Jimmy Fallon it completely changed my opinion of her.
Am I the only one who thought she was funny *because* she was awkward? She was the best kind of awkward guest. Instead of the one awkward one who doesn't talk at all and only replies in one syllable words she was the adorable awkward one.
Honest;y almost all the interviews I've seen her give are somewhat like this. As weird as it is to say, I think she's uncomfortable in front of other people, and definitely uncomfortable talking about herself,. Just my impression.
I know some of you talk about Jennifer Lawrence seeming down to earth in interviews, but I think Nicole Kidman certainly comes off that way and has an elegance to go with it. A classy lady.
Nicole's father had charges against him for abuse, in a satanic rituals, he fled Australia and then he was killed! Look this up, it's like a scary movie but for real I had no idea, this happened!
@@stardustgirl2904 Yes, she grew up in a cult, with a lovely pedophile slant :( . Anyone who can act can seem "down to earth". Personally I find her creepy AF. I love how Stephen is kind of a win for the nerds who liked Lord of the Rings in college and now hes flirting (successfully) with NICOLE KIDMAN. Awesome.
Wonderful interview full of genuine chemistry. When Kidman first came out, it felt like Colbert was subtly flirting, and his admiration was obvious. Then when he whipped out the Latin and Italian, the tables turned, and Kidman's flustered blush was adorable. I love these two, and I love them together.
What a great interview. Colbert is getting great at this. I wonder if he was so excellent tonight because of this particular guest but it doesn’t matter; he’s reached a new level.
"Colbert is getting great at this" You know he's been doing this for a while, right? The Colbert Report? Or do you mean pandering to left wing morons and racist/sexist hypocrites?

RedRock3t82 - Well, that was completely uncalled for when this commenter was just trying to say something appreciative about the interviewee in question. I very much doubt you'd have the courage to spout such ugly words to a complete stranger when meeting them in person.
She is sure the best actress in my opinion. She has the beauty, the talent and the grace! She is so beautiful in the act and outside talking on the stage. Wonderful woman actually and so humble . I love how easy she is on the eye :)
I'm not at all surprised, that the whole set fell in love with her... she's just... awesome! The whole person... is so lovely and beautiful and chill and ..... ... ♥♥♥
She has the worst memory but she can tell all the details about her failed date with Jimmy Fallon ages ago. Nicole... Nicole... you pretty little liar... lol
DearMakeUpDiary Ever think that Bewitched was a bomb she'd prefer to not remember. Every actor has a bomb in their past and if they drop the hint that they don't remember, be smart enough to read between the lines. As far as Cruise is concerned, his over the top belief in Scientology would and has driven the most desirable woman to go nuts. She hasn't done bad for herself after dumping TC. There is life after Cruise.
Agreed, it doesn't surprise me that Bewitched was hardly a memorable experience for her. It was just another pay-check and an outright bomb. It's only mildly interesting as it was one of Will Ferrell's early 'leading man' roles after his breakthrough success with 'Elf'. It was a lesson learned there, as clearly he wasn't cut-out for this kind of Rom-Com kind of Genre - not that it was a straight Rom-Com, but as a leading man in a Comedy with a prominent Romantic sub-plot I presume, requiring his chemistry with Kidman, it's no surprise it didn't work out. Ferrell found his niche sticking to his more comfortable Schtick with all those out there, crazy roles and ensemble and buddy Comedy movies, like the Anchorman series and films co-starring with Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Hart, John C. Reilly, Jon Heder, Zach Galifianakis etc... to mixed quality, but delivering to audience expectations within that space. For Kidman too, she was a little out of her element in that space and having to partner Ferrell - maybe a good idea on paper, but in-practice I guess not so much. Hollywood already was obsessed with remakes and re-hashes, playing on the nostalgia of old childhood favourites then - it's only gotten worse since.
Stephen was low key flirting with her. I've seen him interview a lot of celebrities but this one felt like he was fanboying pretty hard. Last time he flirted this hard was with Andy Serkis.
That's the reason I miss Craig Ferguson's show so much...watching a master at work; all those bombshells on his show openly flirting with him. It can be hard not to hate him for the same reason; I def. have broguish rogue envy. If only....
People are saying this and that about her face and this perpetual smile she has on but like if I were sitting with Stephen Colbert I would have that expression too. Cute interview
j I read somewhere Scientologist write in to insult her and are not allowed to watch any of her movies. I can’t understand why they do because Nicole never knocks Scientology and sticks up for them because her two older children are Scientologists.
Well not all of the crap, but I have to wonder....we all know how Scientology lives to go after people. Now that they can't keep people off the web they are trying to use it, but don't understand it. And everyone sees how obvious they are. Meh.
Was it just me or did I sense some chemistry!?? Nicole is sweet per usual and although she was nervous she carried herself well.Glad you posted the whole clip :)
Really interesting to watch how Stephen has to earn Nicole's trust during the interview. Her initial hesitancy is easy to empathise with given the practical realities of her life. But, the visible shift once won over and the then easy sharing of a genuine if brief connection is really nice. She's an important artist.
It's so funny I know the EXACT scene stephen referenced in Bewitched. You see on camera she literally lights up and you can't help but fall for her and the character, it's incredible.

