Come on Bokke and for the love of God, don't make this a three point game.
From my point of view, for manie libbok shouldve started, last saturday, and the time of rugby manie brings accomodate what the boks wanted to do, and then pollard from the bench to complete the game plan is what is needed, and we cant blame manie for that kick because it should have never come to that point because a lack of consentration allow the pumas to come back firing and put us under pressure, so i absolutely agree with that selection, of mani starting and pollard later of the bench.

I am 1 minute into this video and I can see how much Rassie wants Libbok to get more experience and build his confidence after he was slated online and in the press in South Africa. Rassie is doing what he does best, giving everyone the middle finger and saying I trust Manie to come good for the Boks. Good on Rassie and my best wishes to Libbok. I wish he has an incredible game... a no-look kick at posts 🤣
Your comments, as always, are right on the button. For me the weak link is Fassi......where was he when the Pumas ran in those three tries?.......probably lurking around close to the breakdowns hoping for a glory try of his own. He is good in the air but, for me, he tries to be flashy and if he doesn't die with the ball throws hail Marys' or gets isolated and gives away a turnover, or penalty. Willie, on the other hand, makes try after try and reads the game much better, he should be starting in my opinion. I'll be glad when Willemsa is back. Thanks for your programme, one of the best!
When all of that happened, the springboks were one man down. In most cases, they (back line) had to commit in overlap situations. Wiellie is well placed in the position he is in now.
@@theriddler5601 I wish you were right, but my experience tells me otherwise. I have had people blatantly lie about the importance of the opening RWC against Scotland, something Rassie spoke about in the first episode of Chasing the Sun, just so they did not have to give him the credit for getting us to the knock out stages. Would not have won the RWC if he had not got us to the QF and yet Bok fans still won't give him credit. All you hear about is how he "lacks BMT" They are on this page blaming him for the loss on Saturday, while staying tjoepstil about the missed tackles that lead to the Argies tries. He failed to kick 3, he did not cost us 26, but he is still the scapegoat. It's just sick.
Without disrespecting the pumas, and I would like to think I've been right about 98% of the time, think the boks are going to destroy Argentina, and Mannie libbok will get man of the match, Rassie knows the players and what they can do.
@@germangarciacouto8489 they are an awesome team, and really just getting better every time they play, no longer a team you just beat. They have the scalps of Australia, new zealand, south Africa and France, haha want them to play Ireland and put those leprechauns in there place lol
Awesome to see Rassie backing, Manie. As a player, you want to know that your coach believes in you. He will go to war with you. The players absolutely believe in Rassie and the rest of the management.
This is what separates Rassie from any other coach. Most would've dropped Manie many many games ago. Rassie is still giving Manie a chance because he sees something there. This is what brings out the best in humans. What will make them put their lives on the line for him. Manie can still come out of this and become the best in the world! He definitely has the talent.
Rassie has the comfort of having by far the most strength in depth than any side on the planet so he can afford to rotate. I could select and coach the boks side for this weekends game and they'd still probably win.
You have to ask yourself, is he backing Manie? or is he starting him because we need a clutch kicker (pollard) on the bench to close the game + our other flyhalf (sacha) is injured.
@@Keen-y4vwe're not trolls! We're South Africans who love our rugby! We have the right after the disaster last week to view our concerns about Manie. No BMT! We lost the game last week in case you forgot. Let's see what Manie comes up with this Saturday!
Tim dropping the video on school pick up time! Rassie doing Rassie things. People seem to forget that French quarter final. Manie was great. He is a good 10. Yes kicking needs work like lots. 😊
We need a consistent flyhalf. Manie kicks at 63%. That’s not good enough. Few countries ever play without a kicker. Butch James wasn’t required to kick because Percy Montgomery was the kicker. Fassi is another issue. Le Roux should be back in. Fassi blows hot and cold and still defends the outside channels like a winger, not a fullback. That gives our cover defence no chance. Otherwise our strongest team. Sterkte.
@@DreamBirchI guess Rassie has a much more different view from yours, based on the current team selection. Maybe you should remove the scales from your eyes.
Great analysis of the team and the SA cuisine. I'm a little surprised that you didn't delve in permutations for the cup. I've seen posts from people thinking that Pumas must win by a large margin, not realising that they only need to win and deny SA any bonus point. Thanks for a great show.
