Same thing happened to my first l-39 on a specktrum reciever i pulled from a crashed viper . Was flying fine till i suddenly lose control and crash . Mental note . Never try to recycle receivers that got the receiving end of trees in their previous lives😊
Hi Prowlus, you do make a very good point as I too have done the same taken a crashed RX and used it in another aircraft - only to see it nose dive into the ground !!! - good note to make... Cheers Martyn
Hi Gina - Yes Indeed it was the very same place, I have also lost a few others in the same area... I declare by the powers invested in me (that's none) that from this day forth that corner of the field with be know as "Crash Corner" - say hi to Alan for me, hope you are both well, Martyn
Aww Martyn, that was an expensive day's flying!! So sad when we crash I hate it makes me feel sad for a few days, I wonder why they are going down in the same spot, bit of a head scratcher 🤔
I think the Dragonfly was my error - but I lost at least three or four over in that corner, might be the law of averages as I fly over there, but more in that area than any place else, I do not know if you notice normally over in that corner I climb and turn to get away.. but this time I did not really do that- but never mind , at is part of the Hobby - lucky for me it was not a really nice aircraft i am attached to, the Dragonfly was a bit rubbishy, and this one I did not own long enough to get attached ...LOL - Cheers Ian - say High to your wife (Camera crew) from me, Stay well both of you - Martyn
Bugger and damn again buddy, that is sh#t on toast. 😢. Hope you found the root cause, it really gets me if I can't find out why the ground won........again. sorry for your loss Martyn.
Yep another Casualty of "Crash Corner" I think i have lost at least 5 maybe more in that very location - the bush has a WWII fence post hidden in it, I once crashed and guess who found the post with a HK Lancaster - yep me, LOL... not heard the saying "Shit on toast" before, but I like it - I know "Sh#t on a stick" or "Sh&t Sandwich" LOL... thanks for your comment - stay safe.. Martyn
It hurts Airhammer, It Hurts... my bank account ..🤣🤣🤣🤣.... and you are quite correct I have lost more than a handful in that every same location... I do not think I have ever lost two on the same day.. so its a first for me... Never mind - Onwards and Upward(with luck) now what can I take out of its box and build ?? - Stay well Martyn Out !!
Gezz Martyn, I’ve fixed way worse than that, I fly them, fix them, crash them, repeat. Picking up an as new L39 tomoz. BTW first fly of the Banshee on Sunday after a bit of a rocky start due to long grass and hard rough ground. Bit more serious to fly than the 50mm jobbies. Cheers
Hi Stew - Indeed, I have repaired worse , but you know I was just not into it any more 🤔 as an aircraft - so just let it go, I am also going to be Selling some of my 50mm EDF's and indeed also be selling some of my 64mm EDF's to make room for 70 & 80mm ones I now have - I love my Banshee - and indeed it will be one of the 64mm versions I keep - I did change the Landing Gear and fitted some machined sprung ones .. Happy New Year - Keep safe and well - Martyn
Good onya Martyn, getting into the big ones. Be a while if ever I go that way, got a lot of learning to do first. Off to do some dam flying tomoz, Loving that and the L-39 is ready for Sunday. Cheers.
Hi Chris - Indeed it is 😃😃 - it happens as you know - all part of this great experiance for RC Aircraft. but in itself not that Great when it happens, Chris ref the SHOWs , I tend to miss them all, we could see if something can be arranged for next season, and maybe a few of us could meet up - what do you think ?? - Stay well Martyn
Wtf .......... ODear Ft ...... I'm Abit more sad now.... that certainly decided it wasn't playing the game in a hurry......?....... bugga....I'm pleased you still always have to laugh.... we'll cry for you 🙃😎
🤣🤣🤣 - Dean, I am crying on the inside ...NOT really - But next time I go to my local hobby store, I will tip the contents of my wallet onto the counter and ask for a match - it might as well go up in smoke that way.. saves a lot of time and effort , no but with two Birds gone - I can now re-arrange space and make room for one larger one - Ummm what will it be.... Stay well Martyn
@@FlankerTanker hiya FtMartyn..... third time lucky ? - so I'm thinking fly something not to flash next.....and definitely not that bushmule !!!! Yet .... 🙄🤪😉😎
Ohhh dear me. I had the Arrows viper & T-33 hand throw & sold them both as i am not comfortable with these 50mm tossers. At least it will go around corners ok. Winter is coming bro…..
Well this L39 sure was a "Tosser" - that is without any doubt...🤣🤣🤣🤣..... "Winter is Coming" ..Here in the UK it never left !!!! - this week is our summer - 29 to 31c - little to now wind but only for this week (and I am working) .... Talk about a disaster !!! - that reminds me I must re-watch "Game of Thrones " - Summer is coming .... Cheers Noel, Stay safe and well , Martyn
Hi Martyn, yes, it is the similar temp here in Penang but humid. 28-31c i remember living in the UK for 2 years Sep-Oct had the best weather & subsequently each time we visited, it was these times we chose. Hoping you will have some good Autumn weather ahead for flying. I will have 4…. That is Four new aircraft to maiden when i get home next week. Keep safe… winter is coming ( after October)🥸😎🤩
Hi Caroline, Lucky for me it did not last long - otherwise I might have grown attached to it 😉😉, Mind you my Bank account is not happy with me at the moment... 🤣🤣- thanks for your comment - stay safe and well , Oh and that Zohd Dart XL turns out to be a V2, but I still plan to sell it.. along with something called auto pilot.. .. just not my cup of tea anymore.. Martyn
Oh no!!!, two planes lost in one weekend, what is it with that part of the flying field Martyn, is there any high voltage wire's or sub station's nearby?...jeff.
in fact we do have a radio (mobile phone tower) further over, that might have something to do with that corner - but I just do not know, over the years I have seen several go in just in that area... but not recently and two in one weekend - strange, although I am sure the Dragonfly was my error.. and nothing to do with anything else.. but I guess we will never really know.. Onwards and Upwards..... Stay well Jeff , Martyn

I use a Radiomaster TX16S and I can't say it's really any better for line of sight than current Spektrum transmitters. If there's 2.4ghz interference in that spot a new radio won't help.
Hi Sean, No Idea why this did what it did, only that it joins about 5 or 6 others that have gone down in the same area over the years, I guess we will never know, but it comes with the Hobby... Stay well Sean , Martyn

Thanks but I will stick with my IX14 - considering the number of flight I do in a year this sort of even is bound to happen ... Cheers ...

Maybe its time to junk your Spektrum Transmitter and get a Radiomaster , You will save a lot of money on planes
Never had any problems with spektrum gear here. I have the DX9 & NX10 with many receivers. Not one ounce of a problem!
