    Went down to a local car mechanic and they wanted $150 to recharge my AC. At that point it just wasn't worth it to me. So I went down to Auto Zone and picked up a can of AC Pro for $44.99. Now my AC works great and it was super easy to do. Thanks AC Pro!!!

    I went and bought a can of A/C Pro with gauge. I've never charged a cars a/c before. My brother charged my 2000 Ford Taurus last year and it worked. I decided to do some research and try it myself. When Temps went up for the first time in Vegas this year, I turned the A/C on and it was blowing hot air. After watching a few videos on UA-cam, I attempted it by myself. Product worked exactly like it was presented. And I did it with the hood resting on my shoulder because my hood lift supports finally died. Just follow instructions. I would buy product again.

    Worked well on my 2003 Dodge Ram and saved me money close to a $1,000 because several mechanics were telling me I may have had a broken blend door. Nope, followed advice from another web sight and bought a can of AC Pro. Followed the directions and after about ten minutes I had cold AC. So far, the cold AC has held for weeks. Great easy product.

    This is a good instructional video. I've seen people try to use the wrong port and get frustrated. However, they should mention if you have to add freon again it's because there's still a leak (that's why you needed freon in the first place) and you should weigh the costs of continuing to add freon or get the leak repaired. If you know you're not keeping the car for more than a few years and it only costs you one can a year it's probably not worth getting the system repaired.

    • @DucatiPaso750
      @DucatiPaso750 2 роки тому +1

      Not to mention that if there is a freon leak, it is also leaking compressor oil. You have to fix the leak. Otherwise you're not doing it right.

    I read, and followed the printed and video instructions. My 2004 Nissan Armada was reading 12 PSI and blowing cool air (not cold). I filled the system to 47 PSI (3/4 of the bottle). It now works as well as the day I bought the new vehicle. Thanks, Cheers

    This was beyond easy! I'm not familiar with anything that exists under the hood of a car. I tried this on a 2001 Nissan Sentra. The High and Low pressure ports are super easy to find. I followed exact instructions, turned on AC to full, removed the plastic protection part, screwed the valve back in, shook the well for at least half a minute, hooked up the hose to the low pressure port - heard the click - made sure it's securely hooked up and the arrow was way over to the left on the white area.
    I couldn't see if the compressor was running on this car - very difficult to see. So, I press the trigger for a few seconds while moving the canister from 12 to the 3 o'clock position every second or faster - and lo and behold - the compressor started running just after a couple of seconds! I could feel and hear the new noise. Hallelujah, the compressor was running!
    So, I had set the valve's gauge to an ambient temp of about 75 deg, and after pushing the trigger for about 10-15 seconds each time, the needle finally ended up in the middle of the red triangle area.
    The temp in the past 5 days, with 90+ weather outside, is consistently blowing at 40 to 43 deg at the vents, and the ambient temp inside the car is about 60 - 65 deg :) I couldn't be happier with this product!
    If the refrigerant ends up leaking after a few months, I'll definitely try their sealer product, before using the remaining ACPRO --- I can feel about half of the quantity is left in the can!
    Great product, highly recommended, *unless* you have compression issues and adding refrigerant will likely not solve the problem.
    Good luck!

    Wife's car AC has been blowing warm air for a couple of years, but we did not want to expense a garage bill to fix. While doing a brake job on my car, I noticed that NAPA had AC Pro on sell for $35,. So I took the chance purchase that low AC gas was the issue after seeing good reviews on line and the video for this product.
    The only thing extra that I had to do, was disconnect her car's battery for five minutes as to do a force reset of her car's computer. Because it 'remembered' that her AC compressor should be turned off (saw as a tip on one of the car fix forums). Upon rest, the factory default computer settings allowed the compressor to turn on, per the computer's 'memory' from the factory.
    Her AC blows cold now! Wife is very happy with me for fixing this. (At least for the time being, lol).

    I have a 2008 Nissan Altima S. My air was blowing cool but down here in the South slightly cool isn't good enough in the summer. Dealership quoted me at 150 to recharge. Decided to try this AC Pro, and if all fails I'm only out of $40. Did the recharge exactly by the directions, and my air is pumping colder than before it got warm, and saved $ in the process.