The Boks and Pumas will be having their own braaai day after this one, irrespective of outcome. Respect to Rassie and his selection/decision on team. There was no Sad Sack whinging from either him or the team after the loss last week.We look forward to a whopper in Nelspruit 💪🏽🇿🇦💪🏻 Hope you managed a steak today Tim?
Last week was about building depth. This week is about the win. Very comfortable with Manie at 10 to start. He is paired with hendriks as the next gen players. Am will come on at 13 and give Jessie a rest. Boks by 20
@@nevillepieterse9983He doesn’t deserve to play, even before that Argentina game. He’s not good enough to wear the Springbok 10 jersey, he’s only starting because Sacha is injured, and Rassie knows he needs Handre in case the game is close, because he can’t trust Manie to win us game.
Including Sascha FM, whom I greatly admire for SA's future (he can play various positions, it's not a given that he MUST be 10), Manie Libbok, without a doubt, is SA's *best* game-breaking flyhalf, he's still inside the age limit for 2027, and he has vision bar none - especially with the 'Tony Brown' inspired new back-line focused balanced attacking play, Manie fits like a glove. Remember how many great flyhalves played for South Africa, while Percy Montgomery was the clutch-kicker (excellent) for years, while these flyhalves could just focus on their game ? Now here is something we *do* need urgently : We need a young (< 26) new inside centre coming into the mix, now, groomed for nr 12 - Damian can't play every game (Ethan Hooker ?).
Think you're on the money Tim in regards to Manie. This will be a hugely pressure game for the Argies and they must know the power game is coming coupled with giving the ball air if opertunity presents itself.
I appreciate the loyalty Rassie shows. Manie is a playmaker of note. Don't judge him by his goalkicking only. You can learn to kick but brilliance is in the DNA
@Kransduif if you really thinkt hat a number 10s main role is goal kicking, you've got a problem. There are teams with incredible number 10s that dont kick for goal. Wales used to get leigh halfpenny to goal kick, he's a 15. Same as france with tomos ramos
@@AbeHopwood but if you are the only kicker, what manie is, your job is to kick the points. Rassie should play manie with somebody else taking the kicking duties. It doesnt help you play the guy every week and give him the kicking duties, it is not good for his confedence cause he cant kick.
Henrikse, at his best, is a genuine superstar. Hopefully he can find his best form again. Also, crucially, both Jaden and Kolbe were practising kicking at poles.
Nelspruit is going to be 🔥 More concerned about the Boks current (non-existent) gameplan, than Libbok. They have looked a bit clueless with a good 15 minute scramble at the end (bomb squad?). Where is the slick backline, the dominant forwards?
Scrum half is one of the hardest roles to fill in bok rugby. Look at the legends who filled those boots. It's the one spot that always remains fillable.
@anderbotha......I'm glad Rassie not giving into you trolls 😂....Manie will be 1st choice comes next WC....than you can have your rugby back....in the meantime....happy trolling 😂
Good show . This centre partnership will win the territory more effectively. They went straight at contact against the ABs,,it left space outside . I thought pollard and Am drifted. Can't wait.
Sorry guys....I get the reasons about Manie's superb open play game, I get that, but he can't kick at test levels when they should count. I still cannot swallow our defeat to Ireland in the RWC23. There is no way we would've lost that game if Manie was able to slot his kicks, he missed several that day and we out played Ireland and still lost..He started in that game and missed points in the first half. So I get Rassie deciding to rather start him and let Handre finish, but points not converted in the first half is just as bad.
If Manie had done what Pollard did in the first half and Pollard did what Manie did in the second, we would not be blaming Pollard for missing the kick that could have won us the game, we would be blaming Manie for missing two tackles that directly lead to the first Argie two tries. He is damned if he does and he is damned if he doesn't, while Pollard can play like a complete idiot and no one gives a damn. Not really fair, is it? But on the RWC.... Manie missed the kicks during the course of the game. We had a lineout right in the corner late in the second half (second last attacking lineout) where Deon Fourie gave away the advantage by throwing the ball in skew and giving Ireland the scrum. Isn't that then Deon's fault for not rectifying Manie's mistakes?
