The game just looks gourgeous! Is it all shaders or some mods also help? I love seeing you play modded, player terrafirmapunk bc of you (altho that modpack is very unpolished, it's still good fun)
Most of the time I spent testing the pack I just got lost looking at all the beautiful sights. The shaders do a lot of work, but they are helped by other mods too. BiomesO'Plenty and a few other mods add a ton of variety to the plants and biomes to explore (around 100 different unique biomes). Also very important is the mod Quark which tweaks biome colors to make everything look more green and alive.

@@johnhimmington5996 cause then you only get one wood type, bad for building and mod recipes, also variation keeps the game interesting in visuals

Vintage Story is a game that is based off of Terrafirma; and it is it's own game. Still in Beta, but has more content than Minecraft already. It is super super fun survival!

Oh boy, I feel like I’ve just aged 10 years seeing this. I remember watching the first episode of the first season the very first day it came out and loving it to bits. Now that I think about it I realize I’ve been watching you for more than half of my life, which is so crazy. Here’s to many, many more years of Etho!

I'm 37 and love Minecraft and let's play videos! Age means nothing. We don't have to like or dislike certain things just because we are adults.
26 and Minecraft can definitely be for adults as well. Tons of mod packs and redstone that still go clear over my level of understanding without some serious work.

Man it's really been two years since episode one huh? Two years later, this series remains to be a comfort. Tragic it ended like it did, yet understandable because of the mod problems.

Just as a random small note: I'm used to every minecrafter I watch on youtube using Sildur's shaders, and as someone who really likes complementary shaders myself, I had a tiny lil' fan moment seeing Etho use complementary too 😄
Sildurs is a bit intense for me

I started watching Etho in my 30s and am now 45. He's one of the only minecrafter youtubers I still watch.
@@FlesHBoX he’s really the only Minecraft UA-camr that has kept it interesting. Everyone else either stopped playing, or the people who play now have very little game knowledge.

He was at 1.9 for a long while. It's cool to see his channel blew right past 2 and is headed for 3. Crazy growth in a short time.
I (shamefully) haven't watched Etho for years. Life happened, etcetc. Then this pops up when I could use some comforting and hearing Etho's voice, the wholesome enthusiasm, after so long was like pulling on a favorite sweater. Thank you for kicking it still! Looking forward to watching more of this series.

Ethos, you should try to take advantage of those underground rock golems and how they attack other mobs and figure out a early simple mob farm. That cave is a PERFECT start to a mob farm already. It's a flat and only 4 blocks tall. 80% of building the farm is already done by the natural generation of the cave
Not to mention if he just has a cart hopper system or possibly a modded way to gather items it’s fully automated since those mobs will keep spawning even if some of them die from the other mobs
Even if a mob farm with the golem wouldn't work it should with regular or alternative methods that are probably simpler. Thinking about it, the golem might be hard to keep from getting hit. Maybe his reach could be taken advantage of though.
@@overlord-6644 that sounds like a great idea, even if it isn't the most efficient possible for a mob farm he would be able to create his own design of a mob farm different than anyone else has made previously. The design process would be fun

I'm overwhelmed with hype for this series. I wasn't around for season 1, when it happend, sadly. But I've watched it back a couple of times, and it's my favorite Etho series too. So I'm so freaking excited about season 2! Here we go boys, get yo snacks and get ready for some fun!
Just a small tip: you can place your backpack in a curio slot, it's the small ring on the top-left of your charachter window, they work just like bauble slots in 1.12

From the sound it made, I believe it was a Cachalot Whale from Alex's Mobs. It's understandable that he'd ignore it if he's familiar with the mod (such as while testing the pack out before starting the series), since they aren't really useful when first starting a playthrough (and they don't attack you unless you hurt them first).

Etho's content is really top quality which might be what OP is looking for, so you have to ask views from people who like watching low quality stuff too, you know what i mean? its only fair

Hey Etho just a couple points of advice
The default handle you get with Tetra is worse than wood and different types of planks have different stats
You can equip the backpack as a bauble so it doesn't use the armor slot
Also you should probably add whatever the WAILA equivalent is for 1.16 that adds a lot of helpful tool tips including what mod adds what
i personally really don't like these WAILA sort of mods. so much clutter :-/ i'd rather explore and learn myself. takes away a lot of the exploration fun for me
definitely second a WAILA-type mod; it's super-handy for anyone who's playing along to be able to see the names they need to search in JEI
Even if WAILA isn't necessary for Etho, I think it would probably help a lot as a viewer, especially if it's a mod I haven't heard from

Mr Etho, might I suggest adding “Mod Name Tooltip” to the pack? It just identifies what mod an item is from in your inventory. Loving the new series!

Man, wow. I watched the first series back when I was still in school, lived at home, just started my job, was lonely and depressed. Now, I just moved into my brand new house with my wife and 6 month old son and I’m very happy and in a manager position at my job, time flies. Still love me some Minecraft

For tetra weapons, i recommend slotting in a pristine lapis to make honing easier (unnecessary for tools, since it's easier to train them), until you maxed it. Also swapping parts removes enchants, so I do recommend enchanting before tetra-ing. In fact I would even recommend getting your weapons with the best material in your pack first, enchant and then tetra it.
This is why I LOVE Ergo's comment section. Everyone is either very informative and positive. Sometimes even both.

I started watching way back when crash landing was a new series. I'm so glad to be back and I'm so glad you're still around. You were one of my idols as a child and I still love you and your content today. Thank you for everything you've made and all of the things that your videos have helped get me through. Seeing the intro and hearing Etho's classic "whats up everybody" shot me back to better years. I think im going to enjoy another season of Etho
It's so strange knowing that the previous "Etho's Modded Minecraft" started out nearly 7 years ago, I remember watching it when it was still coming out! Early 2015 I had practically just started high school, now I have graduated college and I'm working in the industry I've always wanted to work in, while still looking forward to each new Etho video coming out :)

You should see some old modded videos. James Charles and Mr Beast used to BEG Etho to upload more. He has that kind of charm and video consistency like no one I've ever seen.
@@ChauNyan do you have any recommendation? I usually don't watch modded series esp the ones with too much overpowered stuff/machines on it, but I'm ok with mods that feels natural to the game (such as this one so far and Beef's Life in the Woods series)

Hey Etho, really love this new video, brings back a lot of nostalgia remembering your original modded series! Did you know if you click the silver circle on the top left of your inventory it'll open up a sort of accessories menu. You can place the backpack on your back without having to sacrifice your chest plate and continue to access it with ctrl+e !
