Cool bro! Let me know how you like it. If your just bashing and want the most of power to ground you can run low grip setting , if you have a stock motor with balls you can run 2 Low and 2 medium and if you run Modified motor like a bad ass Big BIG BLOCK like a 28/8 .30 or .32 on a bigger RC like a Truggy you must run High Grip because high grip has the least amount of tension/stall ! A Modified will go threw those clutches in no time and damage bell. If your racing not bashing high grip is awesome even 2 medium and 2 high depending on how loose the track is. My cousin Freddy runs the Quattro on his Hot Boddies Only for racing. He never ever bashed it never even seen his street or driveway lol! Track only ! He lives 1 1/2 hrs from me next to the race track upstate N.Y. So he’s constantly there and that’s what he addicted to! One day I will have to film him but he is camera shy!
Good stuff,. I've had good use from that clutch on my WRX. Re: vented bells, I havehad worse luck letting stuff in on vented bells than letting heat out, but like you said it's here nor there. If I get a good deal on them I'll rock them.
Since the clutch is a bit longer than standard and requires the slightly taller bell gear wouldnt there be fitment issues when installing the engine into the car? I.E. wouldnt you be moving the gear clutch bell forward by those few mm causing it to not mesh correctly with your spur?
yeah they are some great clutches I have one in my team associated and I have another one coming in for my TLR truggy that I put my new LRP .32 spec 4 engine in that is coming with a 17 tooth clutch bell reds of course but that is a mighty fine vid. so keep it up.. nitro gas forever rc fun
Wish I would have seen this video before I ordered my Quattro to know that I needed the Reds bell to fit the clutch. A-Main didn’t specify whether or not I needed the bell. Oh well, it’s wintertime where I’m at so I can’t even drive my MP9 anyway.
luk3 I can confirm that a standard Kyosho clutchbell (or Protek clutchbell, for that matter) will NOT work with the Reds clutch. The Reds clutch is too deep and will require use of the Reds clutchbell in Kyosho cars.
Md2 47life It will kinda depend on how powerful your engine, pipe, and gearing but, as a rule of thumb 11T, 12T, 13T should work on low bottom end torque, better on smaller race tracks with short straightaways. 14T, 15T, ect will give you more top end speed. I find the 14T is the best of both worlds in the B3. If I wanted more torque I would probably go with the 13T. I would say 13T if you want more bottom end and you'll still have a little top end speed.

did you find out if a kyosho standard bell works with this clutch?