Tim, as you saw a Craven Week, we have a conveyer belt of players so we’ll get another Faf coming through. Faf is only injured, not retired. If we play a tighter game, more like bok rugby, as opposed to “Tonyball” (You would have heard that term from Zels when you were with Keo and Zels.) Surprised Le Roux is not back. Fassi defends the outside channels like a wing giving our cover no chance. He has to learn to defend them like a fullback. Le Roux is a playmaker and keeps the back three operating as a unit.
I'm not surprised to see Manie - if anything, I think the Manie start, Polly on the bench combo is the best. I am, however, surprised to see three centres but no Willie.
We don't have a backup flyhalf, Willemse injured, Sascha injured. No point in choosing someone that has not been there. Rassie as a coach did the right thing by choosing Manie again. The match against Argentina was a chance to rest certain players and allow other players to step up. I believe Rassie is building on having 2 teams. He will have a blend of new players and older players. I think he saw what he needed to see in the game of Agentina. Some players still need some work on their game or needs to be replaced. I think Rassie also looks at the teams General well being. If he had to drop Manie it would send a bad message to the team. Instead he is telling Manie go and make right.
ML starting makes perfect sense, Sasha injured and the Boks have played very quick and coast to coast in the first 40 which suits ML, then second 40 bring bomb squad and Pollard on to close off the game.
Lekker Tim du Plessis! you must be sick of hear people say, they cannot wait for your videos to air, but I can confirm it is true, I cannot wait till there is a new video, and sometimes when there is none, we get worried about you Tim, you are definitely a South African now :)
Tim… Have you noticed how the players (Rassie included as a former player) have t-shirts that read ‘Springbok’ whilst other shirts say ‘Springboks’… have I imagined that? If not what a cool way to show respect for those who get to actually wear the mighty Green and Gold!
Tim, Rassie will grow and develop Libbok into the player he wants him to be. It's still early days, he will a well developed player at the next world cup
I called this one. I’ve heard that these teams are pencilled in long before. I think Libbok was already set to play this game at 10 before last week. And with SFM out, we need Manie around

Perhaps only Willie instead of Am but I can also understand why they decided otherwise.
Considering the Pumas form theres about a 90% chance they get completely smashed.
Libbock having to make the decisive kick wasn't his fault, everyone knows he can't kick off a tee well. It was SA own fault for being in the position to need that.
Los Pumas love to be underestimated. 👌
@@germangarciacouto8489This Saturday is going to be different. You're not being underestimated but things WILL BE DIFFERENT JUST WATCH!!
@germangarciacouto8489 no one is underestimating you. We know damn well that you guys are not winning twice 😂 you could not do it for NZ and Aus and you will NEVER do it with us
Indeed SA's on fault... For selecting him in the first place.
You are absolutely correct, Tim. He realises he should have started Manie last week, and he's acknowledging that he made a mistake. He is not selecting him now out of pity.
freakin love that manie is starting! its up to him now! make or break!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well done rassie!!!!!
Ahoy Tim! I just got the fire on! You should do the same 😅
Yeah, I get the feeling he is backing Libbok in the face of the criticism. Please God, let the game not go close, because Libbok has cost us a huge lot already. I don't want that to include the TV if I throw a shoe at it!
Rest of the team is sound and oh man does it feel good to see PSDT on the team sheet again.
I don't think not being selected is a mark against anyone's name, Rassie would have told the fellas that he is doing a rotation.
How's that for saying to his players - I was there I have your back. I say Backing Libok is a show of leadership/ Loyalty.
Go Manie!! Thank you Tim!!
You are simply AMAZING!!! For remembering Heritage Day 🌈🇿🇦
Geez! Tim, shisenyama!! You are such a genuine human being. Super special man 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you for great content.. always!
Can’t wait for Saturday 😊
Go Bokke!! 💫🏆♥️🇿🇦
Must say I have enjoyed watching Argentina 🇦🇷
They play with such heart and moments of real flair.
Here’s to a great game and can’t wait to hear from you Tim! 🎉
U are awesome Tim, come home to South African, you and your family
Totally agree with you,Fassi cant tackle and has always been a problem
le roux can't tackle either
@@JimTannock Pollard also missed 2 crucial tackles that both cost the springboks a try
Manie Libbok, you still a legend and I have all the faith in this world that Manie Libbok is going to suprise alot of people this weekend
Saddest thing of all is even if he does, he will get no credit for it.
Hope you are right!!
@@Karma-qt4jiWhen something of such is such a big talking point then he will get lots of credit that’s for sure!
