Cameron, who is at the NGO Action Society, uses official data and personal experience to detail how leadership at South Africa's police service was hijacked by criminal elements, resulting in a mere 15% conviction rate for murder and 3% for reported rapes. I was hijacked on London road off-ramp outside Alex and was the third car in exactly the same spot in one week yet the police were too “scared” to be present at the site. I don’t believe that for a second and I realised very quickly that the criminals and the police work together here and share in the spoils of their bounty.

This man is out there trying to make this country a better place. For anyone to try dismiss him based on race shows those individuals care more about that than what he's actually doing for the people of this country. We need justice and accountability.
Personally, I'm so terrified of the future of this country that I actually want to leave but the fact that people like him, regardless of race or political affiliation, are out there doing what they can, gives me hope.

Very interesting and good to listen to, but I have realized that we need to pray for Ian. He is prepared to speak the truth, he's brave, may the Lord protect him.
I know of a couple of good SAPS police officers who were assassinated by hitmen while pursuing criminal cases which implicated the so-called untouchable bosses. These bosses work hand in hand with police officers, as when the police arrive at the crime scene the first thing they do is remove all evidence which would further implicate the hitmen and their bosses. It's common practice in KZN, especially in rural areas. The moment they think that you're stepping out of line, you're marked for dead. People are killed by hitmen in broad daylight, sometimes in front of the police, and they literally walk away Scott free. They walk. Not run. They walk away while the police just watch, and once they're gone they officers just come to clean up the scene afterwards. People are literally terrified because they know that if they speak up, they might as well be signing their death warrants.

The Township and its violence must be really terrifying to a white person who has never been in an environment like that; I am black and was raised in the rural areas where there was no violence and crime, where people were civilised and when I first lived in a township I was horrified and scared everyday; I was suddenly in a place where human life is not valued, bullets can fly anytime, you could literally get shot for looking at someone wrong. For Cele to show his ugly face on TV everytime there is a mass shooting or everytime a woman has been found senselessly murdered and not even taking seriously the crisis in our townhips but just enjoying the limelight and the cameras on his face is just infuriating and very sad.. I wish we as Black people could wake up and do something about this government we have put into power because they are not taking us anywhere!!!
I read the book by Thomas Stowell called Black rednecks and white liberals where he was showing how the "redneck" subcultures have never worked well for it's people. The southern whites in the US, the ghetto blacks in the US, the highland Scots, parts of Britain and our townships all have similar destructive tendencies and hurt the people of the communities terribly.
It's horrible that people have to live their lives like that, and that it's perpetuated by the political and the elite. All for their own benefit.
I hope we can all stand together against these people and get past them.

They can "rock up" at any police station, polygraph all members. Failure to pass the polygraph testing, internal investigation /s of the members should occur. We have a police male, living up the road, who is on the payroll of the 28's. It's public knowledge in Beacon Valley. At one stage, he sold alcohol from his house, without a license. Now it seems his selling drugs. Imagine that😮.

You forgot to mention the shoot to kill policy Cele came with, I had just graduated high-school then, even whilst in high-school we were running from killers and police everyday after my afternoon classes, the abuse we endured from so called police in those days changed my perception of cops forever, we were just kids when we witnessed and experienced police brutality
This thing of criminals getting arrested but being let go to roam the streets again, is coming a loooooooooooooooong way already. I was 15 years old and in school in 1994... Two years later (1996) farm murders suddenly became a big thing (at least for me); and we got hit by this 'new' reality in the face, when a farmer was attacked and murdered hardly 20km from us (a well known member of the community). The perpetrators where caught by the community, brought to the police and in 2 days they where "gone", out of the cells, as if they where never even in them!!! This rabbit-hole goes DEEP and has a looooong history... Almost as long what the ANC has been in power... Which is easily 30 years to long now! I am convinced that the EFF (as it is known today), now split from the ANC, but where part and parcel of the ANC at the time (ANC youth league \ ANCs Military wing "uMkhonto we Sizwe"), was and still is involved, without a doubt!
Ian; and anybody else who cares: What happened to ""uMkhonto we Sizwe"" after 1994??? If I had to guess... It is this X-Military wing of the ANC that has morphed into the MAFIA that is effectively pulling the strings of this country TODAY! They have not gone away... Many of them are sitting in Parliament, Sitting in the presidency, holding high positions in almost ALL departments, such as Home affairs, NPA, SAPS, Military, etc. AND working in the shadows!!!. The rest (outcasts), that could not be placed, have split from the ANC, to form the EFF... Economic Freedom Fighters... Does that not sound a bit like "SPEAR"... uMkhonto we Sizwe = Spear of the Nation - It is military by nature... Just as the EFF, or at least that is the impression that one gets from them!

Why else would Julius Malema want to put South Africa on the same trajectory as Zimbabwe, hailing their biggest failure, "Robert Gabriel Mugabe", as his Idol at the time??? The greed of some is getting uncontrollable and mistakes, that are to big to cover up, are being made, world wide, but especially right here.... The International community will also no longer be able to ignore what is beginning to be unraveled... Eventually ALL will be revealed!
