    I've owned the X-T1 for four months now, the X-T10's big brother. I feel the only way to get to know how the camera really operates is to go through _every_single_menu_ and adjust the settings to your liking.
    Speaking of Continuous autofocus, turn Focus Priority on in the AF menu. Then you won't take a picture unless something is in focus. This would probably solve Tony's problem with C-AF giving him out-of-focus pictures.
    I also recommend customizing the Q menu. Hold down the Q button until you get the weird looking menu, then choose what you want displayed.

    • @lberthelon
      @lberthelon 3 роки тому

      l think in the C-AF if turned on and you in C mode it's always hunting to get into focus that will put a drain on the battery, l leave my setting off it will focus when you push the button half way down.

    My X-T10 is my third Fujifilm mirrorless camera. I like it a lot, but in common with the X-T2 and the X-E2 which preceded it, I never fully understood how to use it, even after having had reasonable quality cameras since 1963. All that has changed after watching this video. I am impressed not only with the technical content of the video but by the style of the presentation. This is indeed the more important part of the video: all the technical info I need is in the Fujifilm camera users guide, but is presented in a needlessly complicated way ( and in a font which is trying for me to read, so I gave up trying after about 5 attempts). Compared to that manual, the style here is well paced, articulate and clealy spoken (in such great contrast to most UA-cam videos). It is free of really annoying colloqialisms , typified in so many videos which start with an individual (who should never have been let loose in front of a camera) yelling 'whazzaa' - or words to that effect - at me, in a culturally irritating way, as soon as the video starts. Here, the camera work, the background, the visuals and, above all, the body language (no vigorous arm waving, threatening finger pointing, strange hand gestures etc) are exemplary. Altogether it is a model video - well done.

    Serious gold. I have had this camera for 6 months now, and still get confused. ((Im not patient at reading manuals)
    Fujifilm should pay you for this video, and commission you for other cameras. Its great to be shown as well as have explanations along the way. How can I thank you enough for taking the time. Amazing. Good for you !!! Thank you ;)

    Thanks, Tony. As someone who shoots Nikon almost exclusively, I was a bit out of my element with the X-T10 but this has made it much less intimidating. I'm really enjoying the camera so far. Thanks again for taking the time to make these videos. Keep up the good work.

    Hi!
    I just bought an Xt10 and I love it. My first Fuji was an x10 which I loved but lost. Then I got an x30 which I was never comfortable with, it never felt right, so now I've gone for an Xt10. I've watched your Xt10 video several times and it's brilliant, thank you ever so much.

    Nikon shooter here(D40,D7K, D600, D810). Picked this camera kit up last week on a whim and I have to say it's absolutely brilliant! Pure quality! XF 35 f2 WR is stunning on it.
    Tony thanks for this. I learned a lot about the Fuji system from this tutorial.

    First off, great video! Thanks! One thing I got caught up on was my command dial on the back wasn't controlling my aperture when in Aperture Priority mode. I thought something was off in my settings, but turns out if you have a lens ( in this case I have the 18-55 ) with the aperture ring, the command dial WON'T control the aperture in AP mode. AKA you are using a ring-less lens in the vid so that didn't get covered. FYI. Thanks again for the great video and cheers!

    there is too much information to absorb, so i will have to revisit each section again and again. keep up the good work.

    The xt 10 seems like a good little camera. I think I would take this camera with me way more often to dinner or on a family vacation than my DSLR. I love my DSLRs but this seems more practical.

    I have a D750, new D500, and this camera. I love my DSLRs but this camera is so fun, and when walking about on the street on a scenic coastline, I can make really lovely pictures. It is such a retro feeling and fun piece of gear. And Fujinon lenses are stellar.

    I'm a little late to this party, but thanks for the video. I've had this camera for a few years and found it not intuitive and the manual between useless and wrong. Other videos are just confused. This presentation is so well presented and paced, the perfect tool to help me get the camera out of the bag and using it again. Watching it for the 3rd time. Bought your book and will be doing your course.

      +Tony Northrup Quick question about aperture speed. When I have it set on Auto and use the dial to change aperture mode, the only thing that comes up are the auto settings - portrait, nature, sports, etc. Is this the same thing?

    • @buddah610
      @buddah610 8 років тому

      +Karla Neese I believe that's because you have it in Auto mode. That means the camera will choose each setting it feels is suitable for whatever situation you are shooting. Just a guess😊✌. I Just got one a week ago so....

    I also was at the conference that Karla Neese mentions and received this camera! I'm sorry to say it's been sitting in it's box for 6 months because it looked so intimidating and finding the time to figure it out just never came until recently. I'm now taking a photography class and your video has helped me tremendously as the instructor is telling us parts of the camera by using Sony, Nikon and Canon cameras. Does exposure compensation only work in auto + AP mode? I am trying it in manual and it does nothing.

    • @jeffhampton7405
      @jeffhampton7405 7 років тому

      Gabe Sanchez Exposure compensation is used to adjust the auto exposure up and down if you aren't happy with the camera's metering. When you're in manual mode, you're the one setting the exposure, so there's no need for exposure comp. You would just adjust the aperture, shutter speed, or ISO to whatever value you want.

    Shooting RAW is fine but unless you have Light Room 6 it's a non, no. There is no update for Light Room 5 for this camera!!! You can however down load (for free) the Fuji Fine Pix Studio and then download the RAW Converter to utilize the RAW files - had it for a few weeks and love the Jpeg's. Still use my Canon 5D 3 for more important shots but carrying the X-T10 instead of all my heavy stuff is becoming more and more usual these days - (age you know. Once again a great video and many thanks:)

It's missing one thing a touchscreen, but in this case I believe it can be overlooked in this instance.

    Concerning 28:56 (ua-cam.com/video/TI-QwmRrMus/v-deo.html:)
    As I mentioned in a comment to another of your X-T10 videos already, if you wanna set the shutter speed quickly via the front command dial, turn the shutter speed dial at the top of the camera to the "T" position. Now you can flip through all the available shutter speeds using the front command dial. If you have Electronic + Manual Shutter activated, that's from 1/32.000 all the way up to 30''...
