Thanks for showing the setup. Can't wait to get mine. Looks pretty straight forward. Have you got the feeds and speeds figured out? Are you the neighbor Drew Fisher keeps borrowing things from on his channel?
ha ha...no, I don't live anywhere close to Drew. He's in Michigan and I'm in Mississippi. Glad you found it useful! I'm still messing with some of the feeds and speeds, figuring out what works well and not. Lots of experimenting.
Thank you! The cutting area of this one is 32"x32". You can check out all of their stuff on their site (not sure of the current prices) at onefinitycnc.com
I'm a Shapeoko Pro owner myself, but the OneFinity Woodworker was a close second on my list when I ordered my first CNC in October 2020. Your video is the first I've watched of the OneFinity being unboxed and assembled. It was very interesting getting to see the process and how it differed from my machine. If you ever want to collab on some comparisons or some "Shapeoko vs. OneFinity" project videos hit me up!
You know what's more crazy than that??? I actually watched and purchased your table build plans and made that. I ordered a OneFin CNC though and decided AFTER I made my table to get the journeyman. It is probably going to ship this week (waiting a LONG TIME) and am loving the table though! I am hoping the CNC on casters will be stable. I enjoy your channel and Bruce, man, let me know since it's been a year on how it's going! Hope you're building some pretty fun stuff!
Hey Jon! Glad you’re liking the table. I know of people who built my table and say it fits the Journeyman rail. You’ll have to move it right to the edge and put the monitor in a different spot, but it should work.
Great video, I like how your wife watches you using the controller and kisses you and leaves. lol! Like showing a mother your new toy. Haha! My wife does the same thing. BTW, I ended up using your plans for my table. Had to change a few dims because I got the journeyman x50 but it all worked out great. Thank you for sharing!
Just now seeing this. Glad you enjoyed the video and glad the plans were a good jumping off point. I am in the process of upgrading my rail to the Journeyman and it just fits on the original. With only about an inch to spare side to side. I'm going to have to mount the monitor on the front of the table on an arm, but that's ok.
I meant to reply earlier, but this got buried. Sorry about that. The Shapeoko Pro XXL does not ship with a router, so by the time you include one, it's about $400 more than the OneFinity Woodworker that I got. Also, the OneFinity does not have any belts. No adjusting needed over time. The X and Y of both machines provides essentially the exact same cutting area. However, the OneFinity has 1 1/4" more in Z height capability, allowing thicker materials to be cut.
Like the table very much. Just bought a one infinity journeyman X50 with the cut area of 48 X 32 inches. Your plans call for the table to be 49 X 60 and I have seem some plans that call for 48 X 70 inches. I don't have my CNC yet, what is the actual footprint of this machine. I don't want to build a table and find that it does not fit the unit. Thanking you in advance, any help would be great. James
Is there an internet address where I can buy the machine mentioned in the video directly? Unfortunately, I couldn't understand the explanations very well since I used a translation, that's why I'm asking.
Hey thanks for the head-up! I've fixed the link. Here's a link to their site: www.onefinitycnc.com/product-page/build-your-own-onefinity They now have a "build your own machine" which they didn't have when I purchased mine. But I have the larger one...the "Woodworker."
Mine gets delivered tomorrow. I've been slacking on the table build though. I want to do an enclosure like my current CNC so I might have to do something temporary until I get a feel for how I want it configured. Love the video!
Complicated answer incoming...I typically design in Illustrator since I use that for some laser designs and other things also. Then, I can import that SVG into Easel Pro, which I use as the CAM program to set the speeds and feeds. Then, I export G Code that the OneFinity will read.
Great video Bruce. The editing was top-notch! The table you built for the CNC with the space for the stool is gonna be nice for all the hours of carving you’ll be doing! I appreciate the unbiased review too.
I thought that one part was a giant set of fake eyelashes. 😂 nice editing, Bruce! I like your style. I’m still working through what mine is and I’m excited to share my next UA-cam video.
Bruce - Just stumbled upon your video, thanks for this one. I'm in the market for a cnc and have been looking at onefinity. Good to hear your comments. Looks like a really solid cnc. I know there are many kits out there, but frankly I don't want to build my tools, just would like some simple set up and go. Are you happy with it's performance now that you've had it up for a while?
Thank you! I've been learning Fusion 360, but I've not been using that for this machine. I've been just creating SVGs in a vector program like Illustrator and then importing that to Easel, inputting the setting, and then exporting gcode.
Great video. Do you know what model onefinity you got. I am currently waiting on the my onefinity woodworker x50. Should be here in about a week and want to make a table for it. Love the plans you have but want to make sure it will fit since I plan on making table before it arrives.
Enjoyed the video,I'm looking to get my first CNC soon for general wood crafts and wondered if you had considered or compared yours with the Longmill. The more you read the easier it is to confuse yourself and harder to decide! or is that just me? Just to show my minimal knowledge, the display shown is it where you will load up and plan your projects? or do you or can use a laptop? I'm in the UK but it seems the best machines are US or Canada based unless someone can tell me otherwise?
I thought I replied to this. Sorry. Glad you enjoyed the video. Have you already picked up a cnc since asking this? I'm not familiar with the Longmill. You can use a laptop or monitor that is not the small monitor with this OneFinity CNC.
Yes, I purchased it from their website. They have a few different options available, so the price is very much dependent on which options you chose. Go there and build out the one you want and you can see it!
Nice video, Bruce~! When deciding upon getting the OneFinity CNC, did you consider others, like the X-Carve? That's the one I've been looking at (I like the DIY) aspect of it, but the OneFinity has really gotten my attention. It seems to be a lot sturdier, for one thing. Thanks~!
The sturdiness was one of the big factors. This thing is much more solid than the XCarve. Plus, they're continuing to innovate with new options all of the time. When I bought mine they didn't have this, but they now have a 50mm rail so you can cut something the width of a full sheet of plywood!
Hey, Bruce. I’m glad I found your channel. I’ve been listening to WBAT on podcasts too. I’m definitely adding a CNC to my shop and I’m pretty sure I will get the OneFinity as well. I’d love to see a review in a few months after you’ve had some time using it. Looking forward to your future projects.

Hey Thanks, Stephen! I chose the OneFinity over the XCarve because of rigidity while in use (no belts, stronger rails), and ease of setup (30 min vs. 16 hours for the XCarve). I'm really glad I took the extra time to button up the cables like I did.

Fantastic editing and great instructional on the setup. All that said, can we talk a bit more about the handsome guy that you were facetiming?

Merci pour ce que vous faites ! Peut-on couper en une passe avec cette machine 15mm ?
Je suppose que cela dépend du matériau que vous coupez.

Oh yeah! You got that puppy up and running yet?
@@BruceAUlrich yeah. Tried one cut so far.
@@brickdaddiy Nice! I'm hoping to dig into it more soon! I've done a few projects on it so far.
are those parts 3d printed or sold metal?
Some of them are solid. Some are 3d printed like the stand for the monitor.
Great video Bruce. How do you like the 8 in screen??? Seems to be a little small...
Thank you! It is a little small. They didn’t have the bigger one when I bought mine but if you are buying now, I’d go with the bigger one.
The blue tape trick for transferring the hole pattern. Nice. A CNC is a great addition to a modern shop. You'll love it, and probably already do :)
That silly trick with the tape works so well! Ha ha. Thanks for checking it out, Jay! Yep, I am really liking it already, but I have a lot to learn.

Hey James. The Journeyman should fit on this table at this size, but you’ll need to locate the control box elsewhere.