There's a picture of Nicole in a parking lot with her arms I'm the air and just extatic with happiness. The caption says that was the moment when her divorce from Tom Cruise had been finalized. Everytime I see Nicole I remember that photo and her happiness makes me happy.
It's funny how most of the comments here are about Nicole's appearance and charm (or lack thereof), instead of noting her acting skills, her accomplishments and the fact that she created a role for herself after being dissatisfied with the quality of content she was being offered in Hollywood! She raised a pretty poignant issue, and kudos to her and Reese Witherspoon for going out and creating a niche for themselves and other aspiring women in the acting industry, who don't just want to be treated as a bag of meat to be ogled at! Stephen spoke one sentence in a foreign language, and that's it, it just stole the show. (Don't get me wrong, I love Stephen.) Alas, this double Emmy winning, Oscar winning actor is just going to be reduced to distasteful scrutiny based on her appearance....because she is a woman. :(
You seem to be a little upset over youtube comments Perhaps the internet is not for you. Why is commenting on someone's appearance distasteful? If people were paying her looks a compliment would you have a problem with it? Or is it only the negative opinions you don't like? Or more specifically, negative comments about a woman's looks? She's a big girl, I think she can take it, and doesn't actually care. Also, you don't think male celebrities get the same kind of scrutiny over their appearance? Because they do.
To repeat and clarify : I wish to point out that majority of the people are focusing on her looks, instead paying attention to something fundamental to this interview. In general, women are often judged based on their looks, and not their accomplishments. The point is not about whether this is specifically on the internet, or whether she can take it, or whether people do it to men. My comment is a lament over the general tendency of the society when it comes to perceiving women, (particularly women), especially professionals. This perception has been historically shaped by patriarchy. It is irrelevant whether I have thick skin or whether Kidman has thick skin. I hope this suffices, I feel if further discussion ensues, I will simply be repeating myself. I cannot solve patriarchy with one comment. I rest my case.

i’ve always love her and admire her.. i had a friend who hated her acting an actress too if any of you had one friend like i do shame on them we can always work together being positive with hard work we can make it
Nicole: "I have the worst memory, so..."
Nicole in the Jimmy interview: "See, I have a good memory"
Yours apparently is better
My thought too. Lol.
Probably only when it comes to one of the only times a guy blew her off is when her memory is absolutely perfect 😋
yes, she even remembered the corn crackers😁❤️

She’s so Australia I love her
Patrick Cruze I
Born in the States though
Grew up in australia with her aussie parents.
C Only reason she was born in Hawaii was because her Aussie parents were there working. She was born at that time but then the family returned home to Australia.
i’ve always love her and admire her..
i had a friend who hated her acting an actress too if any of you had one friend like i do shame on them we can always work together being positive with hard work we can make it
