If we was going it ourself. I’m a tad confused. Sorry for my ignorance. But why did you have to change the board out ? Why didn’t the new drive itself just work? I don’t think I have the skills to do all that but swapping a drive and plugging in I think I can do (currently experiencing my Xbox series X not reading disc)
The motherboard is paired up with the console motherboard during manufacturing

I just used manual eject hole to remove disc
Mine is doing the same thing, disc drive makes almost no noise when i inseet a disc. I'll hear it make a noise after a few seconds like it acknowledges theres a disc but thats it

Can you fix it? Of course you can. I'm convinced you can fix anything at this point.
They are getting harder and rarer to source those Blu Ray drives now, as everything moves to all Digital so I have heard.
The people who make them are declining a lot in China, it's also tied to licence fees and demand.
There's an all Digital Series X out at the moment, been leaked, it's White, probably have 2TB SSD at a minimum.
Disc trays have more longevity,shame really

So my Xbox won't accept certain discs like the brand new sponge bob game I bought for my son. Installed it played it a few times now that disc won't read but mortal Kombat 1 reads ect
