@alison webster Actually, the English pronunciation in the 17th century was more similar to the actual American English than the actual British one... The European pronunciation AFTER the colonization had a huge influence of French (which was a standard of high society in those days), and America did not received that "modernization" because of the distance, so they kept a more antique pronunciation 😉