All you hear about is how he "lacks BMT"
They are on this page blaming him for the loss on Saturday, while staying tjoepstil about the missed tackles that lead to the Argies tries. He failed to kick 3, he did not cost us 26, but he is still the scapegoat. It's just sick.
Manie needs to own every minute he has on this next game. He needs to!
We are avenging the France QF score, we'd better get the closest available team to that team.
Manie is in, peace is restored. Let's play Bok ball.💚💛
Without disrespecting the pumas, and I would like to think I've been right about 98% of the time, think the boks are going to destroy Argentina, and Mannie libbok will get man of the match, Rassie knows the players and what they can do.
Los Pumas love to be underestimated.👌
@@germangarciacouto8489 they are an awesome team, and really just getting better every time they play, no longer a team you just beat. They have the scalps of Australia, new zealand, south Africa and France, haha want them to play Ireland and put those leprechauns in there place lol
Excellent podcast, good job Tim !!
Awesome to see Rassie backing, Manie. As a player, you want to know that your coach believes in you. He will go to war with you. The players absolutely believe in Rassie and the rest of the management.
Manie should’ve started last weekend so that you have Polly on the field to win the game by a kick if necessary, like the quarterfinal against France.
@@PB22559You obviously don't understand anything about rugby in SA the last 15 years
I called it a few days ago on Keo & Zels: start Manie! So glad Rassie did
Better for manie to start. Great team with all our injuries.
Agrees about scrum-halves.
we need tries...Manie is our man. He is a man to get the backline moving
100%
Absolutely bro....so glad Rassie is not giving into the trolls 😊
Libboks the shit
@@Keen-y4vwe're not trolls! We're South Africans who love our rugby! We have the right after the disaster last week to view our concerns about Manie. No BMT! We lost the game last week in case you forgot. Let's see what Manie comes up with this Saturday!
So true. With Siya . If boks get a kick able penalty in the first 5 mins, what will he chose? For the team>corner...for the man> points?
@@DreamBirchle roux can't tackle either
Would have loved if they dropped Manie for Jordan Hendrikse from the sharks
😂
Great analysis of the team and the SA cuisine.
I'm a little surprised that you didn't delve in permutations for the cup.
I've seen posts from people thinking that Pumas must win by a large margin, not realising that they only need to win and deny SA any bonus point.
Thanks for a great show.
There will be a new scrumhalf by the next World Cup.Could be Nohumba
The Boks and Pumas will be having their own braaai day after this one, irrespective of outcome. Respect to Rassie and his selection/decision on team. There was no Sad Sack whinging from either him or the team after the loss last week.We look forward to a whopper in Nelspruit 💪🏽🇿🇦💪🏻
Hope you managed a steak today Tim?
Last week was about building depth. This week is about the win. Very comfortable with Manie at 10 to start. He is paired with hendriks as the next gen players. Am will come on at 13 and give Jessie a rest. Boks by 20
Thank you Rassie for backing Mannie Libbok. Thank you.
Good one Rassie, the internet was going crazy with people saying they never want to see Libbok in a springbok jersey again…lol
Great decision !!
@@nevillepieterse9983 Probably because he doesn't deserve to ever wear the jersey again. No BMT. Manie is a choker.
yeah! shame man, feel so bad for Manie
I agree. Thank you Rassie.
Agree. Henry "Lem" Honeyball could not hit a barn door from 3 paces lol. Butch was okay, but only okay and only within 35 odd metres at sea level.
I picked this starting 15 on X. We can win with unconverted tries with Manie. Our best playmaker 10 is Manie. Sascha will get there over tme
Braai day for sure! 🎉
Think you're on the money Tim in regards to Manie. This will be a hugely pressure game for the Argies and they must know the power game is coming coupled with giving the ball air if opertunity presents itself.
And they better not sleep on Manie or they will stand behind their poles
The pressure is on the Boks, Argentina has nothing to lose, the objective has already been achieved, whatever comes as a gift is appreciated.
I'm so glad Manie is in the team...they have a plan... Handre will be brought on if needed in 20 minutes...
I appreciate the loyalty Rassie shows. Manie is a playmaker of note. Don't judge him by his goalkicking only. You can learn to kick but brilliance is in the DNA
@@ernieseegers4747but his nr 1 job is goal kicking. And to kick for touch.