    After I figured out that my 98 ford contour was "hopeless" when it came to fixing the AC, I researched the problem myself. As soon as I turned the AC on MAX nice HOT air blew in the car. Yuck. If I kept it on low cool, a tiny breeze of cool air came through, but if I touched that fan setting, it was all downhill from there. That is when I finally figured out that it had to be a fuse able link. I went for the WIDE OPEN THROTTLE CONTROL, located under the hood, and wow, no more hot air! It needed a charge, and is colder now, but I paid $25 for some idiot to hold the button down while car ran on MAX AC. The lower port which was supposed to be used to install the refrigerant was right on top, near the radiator so when I called Advanced Auto to ask if it was true and can port would only fit on the proper intake, I WAS PLEASED TO KNOW THE GUY DID IT RIGHT, BUT MAD THAT I CALLED AFTER PAYING $25 BUCKS! Oh well, live and learn. I hope this info will help someone else!

    Make sure to check what type of refrigerant your car uses. I made the mistake of assuming "R-134a" was the current type but it is not, "R-1234YF" is the current type (for newer cars) and the installation connectors are different. I found out after trying to connect my older AC Pro to my newer Hyundai and it didn't fit/connect. Auto parts stores carry mostly the R-134a refrigerants and tools so it's easy to get the wrong one. Check your car's label first! BTW - no surprise, the R-1234YF refrigerant and tool costs about 2x as much as the R-134a version.

The tube that is in the hose where the can screws on is not long enough to press open the seal in the top of the can. I thought I had a bad hose, bought another hose kit and it acts the same way. The can has pressure because you ise a small screwdriver to push on the seal and it has lots of pressure. Do not waste your money on this hose kit.

      You bypass low pressure switch if your compressor clutch is not engaging. There could be many reasons why it’s not engaging and one of them is if the refrigerant is low or the clutch relay is bad. Worse is if the whole clutch is not working properly then you have a bigger issue.

You can see what the mark looks like on this page, which has more information. acprocold.com/self-sealing-valve/
      Did the can you buy have the mark on the label? We've also updated our in-store signage, found at many retailers, to notify consumers of the change.

  • @QBAN2010

    Does the compressor not running red zone reading mean that the compressor is broken and not working, or does it mean it will kick on when some Freon gets into the system? I just tried to recharge and with 5 seconds, my needle was in the red....

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  7 років тому +2

      Qban - if within 5 seconds of charging the gauge flipped into the red, you probably didn't need refrigerant in your system to begin with. In most properly functioning systems, the gauge should not read in the red. The compressor kicking on should also not push the system in the red.

    Ok so when I connect to my car it stay reading at 0 do I just add AC Pro at that point?

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  8 років тому +5

      If the gauge reads at 0 with the compressor on and the trigger not being pulled, you are low on refrigerant. If that's the case, you just pull the trigger to add refrigerant.

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  6 років тому

      Where you able to get it on there? The low side port and our coupler are both standard so you should have no issues pushing it on. You shouldn't need to, but sometimes it helps to pull back on the collar around the coupler when pushing it on.

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  2 роки тому

      There are a few potential causes of this: 1) you are trying to connect to the high side port instead of the low side port. The high and low side ports are standard for all vehicles with the same refrigerant type so if you're on the right port our coupler will fit. 2) you have a vehicle that uses a different refrigerant than the product you have. If you have a product containing R-134a and your system uses R-1234yf, the coupler won't fit since these systems have different size ports.

    How can I tell if the can is empty. Before charging the gage showed low, the gage did go up, but not into the green. Should 1 can take it from very low to the green? Do I use 2 cans?

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  3 роки тому +1

      The can will feel empty in your hand when you've dispensed all the contents. You may have some residual gas and oils left in there so when you shake it it might feel like some is left, but it won't come out of the can. The amount you need will really depend on your system size. The average system is about 22-24 oz, but your car may be different. You can look up the system capacity using our A/C spec data base on this page. www.acprocold.com/ask-the-pro/port-locator/

      We removed the temp dial some years ago because it was causing confusion. Charge until you're in the green and then check the temp from the vents. If it's blowing out cold air you're good.

    Can this refrigerant be evacuated without causing harm to my machine? Considering the sealant in it

    • @Acprocold
      @Acprocold  3 роки тому

      JD - yes, one of the common misperceptions many technicians have is that the sealant in these products is thick like tar and it will gum up the system and their recovery equipment. Completely not true. The sealant we have in here will be separated out with the PAG oil in your machine. Even our Super Seal products, which have a metal leak sealing silane in them won't clog your system. You can see that sealant in this video. ua-cam.com/video/O5zi0YQtyZg/v-deo.html
