Listen to this....always had all my games on disc. Already installed on the Xbox series x. Then these games are on game pass and I play them. Soul Caliber Tomb Raider and Rise of Tomb raider. But since they've been removed from game pass they will not work any more. Tells me I need the disc and don't have licenses to play. Checked discs in my buddies series x and they work fine.Tried Uninstall and resetting console. Now won't even read disc's. It's only games that were on game pass that are affected. I've got 24 games on disc and they all work fine as checked them straight away. I'm beyond pissed off as this is the reason I got a series x as my Xbox 1 would randomly pick and choose what games it would read and load up. It's a software problem on their end for sure connected to game licenses. That's what the noise is, the console checking the disc. Definitely buying a PS5. There are threads going all the way back to 2020 on the support forum and all they say is factory reset console. We need to get some idea of how many people are experiencing the same issue....
Just so you know, there are issues with licenses on PS5 too. If you get a free game or download one on PS Plus, you can't play a newer version without contacting support. FF7 Intergrade and Street Fighter 5 Champion Edition are recent examples. They both work for me now, but it's a constant issue on Playstation. Not quite the same as not being able to play your own fucking discs, which worked perfectly 2 months ago, in my case, but both systems have stupid problems that shouldn't be an issue in the first place.

Tried the disc in my old Xbox, it’s in a bad state 😅, loaded up fine first time, I’m Going to have to buy the games digital which is a joke paying twice, there not even that good games and more expensive on the store. I’m curious did you ever get this sorted? In contact with Microsof, but not hopeful if they had a fix it would be done by now. It’s only one game that doesn’t work, but I don’t have many discs so it’s probably more.

@@pisstakecentralmy only evidence is my experience. Check all your physical games after a system update, after a few hours/days of play it will stop working with a fake error, even a brand new disk. I have noticed this for the past 3yrs. Avoid physical games at all cost
Mine does this too. Coincidentally, after my warranty ended. Funny. Played every game no problem. All of a sudden, I go to install CyberPunk…nothing. It reads the disc but nothing pops up. It won’t install, it won’t play. Won’t even acknowledge there is a disc. This was my first Xbox since the 360 and will definitely be my last.
Mine does the same thing, I have to use my One S for all my physical games. This is more than likely my last generation. Anything 9th gen and under I’m just sticking too.
That sucks, I’d hate to be someone who experiences that with multiple Xbox or PlayStation consoles. And from the sounds made when trying to read certain games and Dark Souls Remastered not being detected by the Xbox, I think your disc drive has a faulty laser.
Guys I found the problem you have to take apart the series x unscrew everything until you take out the disc drive take that apart and take out the sensor part and clean it with alcohol and Q-tips my Xbox series x was having the same problem but my Xbox would not read any games at all

about half my games dont run and the other half loads instantly. cleaned the laser still nothing non working games Red Dead 1 Farcry Blood Dragon Orange Box Deadrising Xbox one version fractured but whole only one game I would have problems where it DID read it half the time and if i eject and re insert i would get nothing
They are going to sort the disc drive issue, with none at all according to the latest leak, with that ugly trash can looking refresh model for the series x next year.
@@leeparker5822 I cleaned my disc and now there all working properly with the series x I think the disc lasers are so sensitive that if you have just a single smudge of fingerprint or dust it won’t load the game disc
@@leeparker5822I have this issue only with mw2 tho it plays sometimes then other times it doesn’t show up and says put disc in I’ve cleaned it I’ve re installed it twice same problem i think it’s those cross gen discs my ps5 plays games fine another problem i had with the Xbox some times it says connect to Xbox network some times once out of energy saving mode and it takes a while to connect never happens with any other console
@trynasmash I fixed mine with a $20 part from ebay. To get it fixed at a company, Microsoft wants $299 and a local company wanted $199. I found a place for $100 but that's the very lowest.
@trynasmash cleaning it does nothing for me, but you can try it. I removed my old one and cleaned the lens, but no luck. I had to buy a new disc drive for $20. But there's a big annoying step you gotta do first. You can't just pop the new piece in your xbox. You have to remove the circuit board from the old drive and put it in the new disc drive and THEN it put it in the xbox. Also make sure you get the right model of disc drive. They sell a lot for the xbox ones but you need the xbox series x (if that's what xbox you have). They look exactly the same so I bought the wrong models a few times and it wouldn't work until I realized the issue.

I Have the same problem with MW2 and Mw3 Disc Version :D ... It only works with luck if I try to start the disc 20-30 times!

Dark souls 3 fire fades edition isn't working on my Xbox series x not a single scratch.

Turn the console horizontal and it will read the disc better just did that and worked instantly

Mine went the same way stopped playing 360 games first then xbox one/series x.
So You have to clear Persistent storage and then Power Option > Select Energy Saving. So Restart. Simple.

What I did was have the disc in holded the Xbox button till it turns off wait 50 seconds then turn it back on and the game installs lol