@Kransduif if you really thinkt hat a number 10s main role is goal kicking, you've got a problem. There are teams with incredible number 10s that dont kick for goal. Wales used to get leigh halfpenny to goal kick, he's a 15. Same as france with tomos ramos
@@Kransduif......you trolling 😊.....than let's get Naas Botha.....you troll😂
@@AbeHopwood but if you are the only kicker, what manie is, your job is to kick the points. Rassie should play manie with somebody else taking the kicking duties. It doesnt help you play the guy every week and give him the kicking duties, it is not good for his confedence cause he cant kick.
You’ll be able to see the braai smoke from space!
Agree, scrums and lineouts like twickenham
Henrikse, at his best, is a genuine superstar. Hopefully he can find his best form again.
Also, crucially, both Jaden and Kolbe were practising kicking at poles.
Love your analysis ❤
You always spot on mate love listening to you
Thanks Tim. I think with the ever changing playing style, the scrummies are yet to adapt.
Tim, Rassie will both be ridiculed and honored for Manie...
Personally, I take my hat off for him.
Rassie has big balls
Ohw Tim....relieved you coming out under the trolls😊......the 3 games before the last WC ...is the recipe.
Nelspruit is going to be 🔥
More concerned about the Boks current (non-existent) gameplan, than Libbok.
@@mdj7268 A very difficult and perhaps most important position. The player that handles the ball the most during a game.
Missbok in action again, oh lordie
After the win you gonna say Thank you Lord 😅. Just leave Mannie alone and your prayers will be answered
@anderbotha......I'm glad Rassie not giving into you trolls 😂....Manie will be 1st choice comes next WC....than you can have your rugby back....in the meantime....happy trolling 😂
I’m sure you are or were a great kicker. In the meantime, let Rassie choose his team and we back them!
@anderbotha... More like Under Bota, which is an 'empty jar' or 'empty brain'. 🤔
If you going to give Manie more time then starting him is smart, clutch kicks in second half you have Handre’ as cover.
You have to believe that Rassie, as a coach, is special.
I think Grant Williams will take up that no.9 shirt. He is very good.
Good show . This centre partnership will win the territory more effectively. They went straight at contact against the ABs,,it left space outside . I thought pollard and Am drifted. Can't wait.
Hey Tim 👋. Ja I agree let's make a statement. This team is gonna set the record straight. This is gonna be the team to fix last week's mistake.
No matter what team Rassie chooses, we respect and support them. Have your say after the match.
Shisa’nyama…Braai Day! South Africa is all about our meat, savannah, zamalek & klippies and cola…
Tim keep up the great show, I love your insight... Go Bokke
Exactly Tim. It's is on Rassie for leaving Manie to finish. Then again Manie did let himself and all of SA down. He has to redeem himself
Mannie should always start, if he is having an off day Rassie can just take him off and bring Pollard on to close the game out
If we playing the Tony Brown style it makes sense to start with Manie or Sacha and finish off with Pollard at tge end wen we need the clutch kicking
Boks seriously underestimated Argentina, hope Rassie gets a grip this coming weekend
I'm not surprised to see Manie - if anything, I think the Manie start, Polly on the bench combo is the best. I am, however, surprised to see three centres but no Willie.
They will want to score 4 tries as quickly as possible because that will secure the cup. Think they will run it in the first half especially.
Moerat had to go. He isn't a natural leader and doesn't fill the enforcer type role anywhere near well enough to standout. Sorry but that's the truth
Absolutely true.....Manie will be the 1st choice comes next WC
ML starting makes perfect sense, Sasha injured and the Boks have played very quick and coast to coast in the first 40 which suits ML, then second 40 bring bomb squad and Pollard on to close off the game.
My prediction...Manie will have the game of his life and win the championship cup for us.
I doubt it! 😏
Thanks Tim,
Lekker Tim du Plessis! you must be sick of hear people say, they cannot wait for your videos to air, but I can confirm it is true, I cannot wait till there is a new video, and sometimes when there is none, we get worried about you Tim, you are definitely a South African now :)
Love you Tim
I called this one. I’ve heard that these teams are pencilled in long before. I think Libbok was already set to play this game at 10 before last week. And with SFM out, we need Manie around
I ask myself questions regarding Manie and also Nortje; what are the alternatives in the squad? The Boks are building depth, but they still have an A and B team. BUT 3 years to go until 2027!
